"Cough, cough. This isn't an intimate gesture. It's attempted murder!" Jiang Lihao clutched his neck, his face flushed bright red as he coughed incessantly.
Fine! Gu Sisi and Huo Cheng exchanged another glance. They really hadn't thought too much about it.
But this explanation just seemed like they were protesting too much.
Yang Qian had already run off to another ticket counter to buy tickets.
Jiang Lihao heaved a sigh and shook his head. He was really risking his life to accompany her. Why on earth had he given up work to come and play today!
Work was so much more interesting. Just thinking about it, Jiang Lihao was filled with regret.
"She seems to be really clingy to you. What's going on between you two?" Gu Sisi recalled the scene when Yang Qian had just woken up. At that time, Yang Qian's feelings had seemed rather obvious.
The only time she had run away, she had run straight to him.
They had been together for a week, but it seemed that her relationship with Yang Qian couldn't compare to the bond between Yang Qian and Jiang Lihao.
The more Gu Sisi thought about it, the stranger it seemed. Her look at Jiang Lihao also became strange.
Jiang Lihao raised his hands in surrender. "She saw me first when she woke up from amnesia. The doctor said she'd develop a dependence."
Seeing that they still didn't believe him, he gritted his teeth. "Wasn't I like that before?"
...
Great. The explanation was in place, but the atmosphere became even more awkward. All three of them were extremely uncomfortable.
Jiang Lihao only then realized that he had said the wrong thing. Why did he have to use himself as an example?
Today was definitely not a good day to go out!
"Come on, come on. I've bought four tickets. Let's go together." Yang Qian broke the silence among them.
She was the only one who was still solely focused on the game.
The other three took the tickets one by one to ease the awkwardness.
Bumper cars. It shouldn't be a problem.
"Is this okay with you?" Huo Cheng asked Gu Sisi.
Gu Sisi nodded. Jiang Lihao also had no issue with a game that was on the ground and didn't involve ghosts.
All three of them agreed.
"Great. I'll go buy some snacks." Yang Qian was excited. She snapped her fingers. Now, she had someone to accompany her.
"Me, me, me. Take me with you." Jiang Lihao was eager to break free from this atmosphere.
What if he was left alone with the other two and they fell into another awkward situation? That would be terrible!
Jiang Lihao sauntered slowly behind Yang Qian. When she picked out the things, he would pay for them.
"You're being so nice?" Yang Qian squinted.
"It's just a treat. No big deal!"
Both of them smiled. Suddenly, their laughter stopped abruptly. Yang Qian put all the snacks in her hands into Jiang Lihao's and instructed, "Hold these. I'm going to buy something else."
"What?" Jiang Lihao's hands were full. He had just managed to hold them steady when he hurriedly shouted, "What is it?"
However, she had already run far away.
When they had just arrived at the amusement park and got out of the car, she had noticed the candied haws on the other side of the road. They looked so delicious.
She pushed through the crowd and walked towards the vendor. She bought five skewers, one for each of them and two for herself.
After Yang Qian paid and took the skewers from the vendor, she happily walked back. Who would have thought that as soon as she stepped onto the road, some fragments suddenly flashed through her mind.
She frowned and tried to think more carefully, but she couldn't remember anything.
What was this?
Yang Qian couldn't grasp those fragments. She forced a smile. She felt that the surroundings were a bit blurry. With great effort, she perked up and continued walking forward.
Cars were coming and going. She walked forward carefully. Occasionally, a car would screech to a halt in front of her. She panicked and quickened her pace.
There was another honk. Yang Qian turned to look in the other direction and saw a white car speeding straight towards her. The driver's face was contorted as he frantically turned the steering wheel, seemingly trying to avoid hitting her.
Everything around seemed to slow down. Yang Qian's mind stopped working. She stared blankly as the accident unfolded, but she was unable to avoid it.
"Bang!" The car hit someone. There was blood all over the zebra crossing.
The driver scrambled out of the car to check. The person who had been hit was covered in blood.
Yang Qian was stunned. Looking at the person on the ground, she finally let out a scream. Tears slowly rolled down her face. "Jiang Lihao! Jiang Lihao, wake up!"
At the last moment before the impact, Jiang Lihao had pushed her out of the way.
Jiang Lihao slowly opened his eyes. His lips were completely bloodless. He opened his mouth slightly. Yang Qian frantically put her ear close to him.
"That thing has been weighing on my mind. I've felt so guilty. Now, I finally don't owe you anything."
Jiang Lihao spoke haltingly. His breath was extremely weak. Then he closed his eyes.
Yang Qian watched as he fainted. She cried out, "Help! Somebody help!"
A large crowd had gathered around the accident. The road was blocked. Huo Cheng and Gu Sisi saw many people running out, so they followed. Hearing the familiar voice, they quickly pushed through the thick crowd.
They saw the two of them covered in blood, and Jiang Lihao was lying in a pool of blood.
"Qianqian, what happened?" Gu Sisi tried to keep her voice steady as she covered her mouth.
Amid the noisy crowd, Yang Qian finally heard the familiar voice.
She opened her eyes wide. Tears streamed down her face. She opened her mouth. "Save him quickly!"
After saying that, she couldn't hold on any longer and fainted in the pool of blood.
The police and ambulance rushed to the scene urgently.
The two of them in the hospital finally breathed a sigh of relief after hearing what the doctor said.
Jiang Lihao wasn't seriously injured. He had hurt his arm, but the blood loss was relatively large. He would be fine after a period of rest. Yang Qian had fainted due to excessive shock.
"You stay here and watch over them. I'll go deal with the matter at the police station first." Huo Cheng patted Gu Sisi on the back.
Gu Sisi had been holding her breath. Hearing that both of them were okay, she finally felt like she could relax.
She nodded, knowing that there were still things to be dealt with regarding this car accident.
As soon as Huo Cheng turned around, his face turned cold as ice. He suspected that there was a deeper reason behind this incident.
Gu Sisi ran back and forth between the two wards. Both of them were in the general ward, but they still hadn't woken up.
Just as Gu Sisi came out of Jiang Lihao's ward, she entered Yang Qian's ward.
Suddenly, she heard a voice.
"Sister Sisi."
Gu Sisi was stunned. She looked into the ward. Yang Qian was looking at her with wide eyes, tears welling up in her eyes, looking extremely aggrieved.
"You... you remembered?" Gu Sisi was a bit incredulous.
Who would have thought that she would regain her memory at this time?
Yang Qian nodded. Suddenly, she seemed to remember something. She propped up her still weak body and tried to get out of bed.
Gu Sisi quickly walked over to support her and asked with concern, "What are you doing? Just tell me."
Yang Qian shook her head as if this was something that Gu Sisi couldn't do for her.
She mumbled, "Sister Sisi, I want to go and check on Jiang Lihao. How is he?"
As she spoke, Yang Qian groped her way to the door of the ward.
Gu Sisi sighed. She supported her again and comforted her, "Don't be in such a hurry. He's okay now. Your condition isn't very good either. Don't rush!"
It wasn't that Gu Sisi didn't want to let her go, but the doctor had said that Yang Qian needed to rest for a while due to excessive shock.
"No, Sister Sisi. I'm fine." Yang Qian was extremely stubborn and insisted on going out. "I just want to make sure he's okay."
