Chapter 25: Time Reset

I don't know how much time had passed before Song Ge finally came to her senses. But when she opened her eyes, she was once again in a state of confusion.

Time had been reset to that familiar morning again, and she was back in her own home.

Zhai Cheng must have been in danger again, and he must have died. Song Ge immediately realized this, her face turning terribly pale.

Going through the same thing all over again, Song Ge crouched in the corner of the construction site, her eyes constantly following Zhai Cheng's figure. It wasn't until she clearly saw Zhai Cheng being hit by something that her time was reset again.

"Now that we've found out the cause of Zhai Cheng's death, the problem should be easier to solve," Song Ge thought to herself as her time returned to the moment when they were on the construction site. While warily looking around, she pondered over possible solutions.

This time, instead of wandering around, she stayed by Zhai Cheng's side.

"I'll arrange for the guys to try out the method you proposed, Mr. Zhai, tonight," the foreman said excitedly as he put away the document that had been scribbled on countless times, smiling happily.

Zhai Cheng nodded and said calmly, "This is just my idea. If there's anything inappropriate, you guys can discuss it further. Safety should always come first."

The foreman quickly nodded in agreement.

Zhai Cheng suggested going outside for a look, so the group left the temporary shed and headed towards the building under construction.

As the scene in front of her became more and more familiar, Song Ge's heart almost jumped out of her throat.

This was the place. The last time she saw Zhai Cheng, he was killed by something near here.

Song Ge kept looking up from time to time, afraid that if she let her guard down for a moment, that thing would suddenly appear and kill Zhai Cheng again.

"What are you looking at? I've seen you looking up all the time," a deep voice sounded beside her.

After Zhai Cheng asked curiously, he also looked up out of curiosity, but saw nothing.

He retracted his gaze and continued walking forward.

"Watch out! Get out of the way!"

Song Ge exclaimed. Then Zhai Cheng felt a huge impact. When he came to his senses, he had already fallen to the ground, four or five meters away from where he had been standing.

Not far from him, Song Ge was also lying on the ground in a mess. She must have been in a lot of pain from the fall, as she was coughing painfully, her small face flushed.

And where he had been standing just now, there was a huge concrete block lying there.

If Song Ge hadn't pushed him away just now, he might have been dead under the concrete block by now.

Song Ge felt as if her bones were about to fall apart from the fall, and her whole body ached.

She lay on the ground, slowly moving her body to see if she could recover. Suddenly, she saw a figure flash by in the corner of the construction building.

Although the figure was very fast, she still saw it clearly. It was a pity that she didn't see the person's face.

"How are you? Does it hurt?" Zhai Cheng, who had already stood up from the ground, his face ashen, reached out his hand to pull her up.

Song Ge quickly retracted her gaze, smiled nonchalantly, and then placed her hand in his, "It's okay. I should be fine after a rest."

It seemed that the series of dangers Zhai Cheng had encountered these days were not natural disasters, but man - made. After realizing this truth, Song Ge's expression became more solemn.

"Mr. Zhai, Miss Song, are you guys okay?" The foreman was obviously also scared. It took him a long time to come to his senses and he ran over nervously to ask.

Zhai Cheng subconsciously looked at Song Ge, who gently shook her head at him.

"It's okay, but this incident must be thoroughly investigated. Such things must never happen again," Zhai Cheng replied calmly, his eyes still fixed on the concrete block on the ground.

Judging from Song Ge's reaction, it seemed that she knew something.

The foreman quickly nodded, still in shock as he promised, "I'll definitely investigate this matter thoroughly and give Mr. Zhai and Miss Song an explanation."

Such things had never happened before. Why did it happen today of all days? The foreman still couldn't figure it out and was very angry.

If something really happened to Zhai Cheng on the construction site this time, then their project would be over.

After simply instructing the foreman, Zhai Cheng and Song Ge left the scene of the incident and returned to the simple shed where they had been discussing things.

"What do you think of today's incident?" The foreman was eager to deal with this matter, so there were only the two of them in the shed. Zhai Cheng asked with a gloomy face.

Song Ge sighed. After much consideration, she decided to tell Zhai Cheng what she had seen.

"I saw a figure flash by when I pushed you away. So I think maybe these accidents are not accidental, but really man - made," Song Ge replied seriously.

Zhai Cheng's face became even more ugly. His burning eyes stared intently at Song Ge, "Are you sure you didn't see it wrong?"

Song Ge nodded affirmatively, "I'm absolutely sure I didn't see it wrong. That person moved very fast. I only saw his back and didn't see his face."

It might be understandable if she misjudged an ordinary thing, but how could she be wrong in this situation? This was a matter related to someone's life.

She wasn't an unreliable person, and Zhai Cheng was quite sure of this, so he didn't doubt her. He nodded coldly to show that he understood.

"Actually, this is also a good thing. As long as it's man - made, no matter how skillful the other person is, they will always leave some evidence. We just need to catch them," Song Ge said trying to sound relaxed.

She could already feel that the atmosphere in the shed had become a bit gloomy. If she didn't ease the atmosphere, she might not be able to stay any longer.

"Who do you think it could be?" Seeing that he remained silent, Song Ge asked again.

Zhai Cheng frowned tightly, his mind racing as he tried to figure out who could have such a motive.

After thinking for a long time, he still couldn't come up with any ideas. He shook his head helplessly. His social circle wasn't small, and it was impossible for him to consider everyone.

"Generally speaking, there are only two main reasons for someone to hurt others actively. One is related to life, and the other is related to work," Song Ge immediately turned into a detective and analyzed seriously.

"Could it be someone from the company?" Zhai Cheng suddenly asked, his tone a bit urgent. If it was someone from the company, some things could be explained.

Song Ge was taken aback and shook her head, "It's hard to say."

After all, they had no evidence at hand. These were just their speculations.

Zhai Cheng also understood the severity of the situation. He simply hummed in response and said no more.

The two fell into silence again, each guessing what the truth of the matter might be.

Song Ge suddenly thought of a question. Although she had known Zhai Cheng for a long time, she seemed to have never heard him talk about his family.

She had seen on TV before that there were always a lot of disputes in wealthy families. Could Zhai Cheng be facing the same situation?
