"Where are we going?" Su Qingwen let out a sigh. She felt that her life was almost at its end. What hope could she have now? And she was about to leave with Shen Lingyun. Where could they go?
"Leave this game," Shen Lingyun said with his arms folded across his chest, sizing up her pale face with a hint of helplessness. "I can tell you're not happy at all living here. So, it's better to leave as soon as possible."
"If that's the case, will I stop myself from dying?" Su Qingwen's eyes widened in hope as she asked with a bit of excitement.
"Yes," Shen Lingyun nodded slightly and reached out to grab her arm. "As long as you say you're willing, I'll surely find a way to take you out of here."
"However..." Su Qingwen lowered her head and thought for a while. She hadn't completed her mission yet, and she also wanted to spend more time with Hua Yueye. After all, it was three whole months. If she made good use of this time, they might do a lot of things together.
"Qingwen, what are you still hesitating about? This is a once - in - a - lifetime opportunity. Are you really going to give it up?" Shen Lingyun sized up the look on her face and frowned.
Su Qingwen's current state seemed as if she was missing something. It was really strange.
Could it be that she was reluctant to part with Hua Yueye? Thinking of this, Shen Lingyun's face darkened. He tightened his fists inch by inch and just sneered coldly.
"I..." Su Qingwen lowered her head and tightly clasped her fingers. "Actually, I don't want to leave yet. I still have something to say to Hua Yueye and some things I want to accomplish."
"Are these things more important than your own life?" Shen Lingyun was almost driven mad by her. With a cold face, he asked, "Are you really that muddled? How could you give up the hope of survival for such things?"
Even though he said so, Su Qingwen didn't know what was wrong with herself. She just couldn't bear to part. The thought of leaving Hua Yueye made her feel a deep pain in her heart. She just couldn't convince herself.
"Sorry. Thank you for your kindness, but I'll think it over carefully myself," Su Qingwen said, lowering her head and tightly gripping her fingers.
"No way!" Shen Lingyun couldn't just watch her get into trouble. He immediately stepped forward, grabbed her soft hand without any hesitation, and said with a determined look in his eyes, "I must take you away. It's okay if you're being muddled, but I can't just watch you walk towards doom."
"What are you talking about? How could I be walking towards doom? Shen Lingyun, I've made up my mind and I won't regret it," Su Qingwen sighed, and her face became rather embarrassed.
"You..." Just as he was about to speak, there suddenly came the sound of footsteps from the door. It seemed that a little maid had come in.
Su Qingwen was startled. She immediately winked at Shen Lingyun, signaling him to leave first. After all, they were a man and a woman alone together. If they were seen by others, there would surely be gossips. It was better not to take that risk.
Shen Lingyun knew what she was worried about. He frowned with a bit of helplessness and then quickly left.
"Your Ladyship, the Lady of Leisure, are you okay? This servant heard a man's voice here. What's going on?" the little maid who came in asked, looking at her suspiciously.
"I'm fine," Su Qingwen waved her hand and then weakly lay back on the bed. "I was just feeling a bit unwell, but I'm okay now."
"Alas, Your Ladyship, this servant knows you're in a bad mood, but what they said is not true at all," the little maid lowered her head and said.
These words caught Su Qingwen's attention. She opened her eyes wide and looked at the little maid in front of her in confusion, frowning and asking, "What are you talking about? Did someone speak ill of me?"
"Your Ladyship doesn't know anything yet?" The little maid blinked her eyes, looking extremely surprised. Then she raised her arm to cover her mouth, her eyes panicking as she looked to the side, and her face instantly turned pale.
Goodness. It seemed that something had really happened. Su Qingwen's delicate eyebrows knitted together, and she let out a long sigh. "Tell me everything you know. Don't leave out a single word."
"This..." The little maid nervously rubbed her hands together and then lowered her head awkwardly, not knowing what to do.
"Speak quickly," Su Qingwen hated this feeling the most, being kept in the dark and knowing nothing.
"Alas," the little maid pretended to sigh and said, "It's like this. No one knows how it started, but those court officials are all saying that you're a fox spirit who seduced the emperor. All the bad things happened because of you." As she said this, she couldn't help but look at Su Qingwen sympathetically.
Su Qingwen was slightly stunned. Then she reached out to cover her chest. She felt a surge of blood in her chest, and she was about to be tortured to death.
"What's wrong with you?" The little maid blinked her eyes, pretending not to understand anything, and took a step forward as if she wanted to help.
"I..." Su Qingwen's eyebrows knitted together, and the color gradually faded from her face until it was completely pale.
A mouthful of bright red blood suddenly spurted out. Su Qingwen lay on the edge of the bed with difficulty, feeling completely weak.
"Oh my god! Something's wrong with the Lady of Leisure!" The little maid was startled and quickly ran out. It seemed that she was going to find the imperial doctor.
However, as soon as she stepped out of the door, all the panic on her face disappeared, leaving only coldness and calmness. She stopped walking and stood at a corner.
"How's it going?" Xiao Cui folded her arms across her chest, leaned against a pillar, and stared at her with a half - smile.
"It's done. It seems that she won't be able to last through tonight. She's been vomiting blood non - stop," the little maid said with a smug look in her eyes. "I've always said that once I take action, there's nothing I can't accomplish."
She stretched out her hand and looked up at Xiao Cui. "Can I have the silver now?"
"Sure," Xiao Cui smiled, took out some small silver coins and stuffed them into her hand. Then she patted her on the shoulder appreciatively. "I knew you were the most capable one. Later, be careful. Drag it out for a while before going to find the imperial doctor. If anyone asks you, just say you were too scared and accidentally fell on the way."
"Okay," the little maid happily put away the silver coins and said, "This kind of thing is not difficult at all. If there are any good opportunities like this in the future, don't forget to contact me, okay?"
"Of course," Xiao Cui nodded, gave her a look, and then turned away satisfactorily.
