Chapter 255 Meeting

After Xia Anying recovers, I'll take her to buy a new phone.

While thinking this, Xia Sanghuan picked up the phone.

There was no note on the call, just a string of numbers.

Why is it an unknown caller?

The girl frowned and answered the call.

"Anying, you finally answered the phone..."

Before she could say a word, a familiar yet strange voice came from the other end of the phone.

Since the voice had been processed by the current, the girl couldn't recognize it for a moment.

"Who are you?"

Thinking it was a call from one of Xia Anying's hanger - on friends, her tone couldn't help but turn a bit harsh.

The person on the other end seemed to be startled by her and didn't dare to speak anymore.

After a long while, the other person timidly asked,

"Excuse me, isn't this Xia Anying's phone?"

It was only after hearing this familiar tone that Xia Sanghuan reacted.

"Are you... Shen Ya?"

"Yes. May I ask who you are?"

The girl let out a sigh of relief. "I'm Xia Sanghuan."

Her voice returned to its normal state.

"Student Xia Sanghuan?"

Shen Ya was a bit surprised.

"Why do you have Anying's phone?"

"Well, actually..."

The girl briefly explained to her that she and Xia Anying were sisters.

Even though she had kept it very concise, Shen Ya was still so shocked that she was speechless for a while.

"I've never heard Anying mention it..."

Half - way through, she suddenly realized she had said the wrong thing.

"Sorry, I..."

"It's okay."

The girl replied without any care.

She had been worrying about whether she could contact Shen Ya, but unexpectedly, the "prey" had come to her on its own.

"Sanghuan, why did Anying take a leave of absence from school?"

After the two exchanged a few pleasantries, Shen Ya got straight to the point.

"Some of her old ailments have recurred. The doctor advised her to rest."

"So our family simply applied for a leave of absence for her so that she could recuperate in peace."

As the girl was speaking, she glanced at her sister beside her, afraid that she might suddenly do something that would expose a flaw in this conversation.

Thankfully, her sister still seemed oblivious, concentrating on the puzzle table game provided by the hospital.

"Can I talk to her now?"

Shen Ya asked again.

It was obvious from her words and attitude that she still cared a lot about Xia Anying.

The girl pursed her lips, her brain working at full speed.

"She's in the ward and has fallen asleep. I'll ask her to call you back after she has rested, okay?"

Her voice was gentle and sincere, making it impossible to refuse.

Shen Ya had no choice but to give up. She said "Goodbye" and hung up the phone.

"Xia Anying, do you still remember Shen Ya?"

She gently patted her sister's shoulder, trying to get her attention.

Xia Anying stopped what she was doing and looked back at her.

She thought for a long time but finally shook her head.

"I don't remember."

This was a tough situation.

The girl looked at the lock screen of the phone and tentatively entered Xia Anying's birthday.

The password was incorrect.

Not willing to give up, she entered Xia Laosi's birthday.

The password was still incorrect.

She sighed and put the phone back on the table.

She had enough self - awareness not to try her own birthday.

Xia Anying glanced at her, then picked up the phone.

She tapped the screen twice and then handed the unlocked phone to her.

"Here you are."

Her words and actions were like those of a child seeking praise, and there was even a glimmer of expectation in her eyes.

"You're amazing."

Looking at her, the girl felt a mix of emotions.

But she still patiently stroked her head.

Proud of the praise, Xia Anying happily continued to play with the toy in her hand.

Although her sister had voluntarily unlocked the phone for her, the girl still knew her limits.

She went straight to the phone's address book and found Shen Ya's contact information.

After saving her phone number in her own phone, Xia Sanghuan turned off the phone and put it back in place.

She used the prepared conversation templates to communicate with Xia Anying a few more times, then noted down her sister's reactions, deciding to study them carefully when she had time.

She stood up and was about to leave.

"Are you leaving?"

Noticing her movement, Xia Anying also stood up.

"Yes."

"You have to be a good girl and listen to the nannies here."

"You also have to go to the garden to play on time. Do you understand?"

Feeling her sister's reluctant and disappointed emotions, she had to harden her heart and say goodbye.

After all, she had a lot of things to do at the moment and simply didn't have the time to take care of her.

After leaving her sister's room, she found that most of the irritation caused by Leng Chuanjin had disappeared.

She decided to avoid contact with him until her anger subsided.

The next day was the weekend. Xia Sanghuan didn't want to delay any longer. At nine o'clock, she directly called Shen Ya.

"Hello. Are you free today?"

While organizing the symbols and data she had previously summarized from the information Wei Linjun had given to Shen Ya, she asked.

"Me?"

There was a rustling sound on the phone.

"I'm free today."

Shen Ya glanced at her class schedule and replied.

"Are you available to come out? I have a few pharmacy - related questions I'd like to ask you."

"I'm available."

"Then shall we meet at the coffee shop on Center Street?"

After getting a positive answer, the girl picked up her backpack and prepared to go out.

"Okay."

"However, I don't have a means of transportation, so I might be a bit late."

"I'll pick you up!"

Shen Ya was taken aback.

"I'll pick you up. Send me your location."

Seeing that the other person didn't respond, the girl added another sentence.

After they had made the arrangements, she hung up the phone.

She walked downstairs, completely ignoring Leng Chuanjin and Leng Wanqing in the living room. She went out, got in the car, and drove straight to Shen Ya's location.

Shen Ya was still at school, which was quite far from the Leng family's house.

But all these were secondary to what Xia Sanghuan was currently investigating.

Before having a conflict with Leng Chuanjin, she had wanted him to help her.

But - forget it. It was better to find a student in the same major to discuss with than to ask him.

She thought angrily.

Although on the surface she didn't even give him a glance, she still noticed that the man had been staring intently at her when she passed by the living room.

His burning gaze made it impossible for her to meet his eyes.

Although the journey was long, fortunately, there was no traffic jam and not many traffic lights. She soon arrived at the school gate.

As soon as she got out of the car, she saw Shen Ya standing at the school gate.

She waved at her and walked over.

"Let's go."

After saying that, she pulled her into the car.

Xia Sanghuan didn't miss the looks others were giving them. She also knew that her appearance this time would cause some trouble for Shen Ya - there was nothing she could do about it. The car arranged for her by her eldest brother was just too eye - catching.
