Chapter 328: Rejection

"Your uncle and aunt must be watching over you from above," Jing Anyu said.

Wen Sining nodded. "Let's go."

Before they knew it, light rain had started to fall, making the atmosphere even more fitting.

She took one more look at her parents' tombs. "Mom and Dad, I'll come visit you again next time." She would never forget the heart - wrenching pain she felt when she first learned about her parents' car accident. Fortunately, she had managed to get through it.

The two of them started walking down the mountain. There was still some distance to the bottom. As Wen Sining was walking down, due to the rain, she slipped. Jing Anyu, who was walking beside her, quickly reached out and steadied her.

"Are you okay?" he asked with concern.

"I think I've sprained my ankle," she said, feeling a sharp pain in her ankle.

"You can hold on to the railing first. Let me take a look," Jing Anyu said as he bent down to check on Wen Sining's ankle.

"I'll do it myself," Wen Sining said. For some reason, she felt a bit embarrassed at this moment.

Jing Anyu continued to check her ankle while saying, "We've grown up together. There's no need to be shy."

Wen Sining blushed and didn't say anything else.

"It should just be a sprained ankle. I'll carry you down," Jing Anyu said as he stood up.

Hearing this, Wen Sining quickly refused. "No need. I can hold on to the railing and get down by myself."

"Let me carry you. Do you want to sprain your other ankle too?" Jing Anyu said and then squatted down in front of her.

"Come on, get on," he said.

Wen Sining had no choice but to let him carry her down.

As soon as they reached the bottom, they saw Lu Luochen getting out of his car, holding chrysanthemums in his hands. It seemed that he had also come to visit Wen's parents.

Lu Luochen looked at the scene in front of him, a sarcastic smile playing on his lips. He said coldly to Wen Sining, "Didn't you say you two were just friends? Now you should probably explain this to me. Don't forget we're still married."

Before Wen Sining could say anything, Jing Anyu stepped forward to explain. "Mr. Lu, I think you've misunderstood. Sining just sprained her ankle, so I carried her down."

Lu Luochen's gaze fell on Wen Sining's foot. "You sprained your ankle?"

"Otherwise?" Wen Sining replied impatiently.

Lu Luochen stepped forward and said to Wen Sining, "Let me take a look at your foot."

"I don't need your concern," Wen Sining said. Then she turned to Jing Anyu and said, "Let's go first."

Jing Anyu glanced at Lu Luochen. "Mr. Lu, then we'll be leaving."

After saying that, he carried Wen Sining away without looking back. Lu Luochen was very angry looking at their backs, but there was nothing he could do. He could only watch as Jing Anyu carried Wen Sining into the car.

Lu Luochen turned around and went up the mountain. He placed the flowers in front of Wen's parents' tombs and then left.

While driving, he called Wen Sining, but there was no answer. So he drove to Wen Sining's apartment building. Even if she had gone to the hospital, she should be back by now.

He waited downstairs for a long time. Finally, he saw Jing Anyu's car drive in.

He stepped forward towards the car. Wen Sining was just getting out. He stopped in front of her.

Wen Sining looked up at him. "What are you doing here?"

"You're my wife. Your ankle is sprained. If I don't come, should I let some other man take care of you?" His words were pointed, but Jing Anyu pretended not to hear.

"So what? You still have the nerve to say you're my husband. You took care of another woman right in front of me," Wen Sining said coldly.

"I had no choice," he said. His situation was different from Wen Sining's.

"Really? Well, I also had no choice," Wen Sining said as she walked forward with Jing Anyu's support.

"Let me help you," Lu Luochen said as he followed Wen Sining. His hand was almost touching her, but the next second, she shook it off.

"I don't need your help. You can leave," Wen Sining said. She didn't know why he was being so nice all of a sudden.

Seeing that he couldn't make any headway with Wen Sining, Lu Luochen turned to Jing Anyu and said, "You can go. I'll take care of her."

After his words, Jing Anyu looked a bit embarrassed, not knowing what to do. Helping either side seemed wrong. At this moment, Wen Sining took over. "Brother Anyu, don't leave."

She didn't want Lu Luochen to take care of her. Just thinking about him taking care of Yun Chuchu in the hospital ward a few days ago and now coming to her made her think he was so hypocritical.

"Wen Sining, what do you mean? You'd rather let someone else take care of you than me?" Lu Luochen said to her.

These words made Wen Sining stop in her tracks. She looked at Lu Luochen. For some reason, this look in her eyes made Lu Luochen feel a bit guilty. The next second, Wen Sining's words rang in his ears.

"Lu Luochen, do you think this is fun? Taking care of Yun Chuchu one moment and then coming to care about me the next. Let me tell you, I, Wen Sining, don't want a hypocritical man like you," Wen Sining said and then walked forward.

Lu Luochen immediately explained, "It's not what you think between me and Yun Chuchu. If you mind, I'll stop contacting her after she's out of the hospital."

Wen Sining stopped again and let out a cold snort. "Be honest with yourself. Do you even believe what you're saying? I'm not stupid."

Lu Luochen didn't know what to say for a moment. He could only watch as Jing Anyu helped Wen Sining into the elevator and disappear from his sight.

He was still a bit worried about Wen Sining, so he just stood downstairs watching.

"Do you really plan to divorce him?" Jing Anyu asked.

Wen Sining nodded. "I sent him a divorce agreement before, but things got delayed."

Jing Anyu nodded. "You should make your own decision on this. I won't interfere," because he didn't really understand the relationship between the two of them.

Wen Sining nodded. The elevator soon reached her floor. The two of them got out.

Wen Sining entered the password and opened the door. Then they went in.

Jing Anyu helped Wen Sining sit on the sofa. "You should be more careful in the future. You can't go to the company for a few days."

"I will. I don't know when my ankle will get better," Wen Sining said. It was said that it took a hundred days to recover from a muscle or bone injury. She guessed she would have to work from home. She wouldn't go to the company unless it was absolutely necessary.

Jing Anyu nodded. He found Wen Sining's room very warm and cozy. After seeing the photos on the shelf, he walked over and picked one up.

"This is a photo of you in high school," he said, looking at the photo of Wen Sining in her school uniform with a high ponytail. Even through the photo, she exuded a youthful energy.

Wen Sining nodded. "At that time, I only knew how to study. I also wanted to cut my hair short, but Mom didn't let me."
