Chapter 59 Frightened

Mo Qinghuan sat in front of the dressing table after taking a bath. Dan'er was combing her hair behind her.

Mu Yanming walked in. Dan'er tactfully withdrew.

"I've taken care of the thing you asked me to do," Mo Qinghuan said without turning around as she dried her hair.

Mu Yanming just gave a faint "hmm", then took off his cloak and hung it on the screen before walking to the bed and sitting down.

Mo Qinghuan saw Mu Yanming's series of actions in the bronze mirror. She guessed that he must be very tired today, so she didn't ask anything.

She originally wanted to ask about the assassination and the rumor today, but after thinking about it, she decided not to.

She walked to the door, lifted her dress and went out. Mu Yanming didn't call her either.

After a while, Mo Qinghuan came back with a bowl of steaming porridge in her hand.

"Drink this before you go to sleep," she said as she put the porridge on the table. Mu Yanming felt a warm feeling in his heart when he saw the steaming porridge. He got up and walked over.

However, before he could pick up the bowl, suddenly, a dart shot into the doorframe.

Mu Yanming walked over and pulled out the dart. There was a note on the dart. Mu Yanming scanned the surrounding walls but didn't see anyone.

Mo Qinghuan also scanned around but found nothing...

"What does it say?" Mo Qinghuan leaned over, but Mu Yanming crumpled the note into a ball and clenched it in his hand.

She was stunned for a moment and then went into the room. Mu Yanming put on his cloak and went out.

After he left, Mo Qinghuan walked to the door and gently stroked the mark left by the dart on the doorframe. It was very neat.

The person who could easily throw the dart into the doorframe must have very strong internal strength. She followed the direction the dart came from and sure enough found some messy footprints at the foot of the wall.

She simulated the direction of the footprints and a sense of doubt rose in her heart.

"Miss, what are you doing here?" Dan'er came over with a cloak and put it on her.

"It's nothing. Let's go back," Mo Qinghuan said.

Just as she was about to leave, her attention was suddenly attracted by the corridor on the right.

"Where does this lead to?"

Dan'er shook her head. "I don't know." Just then, Shuang'er also ran over.

"Miss, I know," she said proudly, patting her chest. Dan'er and Mo Qinghuan glanced at each other and couldn't help laughing.

"I heard from the servants in the mansion that this is a forbidden area. Only the butler can go in. I secretly observed several times. Every time Butler Zhong goes in, he will carry a big basket of raw meat."

Mo Qinghuan looked at the high courtyard again and then withdrew her gaze. She gave a faint smile to Dan'er and Shuang'er. "Okay, let's go back. Shuang'er, remember, this is not the General's Mansion. Put away your little cleverness and don't try to find out any information in the Regent's Mansion."

Shuang'er obediently said "oh".

Back in the room, Mo Qinghuan went to bed. Before long, she fell into a deep sleep.

She didn't know how long she had slept when suddenly a gust of wind blew open the door. She opened her eyes and sat up. She looked outside and saw a white mist floating in. Then, as if possessed, she followed it out.

She came to the courtyard. She looked around and saw no one guarding it. The courtyard door was also unlocked, so she walked in.

As soon as she entered, she felt a chill surrounding her. She rubbed her arms.

There was a quiet path inside. There were rockeries on both sides. Behind a row of rooftops, there were bamboo plants. When the wind blew, they made a rustling sound.

She walked deeper and saw a pavilion. It seemed that there was a figure standing there. It looked like Mu Yanming.

She walked over and stood in front of the steps. She called out, "Mu Yanming."

The man slowly turned around. It was really Mu Yanming, but the man's head suddenly began to grow longer. In a flash, it stretched in front of Mo Qinghuan and turned into a giant python with a gaping mouth.

"Ah!" She woke up with a start and sat up in bed.

Dan'er heard the noise and rushed in, opening the door.

"Miss, are you okay?" She took a handkerchief and wiped the sweat off Mo Qinghuan's forehead.

Only then did she notice that Mo Qinghuan was soaked all over. Her hair was sticking to her face and her face was extremely pale.

"I'm okay," Mo Qinghuan said, but her eyebrows were tightly knitted. When she gently closed her eyes, the image of the python rushing towards her appeared in her mind. She was so frightened that she immediately opened her eyes again.

Dan'er noticed something was wrong. "Miss, did you have a nightmare?"

Mo Qinghuan tightly grasped the brocade quilt. Her fingertips turned slightly white. "I'm okay. You can go out first."

"But, miss..." Dan'er was a little worried and wanted to stay with her.

"I told you to go out," Mo Qinghuan's voice rose a few decibels. Although Dan'er was worried, she still withdrew and closed the door.

Mo Qinghuan raised her hand to support her forehead but didn't dare to close her eyes again. She just leaned against the headboard and didn't sleep all night.

When dawn was approaching, Mu Yanming came back. He saw her sitting against the bed with a very ugly face.

He walked over and sat in front of the bed. He raised his hand and touched Mo Qinghuan's forehead. "Are you feeling unwell? Do you want me to call the imperial physician?"

Mo Qinghuan forced a bitter smile. "I'm okay. Besides, have you forgotten? I'm a doctor myself."

She lifted the quilt and got out of bed, but suddenly felt dizzy and almost fell forward.

Fortunately, Mu Yanming caught her in time. "You still say you're okay?" He helped Mo Qinghuan sit on the edge of the bed.

"Baike, go and call the imperial physician," he said.

Outside the door, Baike let out a long sigh to the sky!!!

"God, send a thunderbolt to strike me dead," he wailed. He had been searching for the eldest prince all night through wind and moonlight. Just as he came back and hadn't even taken a sip of water, he was sent on an errand again. At this moment, he even felt like dying.

However, he had to go. After his wailing, he still had to do the job.

After about a quarter of an hour, the imperial physician came. During this time, Mo Qinghuan was forced to lie in bed and was not allowed to get out of bed or move.

"Your humble servant pays respects to the Regent," the imperial physician said.

Mu Yanming waved his hand. "Okay, examine her first."

Mo Qinghuan felt speechless. She just didn't sleep all night and had a bit of hypoglycemia. Besides, she got up too quickly, so she felt dizzy for a moment. Moreover, she had already said that she was a doctor. This Mu Yanming was really something. She really didn't know what he was up to.

She helplessly stretched out her hand and placed it on the pulse pillow. After a while, the imperial physician put away the pulse pillow.

"Your Highness, the Princess Consort has just been a bit frightened. There's nothing serious. I'll prescribe a few doses of soothing tea for the Princess Consort. After she drinks it, she'll be fine," the imperial physician said.

Hearing this, Mu Yanming's eyebrows finally relaxed a bit, but Mo Qinghuan frowned.

Oh, how did this imperial physician know that she was frightened? Could it be that he didn't just examine people but could also see other things...

Thinking of this, she shivered. What was going on? She was an atheist!

However, what the imperial physician said was indeed right. She was really frightened by the nightmare.

It was really unbelievable. It seemed that she had to have an academic exchange with this old divine doctor when she had the chance.

Mu Yanming saw Mo Qinghuan in a daze and coughed lightly.

"How did you get frightened?" He stared into Mo Qinghuan's eyes.
