Chapter 384: About the Diary

Su Rongqi stayed in the Su family and talked with Su Rou for quite a while. It was just like the time before Su Rou's identity was discovered. Back then, the atmosphere was as harmonious as it was now. Although Su Rou wasn't sure if it was because she was pregnant that made Grandpa change his attitude towards her, she still preferred this kind of life.

Su Rongqi was just like her real grandfather. Now she had almost no relatives. Apart from Yao Yu, Su Rongqi was the one who treated her the best. He was just a bit strict with his descendants, but overall, he was a good man.

Especially towards Su Yuze, he had unconditional trust. However... thinking of this, a hint of sadness welled up in Su Rou's heart. What should she do? Su Yuze wasn't even Su Rongqi's real grandson.

"Xiaorou? What's wrong? Are you tired?" Su Rongqi noticed that Su Rou's complexion looked a bit off and asked. Pregnant women shouldn't be too tired. Maybe Su Rou was exhausted?

Seeing this, Su Rou nodded in agreement, "Yeah, a little."

"Then go upstairs and rest first," Su Rongqi said. "I'll leave soon."

"Okay."

After Su Rou's figure disappeared at the stairway, Su Rongqi brought the topic to Su Yuze, "Yuze, it seems that Aunt Nuan had a locked diary, right?"

Su Yuze looked at Su Rongqi, "Huh?"

"It's a black-and-white diary with a lock on it. It should have been taken away in that cardboard box, right?" Su Rongqi asked.

Su Yuze thought for a while, "I don't think I saw such a diary. Maybe it got lost when we were cleaning up the stuff?" Su Yuze asked indifferently.

"Oh? Really?" Su Rongqi raised his eyebrows slightly. "Maybe I'm getting old and remembered wrong." Strange, he was sure he remembered it being in the cardboard box. How could it be gone?

Su Yuze calmly took a sip of tea, "What's wrong with Mom's diary? Do you want me to help you look for it?" Su Yuze asked.

"It's nothing. Once I accidentally found Nuan Yi's diary and wanted to see what she had written. I wondered if she had said anything bad about me," Su Rongqi said. After Su Kaiming was imprisoned, Su Rongqi suddenly felt lonely. Among his four children, his two daughters left home because of love, and his two sons were divided because of the family. His life... had been full of ups and downs, and in fact, it was a failure.

Su Yuze looked at Su Rongqi and then shook his head, "So, what did the diary say?"

"I don't know. The diary was locked. She probably didn't want others to read it. I wanted a locksmith to open it a few days ago, but I forgot about it," Su Rongqi sighed silently. "Maybe she filled it with hatred for me."

Su Yuze put down his teacup and said, "She wouldn't."

"You know? Didn't you say you've never seen the contents of the diary?" Su Rongqi asked curiously.

"As a son, I know she wouldn't. Grandpa, there's no such thing as an overnight feud among family members. You've already accepted Xiaorou again. Do you think Mom would still hate you?" Su Yuze said.

Su Rongqi smiled helplessly, "Hehe, you make a lot of sense. I hope so."

"Yeah."

For a moment, the whole living room was quiet. Su Rongqi finished the tea in front of him, then stood up, "I should go back. I'll look for that diary by the way."

"Okay."

Su Yuze saw Su Rongqi out of the door, "I'll also look for it at home. Maybe Sister Wang put it somewhere by accident. I'll tell you if I find it."

"Well... don't tell me. Let me keep a fantasy," Su Rongqi said. He wanted to let things take their natural course because he felt that what Su Yuze said just now really hit the nail on the head. Among family members, especially between a father and a daughter, there shouldn't be any overnight feud. If he could find that diary, he would take a look. If he couldn't find it, it was probably fate. He'd just assume that Nuan Yi no longer hated him!

Su Yuze nodded, "Okay."

"Don't see me off. I brought my driver. Go up and check on Xiaorou. She might really not be feeling well. If there's a problem, you should take her to the hospital in time," Su Rongqi said. He was quite experienced when it came to childbirth. After all, his wife had given birth to four children!

"I know. Be careful on the way," Su Yuze said.

"Yeah."

After watching Su Rongqi leave, Su Yuze closed the door. Su Rou was standing at the stairway looking down, "Grandpa left?"

"Yeah."

Su Yuze knew that Su Rou wasn't really feeling unwell. She just didn't know how to face Grandpa, so she chose to avoid him. Su Yuze smiled, "You little girl, you ran upstairs by yourself and left me to deal with everything."

Su Rou giggled, "You handled it quite well, didn't you?"

"But someone could have helped me deal with it together."

Su Rou walked over, pulled Su Yuze to sit down, and then lay on the back of the sofa to massage his shoulders, "I'm 'not feeling well'."

"Are you feeling better now?"

"Yeah, I feel much better now."

Su Yuze smiled helplessly. She recovered really quickly. Seeing Su Rou busy behind him, he pulled her in front of him, "Don't be busy massaging me while you're pregnant."

"I'm fine." Su Rou sat on Su Yuze's lap. "What did Grandpa say?"

"He asked me about the diary."

Su Rou looked at Su Yuze in surprise, "Huh? Has Grandpa seen it?" Or did Grandpa already start to suspect something?

"No, Grandpa didn't suspect anything," Su Yuze comforted her. "Grandpa just asked if the diary had been opened. I had to pretend I didn't see it." However, Su Rongqi's lonely expression at that time was really quite desolate. He must have repented for what he did back then.

Su Rou didn't know what had happened back then, but she heard that it was because of Su Rongqi's stubborn personality that his two daughters left home one after another. "Does he also want to see the contents inside?"

"Yeah, but he's more curious if Nuan Yi wrote some words hating him."

"I understand," Su Rou nodded, indicating that she understood. "Grandpa is quite pitiful."

Su Yuze rubbed her head, "There's nothing we can do. He caused all these things himself. It's too late for him to regret now." In this world, there's no such thing as a regret medicine.

"In the future, we can't be too strict with our children," Su Rou leaned in Su Yuze's arms and said. "We can discipline them, but we can't make them feel depressed." She didn't want Su Rongqi's history to repeat itself with them.

"Okay."
