Chapter 113: Knowing the Truth

The receptionist shook her head. She really didn't know.

Jiang Lihao didn't press further. He just sat in the lounge and waited for someone.

Time passed slowly. When the receptionist saw Mr. Huo come in, a look of surprise flashed across her face. Just as she was about to inform someone, she saw Jiang Lihao standing right behind him. She quickly lowered her head and got back to work. She knew better than to eavesdrop on certain conversations.

"Huocheng."

Hearing this voice, Huocheng froze. He turned around in confusion and saw Jiang Lihao with a bandage on his head.

The sight was so shocking that Huocheng stared silently for a few seconds.

"What happened to you?" Huocheng asked hesitantly.

"That's not the point, Brother Huo." Jiang Lihao grabbed him anxiously and dragged him into the elevator, completely ignoring the shocked look on Huocheng's face after his question.

Huocheng let Jiang Lihao lead him all the way to his office in a hurry. He watched as Jiang Lihao looked around carefully and then carefully closed the door.

He was a bit confused by Jiang Lihao's overly cautious actions. But more importantly, looking at the back of his head, he finally asked, "What's going on with your injury?"

There were too many questions, so he had to ask them one by one.

However, as soon as Jiang Lihao closed the door, he rushed up to Huocheng, put his finger to his lips, and whispered, "We'll talk about that later, Brother Huo. But I have something to tell you."

"Have you regained your memory?" Huocheng frowned.

Jiang Lihao paused for a moment but didn't answer the question. He continued, "That's not the point."

"Huh?" Huocheng was puzzled.

Jiang Lihao blurted it all out in one breath and then looked at Huocheng.

Watching Huocheng's face gradually freeze and turn uglier after hearing his words, as if he was about to take revenge at any moment, Jiang Lihao suddenly felt a twinge of regret. His mind went blank. Had he been too impulsive?

"Are you sure?" Huocheng's voice was surprisingly calm. His eyes stared down at the street below, like a king looking down from above.

Jiang Lihao snapped out of his thoughts, recalled carefully, and nodded. "I'm sure."

Those images were like a movie playing right in front of his eyes. How could he not be sure?

A faint smile gradually formed on Huocheng's lips, which then turned into a cold sneer. He looked out of the window, his eyes unfocused. After a long while, he sneered, "Why didn't I think of this possibility?"

It was as if he was mocking himself and also hinting at something.

Jiang Lihao felt uneasy. He had a feeling that something was about to happen. He whispered soothingly, "Brother Huo, don't act recklessly!"

But it was already too late. The next moment, he watched as Huocheng strode towards the door and walked out. He reached out his hand, but he couldn't even touch the corner of Huocheng's clothes.

By the time he came to his senses and chased after him, the elevator doors had already closed. He pressed the button anxiously, watching the numbers on the elevator display, and murmured impatiently, "Come on, come on!"

Finally, when the next elevator arrived, he looked at the empty lobby and felt a sense of loss.

Then, as if remembering something, he turned around and ran towards the reception desk. He quickly asked, "Where's Mr. Huo?"

The young receptionist gave a start and immediately pointed outside. "He just left." Then she squinted her eyes and said hesitantly, "Is that Mr. Huo's car out there?"

She wasn't very sure.

Jiang Lihao quickly looked back. Sure enough, it was Huocheng's black Maybach, and the engine was roaring.

He rushed over, but it was too late. The car had already driven away. Looking at the direction where even the back of the car was no longer visible, Jiang Lihao stamped his foot in regret. He cursed himself silently for walking here today. Now he could only watch helplessly.

He borrowed the receptionist's phone and called Huocheng, but it went straight to voicemail. He got even more anxious and suddenly felt dizzy.

This was just great, Jiang Lihao cursed silently.

When he finally regained his composure, he immediately perked up and rushed in the other direction.

...

When Yang Qian heard that someone was looking for her, she put down her work and went downstairs curiously. Who could be looking for her?

It couldn't be her parents, could it?

She was daydreaming as she quickly reached the lobby. Following the direction the receptionist pointed, she looked over.

From afar, she saw a strange figure. Yang Qian slowly approached. Who was this? It didn't look like Sister Sisi!

Finally, when Yang Qian got closer, the person turned around. This shocked Yang Qian to the spot.

She covered her mouth and after a long while, she whispered, "What happened to you?"

She even wondered if she was having a hallucination.

What Yang Qian saw at this moment was Jiang Lihao with a bandage on his head.

Jiang Lihao didn't answer. He gave her a cold look and said seriously, "Do you have time? Come with me."

Without waiting for Yang Qian to decline, he pulled her out.

So, the two of them sat in a coffee shop. Yang Qian tilted her head and listened to Jiang Lihao. Whenever she didn't understand something, she would ask, and he would explain.

Half an hour later, Yang Qian finally understood what he was trying to say.

"But, do you want me to tell Sister Sisi?" Yang Qian didn't understand why he came to find her. Maybe he had asked the receptionist and knew that Sister Sisi wasn't here.

Jiang Lihao suddenly paused. Originally, he thought that Gu Sisi might have a clue about where Huocheng was.

But now that he thought about it carefully, he wasn't so sure.

"Sister Sisi is in the hospital right now," Yang Qian said seriously. She gave a complicated look at the bandage on Jiang Lihao's head and was at a loss for words. She forced herself to look away.

"Forget it. I'll go find him myself," Jiang Lihao now understood why Huocheng wasn't in the company earlier.

It seemed that Gu Sisi couldn't help. He had to rely on himself.

Just as he was about to get up, Yang Qian forcibly grabbed him.

"You want to go alone?" Yang Qian laughed in disbelief. Looking at Jiang Lihao's calm expression, she pointed at his bandage. "Are you really sure?"

Seeing her doubt him, Jiang Lihao's face darkened. "Do you think I can't do it?"

"It's not that I think you can't. But if you think Brother Huo might be in danger, adding an injured person like you, do you think it'll be better?" Yang Qian knew that the person in front of her was anxious. She was afraid that he would make a stupid decision on impulse.

"I..." He paused.

"Do you want to go with me to find Sister Sisi? At least we'll have one more person. And we don't have any clues right now," Yang Qian crossed her arms, looking assertive.

Jiang Lihao thought about it seriously and then shook his head.

"Why?" Yang Qian thought he was being unreasonable.

"What do you think?" Jiang Lihao asked with a dark face.

An awkward atmosphere gradually filled the air.

"Have you regained your memory?" Yang Qian broke the silence.

"Yes." The answer was concise.

Yang Qian also gradually felt the awkwardness. Thinking about what had happened before, she finally couldn't help but burst out laughing. Seeing Jiang Lihao's face turn darker and darker like a color palette, she laughed even louder.

People around them gradually looked over. Yang Qian seemed to have been tickled and couldn't stop laughing.

Suddenly, Jiang Lihao covered her mouth and threatened fiercely, "If you keep laughing, I'll leave right now!"

Yang Qian sniffled a few times, wiped away the tears from laughing, and held back her laughter. With difficulty, she asked, "Is this why you came to find me first?"

In return, she got the expected eye - roll.
