Chapter 101: The Bar

This remark precisely hit Xia Anying's sore spot.

The wine she had spilled on the leather sofa was still trickling down along the slope of the sofa, dripping onto her high - heeled shoes.

For a moment, all the eyes in the place were fixed on her.

This made her both embarrassed and angry. She almost crushed the glass in her hand.

Fortunately, that girl didn't seem keen on continuing the entanglement. She yawned lazily and waved to the people around.

"Alright, alright, everyone disperse. Find someone to clean this sofa."

Then she motioned to a waiter.

"You, yes, you. Take me to a new booth."

After that, she followed the waiter away, acting as if she didn't care about Xia Anying at all.

Xia Anying stared fixedly at her back, wishing she could burn a hole through the girl's LV coat.

People around had expected a big showdown, but were disappointed when it fizzled out. They walked away, muttering "It's so boring" to their companions.

Xia Anying was so angry that she could hardly catch her breath.

The girl who had always come with her these days walked over timidly.

"Yingying, are you okay?"

"Do you think I'm okay? I'm about to explode with anger!"

She looked down and saw her shoes stained with wine.

Gritting her teeth, she glanced around and noticed that a few people were still stealing glances at her and whispering to each other.

To maintain her image, she had to swallow her anger.

Without even looking at the girl, she took out her phone and called Leng Wanqing.

After some cajoling, the second young miss of the Leng family agreed to send her some luxury goods.

She rolled her eyes at the ended call.

So what if she's rich? She's still a fool.

Although she had lost a lot of face tonight, getting more things from Leng Wanqing made the humiliation seem less important.

This was who - knows - how - many nights in a row that she had come to the bar.

She had thought that with her looks, all she needed to do was sit in the bar and the playboys would come to her voluntarily and spend money on her.

But instead of attracting any playboys, she had encountered a lot of unwanted suitors.

In the past few days, not only had she not earned any money, but she had almost spent all her living expenses on coming to the bar.

Moreover, she needed to buy all kinds of skincare products and clothes.

Thinking about the men she had met these days, they were either glib and only wanted to take advantage without spending money on her, or they wanted to leech off her.

It seemed that tonight would also be fruitless.

She motioned irritably to the girl she had brought.

"Xiaoya, let's go. It's boring."

Then she left without looking back, not caring if the girl behind had caught up.

The girl's name was Shen Ya. Her appearance alone made her a misfit at school.

It was even harder for her to make friends.

So Xia Anying, who was also alone, took advantage of this.

Although Shen Ya was plain - looking, she had good grades. The only thing they had in common was that Xia Anying's money came from the Fu family, while Shen Ya received government subsidies.

So neither of them had much money.

The two outcasts had come together for support.

But for Xia Anying, this girl was just a tool. Bringing her to the bar was only to make herself look better.

She stood by the roadside, stomping her feet while waiting for a taxi.

It was already cold, but for the sake of beauty, she was wearing a miniskirt and didn't even bother to wear stockings.

Shen Ya arrived late. It was really not easy for her to squeeze through the crowd with her build.

Seeing Xia Anying shivering with cold, she stepped forward and said concernedly, "Yingying, wear more next time you go out. Otherwise, you'll catch a cold."

Xia Anying rolled her eyes behind her back and replied grumpily.

"If you're so worried about me getting a cold, then lend me your coat."

Hearing this, Shen Ya sighed. After much hesitation, she took off her coat and lent it to her.

This coat was a gift from her family before she went to college. They said that she should wear new clothes when she entered college.

But Xia Anying just casually threw it on and showed no intention of returning it even after they got back to the school dormitory.

Shen Ya wanted to get it back, but was afraid of making her angry.

Biting her lower lip, she held back and watched her only "friend" go back to the dormitory.

Xia Anying had been coming back after midnight for several days, which had annoyed her roommates.

Although the school didn't have a curfew, living in a dormitory meant considering others' feelings.

But obviously, she didn't realize this.

She turned on the light with a "snap", not caring that her roommates were sleeping.

The girl in the next bunk let out an impatient "tut" when Xia Anying climbed onto her bed, then hugged her pillow and turned to the other side.

Xia Anying took note of this and held a grudge.

Once she caught a rich playboy, she would make these roommates envious!

Thinking this in her heart, she didn't show it on the surface.

She carefully pulled back the quilt and tucked herself in to warm her frozen legs.

Going to the bar was no longer a solution. The money she had left was only enough for her to eat two meals a day this month.

If all else failed, she would go ask the Fu family for money.

She pouted. It was their fault for only giving her so little money each month.

The next day, in the hospital.

Xia Sanghuan was being a bit of a nuisance as she coquettishly said to Fu Youqing, "Third sister, please let me be discharged from the hospital. Even the doctor said I can recuperate at home."

Fu Youqing was looking at her phone screen, pretending not to hear.

Having no other choice, Xia Sanghuan jumped out of bed, grabbed her third sister's arm, and kept calling out like a ghost - caller.

"Third sister, Huanhuan is so bored here. Please let Huanhuan go home, okay?"

In the end, Fu Youqing gave in. She reached out and pinched her younger sister's little face helplessly.

"I really can't win against you. Then you tell Dad yourself. As soon as Dad agrees, I'll take you out of the hospital."

Hearing that her third sister had finally relented, she quickly called her father.

As soon as the call connected, before Fu Zeming could say a word, she fired off like a machine gun.

"Hello, Dad. Huanhuan wants to be discharged from the hospital today. Is that okay?"

"The doctor also said it's okay. I can recuperate at home."

"You agree? Great, thank you, Dad!"

She hung up the phone right after, leaving Fu Zeming, who hadn't even had a chance to say a word, looking bewildered.

Although it was a bit too much for her father, she was so eager to get out that she decided to apologize to her father when she got home.

She turned off her phone to prevent her father from calling back.
