Song Ge looked down at the palm-sized notebook in her hand, determination flashing across her eyes once again.
There was a list of company names in the notebook. These were all the companies that had partnerships with Zhai Cheng, which she had managed to investigate.
"This company doesn't seem very friendly. I don't know if they'll let me in. I'll just take a chance," Song Ge murmured to herself as she parked her bicycle in the parking lot.
Looking around, she saw that all the cars in the parking lot were BMWs, Mercedes-Benzes and the like. Her bicycle was the only one there, standing out conspicuously.
But Song Ge didn't have the time to feel self-conscious. After parking her bike, she walked gracefully towards the company entrance.
Sure enough, she was stopped outside the door again.
She had visited several companies this morning. Many of them were just like this one, while a few were relatively more lenient, allowing her to sneak in and take a look at the situation.
However, there was nothing unusual about the companies she had managed to get into, as she had tried her best to investigate the situation inside each one.
Smiling apologetically at the security guards at the door, Song Ge turned around and left without showing any signs of discomfort.
"No way. This is the fourth time I've been stopped outside. I must get into the next company," Song Ge thought to herself as she slowly walked towards her bicycle, trying to come up with a solution.
Pedaling her bicycle on the street, Song Ge was preoccupied with thinking about how to get into the next company.
She had just checked her notebook and found that the next company she was going to visit was a new one that had a partnership with Zhai Cheng.
Passing by a milk tea shop, she looked up out of boredom and saw a girl in her early twenties applying for a job as a milk tea shop waitress.
An idea suddenly came to Song Ge, and a triumphant smile spread across her lips.
She had a plan. She was sure she could get into the next company.
Dressing up as a job applicant, Song Ge walked into the company with the crowd, head held high.
"Miss, you can't go in here," the security guard at the door reached out his hand to stop her.
Song Ge smiled politely at the two of them. "I'm here for a job interview. I just found the company address. Please let me in."
Her smile was so sincere that there was nothing wrong with it. Coupled with her outfit today, which really did look a bit like that of a job applicant, the two security guards finally let her in after some hesitation.
Walking carefully in the company corridor, Song Ge pricked up her ears the whole time, listening to what the people around her were saying.
A group of people with solemn expressions came around the corner. They all looked troubled, as if they had encountered some difficult problem.
Generally speaking, people only looked like this after a meeting. Song Ge seemed to have discovered a new continent. She tiptoed towards the crowd.
When she turned the corner, she found that there were several offices there. Some of the doors were tightly closed, while others were half-open.
After a moment's thought, she carefully walked towards the nearest door.
Anyway, she should first take a look at the situation. Maybe she would get some unexpected information.
She walked furtively in the corridor. When she saw someone coming, she would walk like a normal person. After the person passed by, she would continue to check the situation.
"What are you doing skulking around here?" a somewhat heavy voice came from the end of the corridor.
Song Ge was just peeping into an office with a half-open door. When the person asked the question, she didn't have time to pull her head back.
It was all because she had heard someone talking in that office just now. She thought she might hear some useful information, so she had been too focused and had forgotten to pay attention to whether there was anyone passing by behind her.
Biting her lip subconsciously, Song Ge felt nervous. Cold sweat kept oozing from her palms, and her breathing became a bit erratic.
Praying silently in her heart that the person wasn't talking about her, Song Ge straightened her body stiffly, slowly pulled her head back, and walked in the opposite direction of the source of the voice, pretending to be calm.
"I'm talking about you. Where do you think you're going?" the person shouted at her in a hurry and walked towards her step by step.
Seeing this, several people passing by in the corridor also stopped and looked at her suspiciously. Some of them even whispered to each other, discussing who she was.
While she was hesitating, the person who had been talking had already walked up to her. At the same time, the people around her also gathered around and stared at her curiously.
"Who are you? Are you here to spy on information?" the person questioned her again, his face cold.
Song Ge's heart skipped a beat. She suddenly realized what was going on and bowed to him apologetically. "I'm sorry. I'm here for a job interview. I thought this was the interview venue."
"Job interview?" the person looked at her suspiciously, and his shrewd eyes clearly showed that he didn't believe her.
"Isn't this the interview place?" Song Ge looked at him in surprise and smiled awkwardly. "I'm sorry. I went to the wrong place. I'll leave now."
After saying that in a hurry, Song Ge turned around and was about to leave.
But the people didn't believe her at all. They surrounded her tightly, leaving her no way to escape.
Now Song Ge was a bit panicked. If they found out what she was up to, there would definitely be big trouble.
Being stared at by so many people, Song Ge was a bit dazed. It was only the thought in her heart that kept her from showing it.
"May I ask if there's anything else?" Song Ge asked politely.
"What's going on?" With a creak, a person walked out of an office next to them.
Song Ge kept her head down, but when she heard his voice, she was still a bit amazed.
His voice was clear, clean, and in perfect enunciation. It was very pleasant to listen to. More importantly, it didn't have the oppression of the person who had been interrogating her just now.
It was the person who had caught Song Ge who answered. He jerked his chin towards Song Ge. "This woman was skulking around outside just now. I think she's trying to steal information."
"I didn't," Song Ge denied reflexively. Her voice was a bit loud because of her urgency.
Song Ge still didn't raise her head. Her face might have to appear in public with Zhai Cheng in the future, so it was best to let as few people see it as possible.
Ji Qingyun followed the person's chin and looked at the woman who had been keeping her head down tightly.
When he saw that person, Ji Qingyun's pupils suddenly shrank, as if he had seen something unbelievable.
"Song Ge?" After a pause of dozens of seconds, Ji Qingyun asked tentatively.
His heart unconsciously rose to his throat, and his eyes were fixed on the person who had been keeping her head down all the time.
He couldn't be wrong. This figure had appeared in his memory from time to time, so he was sure he wasn't mistaken.
Song Ge had already made up her mind to fight to the bitter end. Hearing this, her body suddenly froze, and her heart began to pound.
