Chapter 289: Birthday

The cruise ship sailed swiftly, and soon the scenery in front gradually came into view.

The cruise ship docked at the port of the island. Leng Chuanjin supported Xia Sanghuan as they walked down the gangway. Before she could even take a good look at the scene in front of her, streamers cascaded down on her face.

"Happy birthday, Huanhuan!"

A familiar voice rang in her ear. The girl looked at the shore in astonishment.

Her father, elder brother, second elder sister, and third elder sister were waiting for her.

Even her grandparents and Fu Kai had come.

"What's wrong, Huanhuan? Why are you standing there in a daze?"

Seeing that she didn't respond, Fu Moning walked forward worriedly and took her hand.

"Chuanjin, did you...?"

She was just about to "accuse" Leng Chuanjin, who had occupied Huanhuan for the whole day, but was tugged by her younger sister.

"No."

Her voice trembled slightly.

"Thank you."

She summoned all her strength to hold back her tears. If she cried, it would be such a dampener for the family who had carefully prepared this birthday for her.

She took a deep breath and regained her usual composure.

"What are we standing here for? Let's go quickly!"

Fu Youqing took Xia Sanghuan's other hand and led her into the venue.

As soon as they walked through the floral arch, pink and red petals began to flutter from the sky.

The music started, and an oversized teddy bear came into view. It even seemed a bit out of place in this scene.

"This must have been arranged by big brother."

She pointed at the bear.

"I said we should move it away."

Fu Youqing replied disgruntledly.

"Big brother is as stubborn as a mule. He just wouldn't agree."

The three sisters walked in front, whispering bad things about Fu Lingshi. In fact, it was just Fu Moning and Fu Youqing complaining to Xia Sanghuan about how stubborn their big brother was when it came to arranging the scene.

"So this is why you've been so mysterious these days?"

The girl took the opportunity to ask a question while her sisters paused for breath.

She raised her eyebrows and looked at them teasingly.

"Huanhuan, please don't be angry. We've put so much effort into this."

Fu Youqing knew exactly how to deal with her younger sister. She didn't hesitate to act coquettishly.

The girl couldn't help but burst out laughing.

She couldn't be angry with her family. She was just a bit worried.

But fortunately, it turned out to be a false alarm.

They led the girl all the way to a table in the middle of the venue.

There was a ten - tiered cake on the table. The decorations on the cake, when viewed from the top down, spelled out the words "Happy birthday, dear Huanhuan".

"Huanhuan, come and cut the cake."

Fu Moning put a delicate knife in her hand.

"Shall I cut it now?"

Before she could make another move, a "click" sound came from not far away.

She immediately turned her gaze in that direction.

Ever since she was framed last time, she had a bad impression of those reporters who took random pictures of her.

"Don't worry about them. Just focus on cutting the cake."

Leng Chuanjin walked behind her at some point and whispered to her.

"They'll leave after taking a few pictures."

Sure enough, after taking pictures of the girl cutting the cake, the reporters left one by one.

She then realized that these media reporters had been invited by her father.

"Here, a gift."

Fu Moning and Fu Youqing walked over with a box each, smiling.

"Thank you, sister."

The girl reached out and took them.

"And here's mine."

Fu Lingshi also handed over a box.

"Huanhuan, here, from dad."

Fu Zeming also came over.

"Huanhuan, here's this."

Even her grandma walked over shakily.

Seeing that Xia Sanghuan could hardly hold all the gifts, Leng Chuanjin quickly reached out to help her carry some.

"The last one is from me."

The man helped her put all the gift boxes on a table and then turned to her.

"Wasn't the amusement park today my gift?"

The girl asked in surprise.

"Of course not."

The man couldn't help but laugh.

"Is that all you expect?"

He led her in a circle and finally stopped in an open space.

He stepped aside, revealing the helicopter behind him.

"Are you going to give this helicopter to me...?"

The girl quickly waved her hands.

"No, it's too expensive."

Leng Chuanjin thought he might die laughing tonight.

"Of course not."

He suddenly closed the distance between them.

"But if you want it, I can give it to you. The prerequisite is that you move back to my place."

"You've got a good imagination."

The girl glared at him.

"Okay, I won't tease you anymore."

After laughing enough, the man led her onto the helicopter.

"Start it."

He said to the pilot in the front seat.

He fastened the seat - belts for himself and the girl, and the propeller of the helicopter began to spin rapidly.

The huge roar made the girl involuntarily tighten her hand that was holding Leng Chuanjin's.

Fortunately, the place where the helicopter was parked had been turned into a concrete ground. Otherwise, sand would have already filled the cockpit.

With a strong sense of weightlessness, the helicopter took off.

The helicopter flew up for a while and then hovered in mid - air.

"Then what?"

She asked.

"Shh."

The man pointed to her right.

"Just wait a bit longer."

Less than half a minute later, a gorgeous firework exploded on the horizon.

Then, two, three, more and more fireworks bloomed in the night sky.

They were extremely gorgeous. Because they were being watched from the air, the fireworks seemed especially large and clear.

"Are they beautiful?"

Leng Chuanjin looked at Xia Sanghuan's profile.

"Yeah."

The girl was completely entranced and replied absent - mindedly.

"Am I not as good - looking as them?"

The man asked again.

The girl looked at him and then at the fireworks.

"Indeed."

She said sincerely.

"Let's go. I don't want to watch anymore. Land it."

He pretended to be angry and said to the pilot.

"Don't. You're the most good - looking, okay?"

Although she said so, the way the girl kept staring at the fireworks was not at all convincing.

"We didn't get to watch the fireworks last time."

"I've prepared a more magnificent one for you this time."

The man suddenly said.

Hearing this, the girl's heart was suddenly touched.

He still remembered that fireworks show they missed.

The fireworks show lasted for a full twenty minutes. During this period, Xia Sanghuan stared at them intently the whole time. She only spared a glance at Leng Chuanjin when he interrupted her occasionally.

Although he was a bit jealous, seeing her so happy, he was also satisfied with this fireworks show.

After all, he had personally participated in designing it. It was the biggest surprise he wanted to give her.

"Sanghuan."

He suddenly called her name.

"What's up?"

Xia Sanghuan turned her head to look at him.

"Happy birthday."

Leng Chuanjin leaned forward and left a kiss on her forehead.

"My little princess."
