Chapter 91 Childhood Friend

"Director Li," Xiao Zhan said as he walked over with his assistant. His appearance also eased the atmosphere on set. The dissatisfaction on the director's face faded away.

The one called Director Li was Li Quan, the chief director of this project. Actually, he had contacted Mo Xin before taking over this shoot, but among many directors, Wen Sining had chosen someone else.

Li Quan walked over to Xiao Zhan affectionately, patting his back. "Your performance just now was excellent. Keep up this state for the rest of today's shoot."

Xiao Zhan smiled and subtly shrugged off the director's hand. "Thank you for your compliment, Director Li."

"Take a good rest. I'll have the staff call you when it's time for the next shoot," Li Quan said with a smile.

So familiar!

Wen Sining and Xiao Zhan locked eyes.

They seemed to have met somewhere before, but she couldn't remember.

"Director Li, aren't you going to introduce us?" Xiao Zhan looked at Wen Sining and asked Li Quan.

Li Quan didn't want to introduce them. He walked in front of Wen Sining deliberately blocking their line of sight. "Oh, I just remembered. Later, go find Yaxuan."

"Hello, I'm Xiao Zhan," Xiao Zhan said, ignoring the annoying Li Quan and introducing himself to Wen Sining.

"Wen Ning," Wen Sining reached out her hand politely.

Hearing the name, a strange look flashed across Xiao Zhan's eyes. He looked at Wen Sining carefully, as if he knew her. His expression shifted from familiarity to strangeness and then back to familiarity.

"Mr. Xiao, get ready. We're about to start shooting," Li Quan interrupted them again, cutting off their conversation.

Since she failed to get the cameraman, Wen Sining had to go back and figure out another way.

"Miss Wen,"

Just as she turned around, Xiao Zhan called her back.

Wen Sining looked back. He had jogged up to her.

"You look just like a childhood friend of mine. I wonder if you ever went to Shuicheng when you were a kid," Xiao Zhan stared at Wen Sining intently.

Li Quan wanted to stop them again, but he was intrigued by Xiao Zhan's words.

Do they know each other?

Reminded by his words, Wen Sining seemed to understand why she felt such a strong sense of familiarity when they met. As for Shuicheng, she and her grandma had lived there for a long time after her parents passed away.

Could he be a friend she made in Shuicheng?

Wen Sining looked up at Xiao Zhan.

Xiao Zhan was looking at her too. At that moment, memories of Shuicheng flashed through their minds.

Little Radish!

Wen Sining took an excited step forward.

"Remember me?" Xiao Zhan asked with a smile.

Wen Sining nodded. Due to the presence of others and their status, they didn't hug each other excitedly.

Noticing the change in the atmosphere, Li Quan scanned their faces curiously. After observing for a while, he sensed something was off. The bad attitude he had just now softened immediately. "Miss Wen, I've thought about it. It's not impossible to lend you a cameraman, but I need the cameraman's consent."

With money, anything is possible.

Hearing Li Quan's concession, Wen Sining quickly agreed. "Thank you, Director Li. Could you take me to meet the cameraman?"

"I'll take you," Xiao Zhan replied quickly.

His assistant was worried and wanted to stop him, but once Xiao Zhan made a decision, no one could stop him. He walked up to Wen Sining and led her to the shed where the cameramen were.

"Mr. Xiao," the cameraman stood up politely.

Xiao Zhan nodded and introduced Wen Sining. "This is the person in charge of the other shooting team. Their cameraman can't make it due to an emergency, and they'd like to borrow one of ours."

Each cameraman has their own style. That's why there are several cameramen in Li Quan's crew to combine their strengths.

The cameramen were all surprised to see Wen Sining.

Borrowing a cameraman was something they had never heard of before.

"Mr. Xiao, you're not joking, are you?" a cameraman joked.

Xiao Zhan smiled and looked at Wen Sining gently, signaling her to explain.

Since they had already wasted a lot of time, Wen Sining quickly explained. "I'm not joking. As you all know, this place is far from the city. If we find a new cameraman, we'll have to contact an available one and arrange for them to come here. It will take a lot of time, and even if the cameraman arrives, it will delay the shoot."

After that, she observed the cameramen's expressions. "Don't worry. I'll pay you the same as your current salary, and there's even room for negotiation."

Something seemed off. Li Quan looked at Wen Sining and then at the cameramen who were a bit tempted.

Is she poaching in public?

"Everyone, get ready to start shooting," Li Quan said.

"Wait," Wen Sining stopped Li Quan. "Director Li, I haven't chosen a cameraman yet."

Li Quan pretended to be confused. He looked back at the cameramen seriously. "Oh, I didn't say you can't choose. But now we also need to start shooting. You know we can't delay the shooting time."

Wen Sining knew exactly what he meant.

Try to fool her? No way!

Wen Sining looked at a cameraman she liked and grabbed his arm. "Would you like to come to our crew?"

The cameraman was about to nod when Li Quan rushed over and grabbed his other hand. "For the next shoot, you'll shoot from the side. Try to emphasize the intimacy between the two characters."

Caught between the two enthusiastic people, the cameraman was flattered.

Normally, he was just a nobody on set. Why was he suddenly so popular today? He was confused and couldn't believe it.

Li Quan patted his back and urged him. "Hurry up and get ready. Don't delay the shoot."

With that, he was about to leave.

Wen Sining saw the cameraman's hesitation and said directly to Li Quan. "I'd like this cameraman. Is that okay, Director Li?"

Xiao Zhan was still there, which was proof that Li Quan was willing to lend the cameraman. As long as Li Quan said no, Wen Sining would have a reason to refute him.

With his back to them, Li Quan's face was as black as coal. He regretted his impulsive words and wished he could bite his tongue.

"Director Li?" Wen Sining called out urgently. "I'll take your silence as a yes."

Of course, the cameraman was willing to go with Wen Sining. After all, he was just an assistant here, but he would be the chief cameraman there. His name would be on the magazines in the future, which would be a great improvement for his status.
