They simply made an appointment to meet at Qiao Xi's coffee shop.
Feng Jingcheng had no idea what was going on. When he arrived, he saw the two women sitting across from him looking solemn.
He thought something serious had happened and asked, "What's wrong with you two?" He had a hunch that it wasn't good news.
Qiao Xi was about to speak when Wen Sining tugged at her hand. "Have you been in contact with other women recently?"
Feng Jingcheng was completely confused. "No. Why do you ask?"
"Really? Hand over your phone." Qiao Xi couldn't help but speak up.
Feng Jingcheng obediently handed over his phone. Qiao Xi opened it, found the chat history with that woman, and put it in front of him. Then she questioned him, "Now explain this to me. What's going on?"
When Feng Jingcheng saw the chat history in front of him, a flash of surprise crossed his eyes. He looked up at Qiao Xi and asked, "When did you find out about this?"
Qiao Xi didn't expect him to ask this. At this moment, shouldn't he give her an explanation? The more she thought about it, the more disappointed she became.
"What do you mean by that? Do you really have something going on with her?" Wen Sining said bluntly.
Only then did Feng Jingcheng realize that they had misunderstood the relationship between him and that woman. He explained, "You've got it all wrong. She's actually my father's illegitimate daughter."
His answer left Wen Sining and Qiao Xi stunned. "Illegitimate daughter?" Qiao Xi repeated.
Feng Jingcheng nodded and continued, "Her name is Feng Wanyu. She's my half - sister. We only started contacting each other recently because her mother is seriously ill. But due to the reputation of the group, this can't be made public."
"So that's it," Qiao Xi said. No wonder Feng Jingcheng had been transferring money to her.
"It seems we misunderstood the relationship between you two," Wen Sining said. Fortunately, it wasn't what they had thought.
"Xixi, you're being impulsive again. I've noticed that you've become so neurotic recently," Wen Sining looked at Qiao Xi sitting beside her and asked.
Qiao Xi bit her lip. Summoning up her courage, she said directly to them, "I'm pregnant."
As soon as she said this, it shocked the two of them. Feng Jingcheng was the first to react. The joy on his face was obvious. "Really? How long have you been pregnant? Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
"I'm going to be a godmother so soon. You two are really amazing."
"Three weeks. I was afraid it wasn't stable yet. If I told you, I was afraid you'd be happy for nothing. I was going to tell you after a month," Qiao Xi explained.
"You should have told us right away. You're hiding such good news from me," Wen Sining said.
Qiao Xi smiled.
"Okay, now that you're pregnant, find someone to manage the coffee shop. You can just be the boss and take good care of yourself," Wen Sining suggested.
Feng Jingcheng picked up where Wen Sining left off. "That's right. You need to take good care of your body now."
"It's not that serious," Qiao Xi felt they were being overly nervous.
"Okay, I won't disturb you two lovebirds anymore," Wen Sining picked up her bag and stood up.
"I'll treat you two to dinner tonight," Feng Jingcheng said.
Wen Sining agreed. After driving away from the coffee shop, she returned to the company.
After she left, only the two of them were left. "Now that you're pregnant, we should start preparing for the wedding soon," Feng Jingcheng said.
Anyway, both of their parents knew about their relationship.
Qiao Xi nodded. If they waited for a few more months, her belly would be big, and it wouldn't look good in a wedding dress.
As soon as Wen Sining arrived at the company, Lu Luochen called. "Where are you?"
"At the company," Wen Sining was waiting for the elevator. After saying that, she remembered what Feng Jingcheng had said. "By the way, Xixi is pregnant. Feng Jingcheng invited us to dinner tonight."
"Okay, I know. I'll pick you up later," Lu Luochen offered.
Wen Sining agreed, and they hung up the phone.
Work time passed quickly. When it was time to get off work, Lu Luochen's car arrived at the company on time to pick her up.
Wen Sining got in. Qiao Xi had already sent her the location of the restaurant. Lu Luochen started the car. On the way, Wen Sining told him everything about how she and Qiao Xi had wrongly accused Feng Jingcheng that morning.
Lu Luochen smiled after listening. "Feng Jingcheng isn't that kind of person."
Wen Sining didn't agree. "Well, everyone can make mistakes. You can't blame Qiao Xi for being too nervous."
"You're not insinuating about me, are you?" referring to his past with Yun Chuchu.
Wen Sining shook her head. "I didn't say that."
Lu Luochen smiled faintly. Seeing the documents on Wen Sining's lap, he asked, "Do you still have work to do?"
Wen Sining nodded. "Just a little. I'll take it home to deal with."
Lu Luochen didn't say anything else. Just like that, they arrived at the restaurant. It was a private room, and only the two of them were invited.
Qiao Xi and Feng Jingcheng had already ordered some dishes. After they arrived, they added a few more.
"Feng Jingcheng, you're really good at keeping things low - key," Lu Luochen joked.
"Well, you'd better hurry up," Feng Jingcheng said.
Lu Luochen smiled but didn't respond. The dishes were slowly served.
During the meal, Feng Jingcheng took great care of Qiao Xi. She didn't need to do anything.
Wen Sining was relieved to see Feng Jingcheng taking good care of her.
After dinner, Lu Luochen drove Wen Sining back. They got on the elevator. When they reached Lu Luochen's floor, Wen Sining saw that he didn't seem to be getting off, so she asked, "Aren't you getting off?"
Lu Luochen shook his head. "I'll take you upstairs and then go back." Actually, he had another idea in mind.
Wen Sining thought it was unnecessary but didn't say anything. They got out of the elevator.
She walked over to open the door, and Lu Luochen followed behind her.
"I'm going in," she turned to say to him.
Seeing that she didn't seem to invite him in, Lu Luochen felt a bit disappointed. He had thought that Wen Sining would at least invite him in for a cup of tea, but it turned out not to be the case.
But he didn't say these things. "Go to bed early. I'll go downstairs first."
Wen Sining nodded. She wondered if it was just her imagination, but she seemed to detect a hint of disappointment in Lu Luochen's words. She looked at his expression but didn't notice anything unusual. She thought she must be overthinking.
She closed the door.
