Chapter 472: Don’t Go, Mom

Yu Feng had been busy recently arranging the marriage of Su Yuze and Su Rou, as well as dealing with company matters. He had been so stressed out that he caught a cold.

Moreover, the wind by the sea was so strong that it was hard not to catch a cold.

Xiao Yun remembered that Yu Feng had been so excited that day that he had jumped into the sea by himself. "You're just asking for it!"

"Um... yeah." Delirious with fever, Yu Feng answered absent - mindedly.

"..." Well, looking at him like this, Xiao Yun suddenly thought he was quite cute for a change. He was only well - behaved when he was sick.

Xiao Yun helped Yu Feng tuck in the quilt. Then she went to the kitchen to cook some porridge. It was better for a sick person to eat something light.

It had been a long time since she had cooked, so she was a bit rusty. After the porridge was cooked, it was a bit burnt. "Oh, well..." She'd just let him eat it like this. It wasn't going to kill him anyway.

"Come on, have something to eat." Xiao Yun brought the porridge over, helped Yu Feng sit up, and then scooped up a spoonful of porridge and held it to his mouth. "You must not have eaten on time. Come on, have some porridge!"

Yu Feng smelled the burnt odor in front of him and wrinkled his nose in disgust. "It stinks..."

"You stink!" Xiao Yun said crossly, pressing the spoon against Yu Feng's mouth. "Eat!"

"..." Yu Feng turned his head from side to side, refusing to open his mouth. "Stinky..."

"Damn it!" He was so hard to take care of even when he was sick! It was the least he could do to show some appreciation for the porridge she'd made! "I'm warning you. If you don't eat, I'll leave and won't care about you anymore!"

"..." Maybe he'd reacted to her words. Suddenly, Yu Feng grabbed Xiao Yun's wrist with one hand. "Don't go..."

Xiao Yun was slightly taken aback. She didn't expect him to have so much strength even in this feverish state. "Then eat obediently, and I won't go."

"I'll eat..."

"Then let go first!" Xiao Yun was completely exasperated. He was more troublesome than a child. "How can I feed you if you hold onto me like this?"

Yu Feng ignored her and kept holding onto Xiao Yun's wrist tightly. "Don't go."

"I know, I know. I won't go!" Xiao Yun rolled her eyes. "Then let me feed you porridge, okay?"

"Um..."

"Then let go of me first."

"Don't go..."

Great! This conversation had turned into an endless loop! Damn it! Xiao Yun really wanted to curse. In the end, she had no choice but to put the porridge bowl on the coffee table and then use one hand to hold the spoon. It was more troublesome this way, but since Yu Feng was holding onto her, this was the only way to feed him.

Sensing Xiao Yun's movement, Yu Feng thought she was about to leave. He quickly tightened his grip on her wrist. "Don't go... Mom..."

"Mom? You're mistaking me for your mom?" Great, great. He was completely delirious with fever. Suppressing her anger, Xiao Yun still held the spoon to his mouth. "Open your mouth."

Yu Feng obediently opened his mouth and ate the burnt - smelling porridge. "Er..."

"Is it delicious?" Xiao Yun asked. "If you say it's not delicious, I'll leave."

Yu Feng frowned slightly, as if hesitating. But finally he said, "... Delicious."

"That's more like it." Xiao Yun smiled. "Come on, keep eating. If you don't, I'll leave."

...

Maybe it was because he'd sweated a lot under the quilt. By evening, Yu Feng's fever had subsided a lot, and he was more lucid. He tossed and turned uncomfortably and sat up. Then he saw the quilt on him. "No wonder it's so hot..."

But it was strange. Where did this quilt come from? He remembered that he'd felt unwell and then skipped work to go home. And then... he couldn't remember!

There seemed to be a faint smell of burnt porridge in the air. "Ugh..." Yu Feng scratched his head. Some fragments of memory seemed to flash through his mind. He vaguely remembered that he'd met someone when he got home.

"Is it that tomboy?" Yu Feng opened the door and walked out. He stood in front of Xiao Yun's door.

Was it really her?

Yu Feng stood in front of her door, wondering whether he should knock. If it wasn't her, wouldn't it be so embarrassing? But if it was really her... he had to thank her anyway, right?

