Chapter 87: The Illusion of Love

Su Xiaoliu blinked her almond-shaped eyes and looked at Zhong Fengyue. Had he actually believed what she said?

A look of joy flashed across her face. She quickly grabbed Zhong Fengyue's sleeve and said, "Okay!"

The two of them climbed up the hillside together. Su Xiaoliu led Zhong Fengyue to the place where the golden light had disappeared. She searched around and suddenly spotted the cave.

"This is the place!" She pointed at the cave in the mountainside and looked up at Zhong Fengyue.

Zhong Fengyue walked over and peered inside. His brows furrowed slightly. It was pitch-black and bottomless. He turned to look at Su Xiaoliu. Seeing her excited expression, he raised the corners of his mouth and said with a smile, "Let's go in."

Su Xiaoliu nodded and followed Zhong Fengyue inside.

The front of the cave was completely dark, silent and dim. Their footsteps sounded unusually clear as they walked.

Zhong Fengyue looked inside, his brows furrowed. How could there be such a cave in the Valley of Ten Thousand Witherings?

They didn't know how long they had walked when there was a faint light ahead. Su Xiaoliu poked half of her head out from behind Zhong Fengyue and looked forward.

"This place should have been deserted for a long time," Zhong Fengyue said softly.

Even though his voice was very soft, it echoed in the empty cave for a long time.

Su Xiaoliu tightened her grip on Zhong Fengyue's clothes and whispered, "Yes."

Suddenly, they came to an open space. Su Xiaoliu walked out from behind Zhong Fengyue.

It was a cave. Inside, there was a stone bed and a stone table. There were several paintings on the stone table, and writing brushes, ink, paper, and inkstones were placed beside it. In the not-so-large cave, there were a few candles lit on the cliff.

The candlelight flickered, and everything was silent.

Su Xiaoliu looked up at Zhong Fengyue. Zhong Fengyue pursed his diamond-shaped lips. He looked down at Su Xiaoliu and said softly, "Something's not right. Someone should have been here." His gaze swept over the candles on the cliff. "These candles are still lit, so there should be someone living here."

Su Xiaoliu felt that this place was too strange. She subconsciously grabbed Zhong Fengyue's sleeve, looked around, and said, "How many people are there in the Valley of Ten Thousand Witherings?"

Zhong Fengyue shook his head slightly, looked at the cave, and said with his diamond-shaped lips slightly parted, "As far as I know, there aren't many people actually living here. And the divine doctor and the others never mentioned that there was anyone else here."

"Could it be one of the subordinates living here?" Su Xiaoliu looked up at Zhong Fengyue and said softly.

Zhong Fengyue walked to the stone table and gently flipped through the paintings on it.

Su Xiaoliu followed him. Her eyes swept over the paintings, and her mind suddenly jolted...

"Xiaoliu?" Zhong Fengyue's voice seemed to come from a thousand miles away. It took a long time to reach Su Xiaoliu's ears.

Su Xiaoliu slowly looked up at Zhong Fengyue and found that he was looking at her worriedly.

Su Xiaoliu shook her head, reached out to rub her head, frowned, and said, "It must be the tonic medicine. My head hurts a bit now."

"Are you okay?" Zhong Fengyue looked at Su Xiaoliu and pursed his lips.

Su Xiaoliu curved the corners of her mouth, looked at Zhong Fengyue, and said, "I'm okay."

Zhong Fengyue nodded and said softly, "That's good." Then he lowered his head and continued looking at the paintings.

Su Xiaoliu also looked at the paintings on the stone table.

The first painting depicted a green pond surrounded by mist. There was a phoenix head at each of the four corners of the pond, and water was flowing down from the phoenix's beak. Petals were floating on the pond, and there were several rockeries not far away. It was like a fairyland, extremely beautiful.

The second painting showed a room filled with red silk. A red veil gently covered the wooden bed. There was a sandalwood table not far away, and a flower cage stool was quietly placed there. The red candles were gently lit, illuminating the whole room. The gorgeous red silk was so lifelike that it was fascinating.

