"Sis Sisi, Sis Sisi?"
"Hmm? What's up?"
So lost in thought was Gu Sisi that she didn't even hear Gu Yangtao calling her.
"What's wrong with you? Your eyes are all red. Did something happen?" Gu Yangtao was a bit puzzled, perhaps noticing Gu Sisi's state.
"Nothing... It's nothing. Keep eating. Look, there's still so much." A flash of panic crossed Gu Sisi's eyes as she picked up a shrimp dumpling for Gu Yangtao.
Chewing on the shrimp dumpling, Gu Yangtao still stared at Gu Sisi with a confused look. She was sure she hadn't misseen it; Gu Sisi's eyes had turned red.
"But..."
Gu Yangtao was about to ask further, but Gu Chenfei kicked her under the table. She stared blankly at Gu Chenfei, seeing the latter looking calm as ever.
If it weren't for the pain in her foot, Gu Yangtao would really have thought she was having an illusion. Looking at Gu Sisi's obviously guilty expression, Gu Yangtao seemed to instantly understand something.
One was eating breakfast on their own, and the other was lowering their head guiltily, pretending to pick up food. Gu Yangtao thought it'd be better not to ask.
The awkward atmosphere didn't last long. Gu Yangtao was really a big eater. As she ate, the table was almost empty, and Gu Sisi finally came to her senses.
"Xiaotao, you... You can really eat. I thought you wouldn't be able to finish it all."
"Of course. Sis Sisi, you don't know my appetite. This is just a piece of cake."
Gu Sisi smiled. It was really the first time she'd seen a girl who took her big appetite as something to be proud of. Gu Yangtao was quite a unique one.
Breakfast was thus finished. Dragged here forcefully by Gu Chenfei, Gu Sisi felt refreshed after the meal. Now she really wanted to go home and hug her baby. She stretched and was just waiting for Gu Chenfei to drive the car over.
After getting in the car, Gu Sisi took out her phone and sent the usual message to report her safety. She really wanted to make a phone call, but after thinking about it, she replied with a message saying "Waiting for you to come home" and then continued looking at the scenery outside the window.
"Chenfei, aren't we going home?" Gu Sisi suddenly realized that the road they were taking wasn't the way back to the Huo family's place.
"No, we're not going home. We're going shopping. How about it?"
"Um... But I still want to go home and see the baby." Gu Sisi was a bit embarrassed. She hadn't known before that Gu Chenfei wanted to go shopping.
"Sis Sisi, it's okay. Let's just go shopping. I haven't been shopping for ages. Please accompany me, Sis Sisi~ And if I'm not wrong, you haven't been shopping for a long time either." Gu Yangtao stuck her head in front of Gu Sisi and pleaded coquettishly.
Gu Sisi had to admit that she was a bit shaken.
"Sis Sisi, there's Sister Hua and Sister Hu at home. They'll take good care of the baby. Let's just go shopping. We can even buy some clothes and toys for the baby later."
"Okay! Let's go." Gu Sisi readily agreed.
