Chapter 151: The Foolish Jinghua

"Let go! You stupid woman, release me quickly!" Mo Qinghuan reached out and grabbed her wrist. Fortunately, she was seriously injured, so Mo Qinghuan didn't have to exert much effort to pry her fingers open.

Otherwise, she really didn't know how the situation would turn out!

Just as she was about to question A Tahuan why she had tried to strangle her, A Tahuan fell backward and fainted again.

"Ridiculous," she muttered, her cheeks puffed out in anger. But considering that stabbing her to death with a needle might cause trouble for Mu Yanming, she calmed down and continued to administer the transfusion to A Tahuan.

This time, the process went smoothly. By the end of the transfusion, A Tahuan still hadn't woken up.

Mo Qinghuan packed up her things and walked out, where she saw Mu Yanming talking to Lu Zixiu.

She walked over and stood in front of them.

"How is she?" Mu Yanming asked.

Mo Qinghuan looked up at his face and noticed no particular emotion. He didn't seem overly concerned or nervous.

So she replied, "She seems to be seriously injured, but actually, they're just minor wounds. She'll recover as long as she takes good care of herself."

"She still hasn't woken up, right?" Mu Yanming asked again.

She gave a bitter smile and showed him the bruise on her neck. "She woke up for a moment and grabbed my neck. Her eyes glowed green, and the hatred in them was so intense that it seemed as if she wanted to devour me. I have no idea what's going on, and I didn't dare to ask."

Mu Yanming reached out and gently brushed his fingers over her neck. His fingertips were slightly cold, causing her to instinctively shrink her neck.

After pausing in mid - air for a moment, his fingertips retracted back into his sleeve.

"Zixiu, if you're free in the next few days, go to Hanyue Villa to check on Hanyue," Mu Yanming said. Lu Zixiu nodded and then looked at Mo Qinghuan.

"Princess Consort, Hanyue's condition..."

Mo Qinghuan looked at Mu Yanming. He blinked, and she was puzzled, so she blinked back at him.

Seeing them exchanging glances, Lu Zixiu left with a smile, fanning himself.

"Have you caught the person who injured A Tahuan?"

She lowered her head and stared at the bluestone - paved path on the ground.

Mu Yanming, on the other hand, was looking straight ahead, as if there was something at that angle that had always attracted his attention.

"Not yet," Mu Yanming replied coldly.

Suddenly, Mo Qinghuan remembered something. She tugged on Mu Yanming's sleeve and looked up at him. "Hey, I want to ask you something."

Mu Yanming seemed confused.

He stared into Mo Qinghuan's eyes. "Impossible. I didn't do anything."

Mo Qinghuan was stunned. His sharp, eagle - like eyes fixed on her.

"I haven't even asked yet. Why are you so eager to answer?"

She squinted at Mu Yanming. Mu Yanming cleared his throat and walked into the house.

Mo Qinghuan quickly followed him.

"All you need to do is keep her alive. I'll have others investigate the rest," he said as he stopped at the door.

He seemed to be hesitating whether to go in or not.

Mo Qinghuan caught up and peeked inside. "If you want to go in, just go and take a look."

Mu Yanming stepped in. A Tahuan was still unconscious, lying on the bed with a pale, bloodless face.

Mo Qinghuan carefully studied Mu Yanming's face. After making sure she didn't see any expression she didn't like, she let out a sigh of relief and walked out.

...

Early the next morning, Mo Qinghuan had just gotten up.

She was about to go and check on A Tahuan's recovery when Dan'er walked over with a visiting card.

"Your Highness, please take a look," Dan'er said.

Mo Qinghuan took it and flipped through it casually. She looked at Dan'er with a puzzled expression. "What is this?"

"Your Highness, didn't you agree to hold a tea - tasting party to get to know the noble ladies and wives in the capital? So this servant went ahead and made the preparations," Dan'er replied.

She nodded. "I remember. You did mention this. But the situation in the mansion is special now. Many people have seen A Tahuan in the palace. What if they come and don't see the nominal second wife? What should I say then?"

Dan'er nodded thoughtfully. "You're right... What should we do? This servant has prepared everything..."

Mo Qinghuan held the visiting card and thought for a moment. "Alright, you can go ahead with it. But cross out these two names. I don't want any trouble from them."

"Your Highness, this servant also thought about not inviting these two ladies at first. But it didn't seem appropriate. We were afraid that you might be criticized because of this, so this servant took the visiting card to discuss it with Captain Bai. In the end, we all agreed that these two ladies should still be invited."

"So, Your Highness, what do you think?"

Mo Qinghuan rolled her eyes.

"Since you've already made the decision, then so be it."

She walked towards the side hall and saw Bai Ke at the door.

After entering the courtyard, she also saw Jinghua.

"Jinghua, weren't you supposed to keep an eye on Leng Hanyue at Hanyue Villa?"

Jinghua nodded and then quickly shook his head.

"Reporting to Your Highness, Captain Bai said that he needed to protect the safety of Yanyang Hall, so he transferred this subordinate back to guard the side hall."

"I see."

Just as she was about to go in, Jinghua suddenly reached out and blocked her way.

She widened her eyes in disbelief.

"What do you mean by this?"

"The Prince said this morning that starting from now, no one is allowed to enter the side hall except him, unless they have his order."

Bai Ke had just brought the morning meal for Jinghua. As soon as he walked over, he saw this scene.

Mo Qinghuan was standing angrily at the door. Seeing this, Bai Ke was so scared that he didn't even have time to put down the morning meal in his hand before rushing over.

He handed the food to Jinghua, who happily took it.

Bai Ke smiled at Mo Qinghuan and then gave Jinghua a hard knock on the head.

"Jinghua, are you stupid?"

Jinghua was so angry that he put the food back into Bai Ke's hand.

"You keep calling me stupid! I'll fight you!"

Saying that, he reached out to push Bai Ke.

Bai Ke didn't move but just stared at him. Immediately, Jinghua stood there obediently.

"Why do you say I'm stupid?"

Bai Ke let out a helpless bitter smile. "You forgot what I told you. When the Prince said 'no one', he didn't include the Princess Consort. I've told you this so many times. Why can't you remember? Can you blame me for calling you stupid?"

Mo Qinghuan looked at Jinghua. He looked as if he understood but also as if he didn't.

"Can I go in now?"

She deliberately smiled at Jinghua, who instantly felt his hair stand on end.

He took several steps back. "Of course you can enter, Princess Consort. Brother Bai said that you're not included in the 'no one'."

Mo Qinghuan was almost laughed at by this naive and cute guy. So before she went in, she gave Bai Ke a meaningful look.

Bai Ke immediately showed an expression of "I understand, Princess Consort".

As soon as Mo Qinghuan went in, he dragged Jinghua to a corner.

Then came Jinghua's shrill cries.
