Chapter 230: Treatment

To be fair, Fu Lingshi was reluctant.

Although he was an adopted son, he had never wavered in his loyalty to the Fu family. He had always been doing his utmost to manage the Fu family's company.

The old man's current actions were nothing more than an attempt to let Fu Kai "reap the benefits without effort."

The old fox had a good plan, Xia Sanghuan thought silently.

"Huanhuan, you shouldn't take risks for this reason," he sighed. "Anyway, it's best not to go against Grandpa."

"I'll take you to plead with Grandpa now. Maybe he'll spare you." As he spoke, he reached out to grab the girl's hand.

Judging from her eldest brother's attitude, he must have misunderstood something.

Disliking the old man's way of doing things and not wanting her eldest brother to be bullied by him were indeed part of the reasons why she chose to confront Grandpa this time.

But there was another important thing.

That was Fu Kai's leg.

Since it was she who had caused his leg injury, she was also responsible for curing it.

Otherwise, it would be too late if she waited until suspicion fell on her.

Solving this big problem would also prevent the old man from causing more trouble for her father and eldest brother.

It was a win - win situation.

"No need, big brother," she gave him a reassuring smile. "This matter is not as complicated as you think. Grandpa won't deliberately make things difficult for me."

"But..." Fu Lingshi frowned, his eyes filled with unhidden worry.

"Don't you trust me?" To stop her eldest brother from worrying, she started to act coquettishly.

Seeing his sister looking at him pitifully with her big, watery eyes blinking, Fu Lingshi couldn't say anything more.

"Alright," he said helplessly as he reached out and stroked her head. "You must be careful."

"Okay," she gave her eldest brother a sweet smile and then saw him off.

She put away her relaxed expression and turned to walk towards the table.

After checking the tools, she went to bed to rest, preparing for the next day's treatment.

The next day, after breakfast, just as the girl was about to get up and leave, the old man stopped her.

"Where are you going?" he asked seriously.

"Of course, I'm going back to my bedroom," she looked at him in confusion.

"Go back to your bedroom? Didn't you say you were going to treat Xiaokai's leg?" the old lady beside him said anxiously.

"I have to go back and get my tools first," she shrugged, with an expression that seemed to say, "Do you think I'll go back on my word?"

She went upstairs and took out the medicine box from her bedroom.

She didn't expect Grandpa and Grandma to be so impatient.

It seemed that their usual imposing manner was just for show. In fact, they had been extremely anxious because of Fu Kai's leg.

"Lift your leg up," the girl said to Fu Kai sitting opposite after everything was ready.

"How can I lift it? Don't you know that my leg has no feeling at all now?" Fu Kai looked up at his little sister.

She stood there, giving him an inexplicable sense of oppression, which made him feel uncomfortable. So he unconsciously became irritable.

Xia Sanghuan's eyes darkened.

"Of course, use your hands. Don't tell me your hands are broken too?" she said sarcastically.

"You..." The girl suddenly bent down, getting very close to him.

"Fourth brother, I advise you to be obedient. Otherwise, I can't guarantee what will happen to your leg after I stick this needle in," her voice was cold. Wearing a medical mask, most of her face was covered. Only her pair of black eyes were extremely intimidating.

The others had stayed in the living room as she had instructed, quite far away from them. And the girl had her back to Grandpa and Grandma, completely blocking Fu Kai.

Taking advantage of the fact that they couldn't notice what was going on here, Xia Sanghuan threatened this useless fourth brother without any hesitation.

Fu Kai was stunned for a moment, opened his mouth, and said nothing more.

The girl just watched coldly as he clumsily lifted his leg onto the makeshift table.

She removed all the bandages on his leg and then began to examine his injury.

The wounds had almost healed, leaving only a few rather hideous scars.

"Do you still need to wrap bandages in this situation?" she stood up and took out a pen to write something on the paper.

"What's it to you? Just cure my leg," he replied angrily.

"Your legs won't get better no matter how long you wrap them, and it may even lead to cell necrosis," she added mercilessly.

Seeing his suddenly panicked expression, she raised her eyebrows. It seemed that it was his own request. Otherwise, the hospital couldn't be so stupid as to keep bandaging his legs until now.

She reached out and pressed a few acupoints on his leg.

"Do you feel anything?" she looked up and asked.

"No."

"What about here?"

"Still no."

She wrote something else on the paper.

Seeing her cold - faced look, Fu Kai's heart was filled with uneasiness.

He had seen so many doctors during this period and was almost desperate about his leg.

Even the two elders of the Fu family couldn't help but walk over.

"How is our Xiaokai?" the old lady asked worriedly.

"It's okay," the girl put the pen and paper on the table beside her.

Then she took out the silver needles that had been soaking in alcohol at the beginning and pretended to feel for the acupoints.

Actually, she didn't need to do this at all. It was just to clear herself of suspicion. If she had started acupuncture right away, wouldn't it have been like "proclaiming one's guilt by a clumsy denial"?

After feeling for about five minutes, she slowly inserted the silver needles into the acupoints.

"Okay. Wait. You'll feel something soon," she washed her hands with alcohol and instructed. "Don't move during this period. Your leg may feel numb later."

Then she packed up her tools and walked towards the living room, showing no intention of continuing to take care of Fu Kai.

The two elders had no choice but to sit next to their grandson in case something went wrong.

"Is it done?" Seeing her come back, Fu Zeming quickly stood up.

Although he didn't show it usually, the girl knew that her father still cared about his fourth son. No matter how useless the fourth son was, he was still the flesh and blood of her father and mother. It was natural for him to feel sorry for his son.

She nodded to her father.

"Just wait for an hour and a half."

Fu Zeming hesitated for a moment and then walked towards Fu Kai.

"You've worked hard, Huanhuan. Come and drink some water," Fu Moning handed her a glass of warm water.

She took off her mask and drank.

"Huanhuan, how's Fu Kai's leg?" Fu Lingshi asked cautiously beside her.

The girl looked at him helplessly. That man had caused so much trouble to her eldest brother, yet her eldest brother still cared about him.
