Wen Sining took a shower before coming out. Lu Luochen was already in the bedroom.
"You can go take a shower now," Wen Sining said, tucking her hair behind her ear.
Lu Luochen nodded and went into the bathroom.
Wen Sining picked up her phone and called Donna to ask about the situation at the banquet hall.
The call was quickly answered. "Sining, are you home yet?" Donna had wanted to call earlier but was held up by other things.
"I'm home. How's the banquet going?" Wen Sining heard the noise on the other end getting softer, guessing that Donna had gone somewhere else to answer the call.
"The host is keeping the mood up, and everyone is cooperating. Don't worry. Just get some rest," Donna said. She knew what had happened today must have scared Wen Sining. Even if she didn't show it, anyone would be affected by such an incident.
They chatted for a few more minutes before hanging up.
Just then, Lu Luochen came out of the bathroom. "Who were you on the phone with?"
Wen Sining was startled by his sudden voice as she had her back to him. "Donna. I was asking about the banquet," she replied honestly. There was no need to hide it.
Lu Luochen nodded.
After getting ready, they went to bed.
Early the next morning, Wen Sining was woken up by the ringing of her phone. She groped for it sleepily and blindly pressed the answer button.
"Hello."
"Why are you still sleeping? Don't you even check what time it is?" Qiao Xi's angry voice came through the phone.
Wen Sining reluctantly opened her eyes, glanced at the time, and then closed them again. "It's only nine o'clock. I don't want to go to the company today."
Anyway, the annual meeting was just over, and there was nothing for her to do there.
Qiao Xi clicked her tongue. "I don't care. You need to come to the coffee shop right now. I have something urgent to tell you."
"What urgent thing could you possibly have so early in the morning?" Wen Sining wondered why she was so sleepy.
"Just tell me if you're coming or not," Qiao Xi knew how to deal with Wen Sining.
"Fine, I'll come," Wen Sining sat up in bed and felt a bit more awake.
After getting the answer she wanted, Qiao Xi said, "I'll be waiting for you at the coffee shop," and then hung up.
Wen Sining tossed her phone aside and lay back down. But a minute later, she got up to get dressed.
By this time, Lu Luochen had already gone to work. Wen Sining had a vague impression of him getting up, but she was too sleepy to know when he left.
After Wen Sining got dressed and came downstairs, Grandpa Xiao and Grandpa Lu had already gone out for a walk. It was their habit. At first, Grandpa Lu was reluctant, but after being forced by Grandpa Xiao a few times, he got used to it. As the saying goes, a walk after a meal can keep you healthy for years.
The nanny saw Wen Sining coming downstairs and quickly greeted her. "Madam, there's still breakfast. Have some to fill your stomach." Actually, Lu Luochen had told the nanny to leave some breakfast for Wen Sining before he left.
After a simple breakfast, Wen Sining drove to Qiao Xi's coffee shop.
After that incident, the coffee shop's business had been getting better and better.
"Wen Sining, you're finally here," Qiao Xi had been waiting for her, constantly looking out the window. Now she was finally here.
"What's the urgent thing you want to tell me?" Wen Sining was a bit curious. She let Qiao Xi pull her over and sat down in a corner.
Qiao Xi finally spoke. "I just found out yesterday that Feng Jingcheng's birthday is tomorrow. What gift should I prepare?"
"Is this the urgent thing you wanted to tell me?" Wen Sining looked at her.
Qiao Xi nodded nonchalantly, not realizing anything wrong with her actions.
After getting the confirmation, Wen Sining looked at her curiously, trying to find something from her expression, as if she had discovered a big secret.
"When did your relationship with Feng Jingcheng get so good? Tell me quickly. Is there something going on between you two that I don't know about?"
Qiao Xi slapped her across the table. "I don't know what you're thinking. Feng Jingcheng has been helping out at the coffee shop for a long time. It's only natural that I give him a birthday gift."
Wen Sining didn't believe her at all. Anyway, she was trying to match them up.
"Why don't you just ask him? I'm not very familiar with Feng Jingcheng," Wen Sining threw the problem back to her.
"I know you're not familiar with him. But your husband, Mr. Lu, should know what Feng Jingcheng likes," Qiao Xi said.
Wen Sining finally understood what she meant. After going around in circles, Qiao Xi just wanted her to ask Lu Luochen. But it wasn't necessary to bother him for such a small thing.
"Why don't you just give him a violin?" Wen Sining suggested.
Hearing this, Qiao Xi gave her a glare. One moment she said she didn't know, and the next moment she came up with a suggestion. To be fair, it was a good idea. After all, Feng Jingcheng was a genius in music.
"Okay, I'll take your suggestion," Qiao Xi said.
Wen Sining nodded. Feng Jingcheng didn't have many hobbies. Although he was a rich second - generation, he didn't play with cars or go to parties. That's why Wen Sining wanted to match him with Qiao Xi.
"I'd better ask Lu Luochen," Wen Sining thought it was related to Qiao Xi's future happiness.
Maybe it was just a hunch, but Wen Sining felt that their relationship had taken a step forward. Based on her understanding of Qiao Xi, she would never give a gift to a man voluntarily. So there was hope for them.
Wen Sining called Lu Luochen directly. "Feng Jingcheng's birthday is tomorrow. What do you usually give him as a gift?" She asked in a different way.
"What's going on? He likes playing games, so I usually give him figurines," Lu Luochen said. He never worried about Feng Jingcheng's birthday gifts. He always asked Jin Yihao to prepare them.
Wen Sining told Lu Luochen about the gift Qiao Xi wanted to give. Lu Luochen said it was fine. They talked for a few more minutes before hanging up.
"Are you satisfied now?" Wen Sining asked.
Qiao Xi nodded. "I know a store. I'll contact them later."
After they made the decision, Wen Sining left the coffee shop.
In the evening, they received an invitation from Feng Jingcheng, asking them to attend his birthday party on time. Besides that, he gave Lu Luochen a sacred task. He asked them to help decorate the venue. He had a performance tomorrow and couldn't cancel it. Otherwise, he would have done it himself.
Of course, there were other people invited too, and Qiao Xi was one of them.
Lu Luochen was about to decline, but Wen Sining quickly agreed.