After much thought, Yu Feng knocked on Xiao Yun's door and then waited nervously.

"Strange... Why am I nervous?" Yu Feng murmured softly. Then he shrugged and tried to relax his expression.

After waiting for a while, no one came to open the door. Yu Feng raised his eyebrows. Not at home? He didn't believe it and knocked a few more times. He even put his ear against the door, but it was completely quiet inside.

"Sigh..." Yu Feng returned home dejectedly. He knew it. It couldn't have been her! It would be a miracle if that tomboy could take care of someone!

Back home, Yu Feng took off his clothes. The hot sweat had soaked his clothes. He really wanted to take a shower right away.

...

The next day

Xiao Yun walked out of the school and rubbed her aching neck. She had spent the whole night in the classroom studying for the post - graduate entrance exam. She was really determined.

Just then, her phone rang. It was Yu Fei. "Hello, Fei Fei. What's up?"

"Did you stay up all night studying again? Come out. I'll treat you to dinner." Yu Fei's voice came through the phone.

Xiao Yun checked the time. It was already noon. "Sure."

Yu Fei and Xiao Yun sat down at their usual dining place. "Yun Yun, look at you. You have dark circles under your eyes!"

"It's no big deal. I don't really care." Xiao Yun said while eating her spaghetti. "Anyway, I'm not dating anyone."

Hearing this, Yu Fei became interested. "But someone took care of Yu Feng last night, didn't they?"

"I just..." Xiao Yun gave her a disdainful look. "I couldn't just leave him there, could I?"

"Oh?" Yu Fei smiled. "You could have called someone. Why did you have to take care of him yourself?" Didn't she still refuse to admit that she had feelings for Yu Feng?

Xiao Yun was stunned. "Yeah... " At that time, when she saw Yu Feng lying by the door, she hadn't thought much and just followed her heart.

"See? You do care about him!"

"I just thought... if Yu Feng died there without anyone noticing, it would be a big hassle for me." After all, they were neighbors. If something happened, she would definitely find it troublesome.

Yu Fei just smiled. Xiao Yun had never been in a relationship, so she was naturally slow in this regard. Although Yu Fei didn't have much experience either, she was still a bit better than Xiao Yun!

Well, with time, she would probably realize her feelings herself. Instead of seeing Xiao Yun date a man she didn't know, it would be better if she dated Yu Feng. Yu Fei thought Yu Feng was a nice guy.

Xiao Yun felt a bit guilty. Seeing that Yu Fei had stopped talking, she buried her head in her food. She didn't know! Anyway, at that time, she only knew that she couldn't let Yu Feng lie in front of the door unattended.

Moreover... the sick Yu Feng last night had shown her a different side of this childish guy! He was really a childish brat, holding her hand and calling her "Mom", which instantly made her maternal instincts kick in.

But how could she possibly tell anyone about this?

After having lunch with Yu Fei, Xiao Yun was going to go home. Yu Fei looked at her pale face worriedly and said, "Go home and have a good sleep. Don't overwork yourself."

"Okay, I know." Xiao Yun yawned. She was really exhausted. She could have gone home earlier last night, but she'd ended up taking care of Yu Feng instead.

Xiao Yun took the bus back to the apartment. Just as she opened the door, Yu Feng's door next to hers opened at the same time. Yu Feng walked out, rubbing his messy hair. When he saw Xiao Yun, he was first stunned, then greeted her nonchalantly, "Hey, tomboy!"

"Hi, childish brat!"

"You... just got home?" Yu Feng asked tentatively.

"Yeah." Xiao Yun looked at the key in her hand. "It's pretty obvious, isn't it?"

Yu Feng nodded. "Oh, how's your post - graduate entrance exam preparation going?"

"Not bad." Xiao Yun gave him a disdainful look. "Thanks for asking."

Yu Feng looked at her. "It really wasn't you..." he murmured softly.

"Wasn't what?" Xiao Yun looked at him puzzled.

"Nothing..." Yu Feng coughed lightly. "Tomboy, you'd better go to sleep quickly. Your dark circles are as bad as a panda's."

Xiao Yun squinted her eyes slightly. "Really! Well... good night!"

Xiao Yun slammed the door shut and leaned against it. She took out her phone and looked at herself. "Are my dark circles really that bad..."