Su Xiaoliu quietly looked at these paintings. The places in the paintings were extremely beautiful, but she couldn't tell exactly what was so beautiful about them.

"The phoenix roams, the phoenix roams, the phoenix perches on the branch..." This sentence suddenly flashed through her mind.

Her lively almond-shaped eyes gradually became unfocused.

"The phoenix roams, the phoenix roams..."

Su Xiaoliu slowly raised her head and looked at Zhong Fengyue.

Zhong Fengyue lowered his head and saw Su Xiaoliu staring at him without blinking. He thought she was feeling unwell and softly asked, "What's wrong?"

Su Xiaoliu quietly looked at him, her almond-shaped eyes slightly unfocused.

Under the white gauze hat, Zhong Fengyue frowned slightly. He couldn't help but purse his lips and said, "Xiaoliu?"

Su Xiaoliu looked at him and suddenly gently curved the corners of her mouth and whispered, "Situ Qianyue."

Zhong Fengyue's black eyes widened in shock. His whole body froze, and his diamond-shaped lips slightly parted.

What did she just... just say?

Su Xiaoliu slowly walked up to him, reached out to hug his waist, buried her head in his chest, and whispered, "Situ Qianyue..."

Zhong Fengyue looked at Su Xiaoliu in disbelief. His rosy diamond-shaped lips tightened slightly, and his black eyes couldn't help but tremble.

Zhong Fengyue moved his diamond-shaped lips, looked at Su Xiaoliu who was tightly hugging him, and murmured, "Xiaoliu..."

How did she know about him...

Suddenly, Su Xiaoliu let go of the hand that was hugging his waist. She took a few steps back gently, then raised her head and looked at him with her slightly unfocused almond-shaped eyes.

Her beautiful heart-shaped face was slightly pink at the moment. Her temples were as black as a raven's feathers, and she was charming and coquettish. Her red lips and white teeth, and the corners of her mouth were slightly raised. She quietly looked at him, reached out her hand, and her slender fingers gently untied the belt on her body...

Her green robe slipped off, revealing a seductive shoulder. A few strands of black hair fell on her fair neck, exuding a charming charm.

Zhong Fengyue was stunned. He came to his senses. Seeing Su Xiaoliu's empty almond-shaped eyes, under the white gauze hat, he frowned slightly, quickly pulled up the robe that had slipped to her shoulder, then picked her up horizontally, took a long stride, and walked out of the cave...

After walking out of the cave, the sun was blinding. Zhong Fengyue looked down at Su Xiaoliu. She had fallen into a deep sleep.

He pursed his rosy diamond-shaped lips, hugged Su Xiaoliu, tapped his foot on the ground, and quickly flew back to their residence.

At the entrance of the cave on the mountainside, a golden light flew by and disappeared into the air...

The crescent moon was like a hook, and the candlelight flickered.

Chu Weixin withdrew his hand, glanced at Su Xiaoliu who was sleeping on the bed, then looked at Mo Xin who was looking worriedly on one side and Zhong Fengyue who had his diamond-shaped lips tightly pursed. He said indifferently, "She has consumed too much physical strength, which has caused her body to be extremely exhausted. That's why she has fallen into a deep sleep. She'll be fine after a night's rest. There's no serious problem."

Consumed too much physical strength?

Zhong Fengyue frowned slightly. Su Xiaoliu had always been with him and hadn't done anything else. How could she have consumed so much physical strength?

Moreover, in the cave, Su Xiaoliu's extremely abnormal behavior... What on earth was going on?

Zhong Fengyue raised his head, looked at Chu Weixin, and said softly, "May I ask, divine doctor, besides you and Mrs. Xiao, are there any other people living in the Valley of Ten Thousand Witherings?"

Mo Xin was slightly stunned and looked up at Chu Weixin. Chu Weixin's cold eyes narrowed slightly. He looked at Zhong Fengyue and said softly, "There is one."

Under the white gauze hat, his rosy diamond-shaped lips moved slightly. He asked, "Who?"

Chu Weixin looked at Zhong Fengyue, and his cold eyes glistened.

"The Painting Immortal Feng Yu Fei."
