Chapter 69: Jealousy

Wu Pengpeng didn't know how to answer this question.

The sudden appearance of a son was already a big surprise to her. If the child's father showed up too, she'd be driven crazy with worry.

Seeing her looking so troubled, Aunt Tang quickly comforted her in a soft voice, "It's okay. It's just a child. We can afford to raise him."

Wu Pengpeng wasn't worried about raising the child. She could even afford to raise a whole kindergarten full of kids. What she was really worried about was the child's father. What if he tried to marry her just because he was the father of her child?

What if the original owner and the child's father were in love, and now she had fallen for someone else? Wouldn't that be considered cheating?

Wu Pengpeng was really confused and surprised. How could a modern independent and ambitious woman like the original owner have a child so early?

The little milk bun looked about three or four years old. The original owner was only twenty - two this year, which meant she had given birth to a child when she was eighteen.

This made Wu Pengpeng, who didn't even get her first kiss until she was thirty by being a bit of a hooligan, feel quite ashamed. She subconsciously looked at the object of her hooliganism next to the little milk bun.

He Qian Shan was making milk for the little milk bun. He gently shook the bottle, tested the temperature on the back of his hand, and then handed the bottle to the little one.

His eyes were lowered, and his long eyelashes covered his usually cold eyes. He looked so focused and gentle.

Wu Pengpeng stared at his eyebrows and eyes for half a minute. Her gaze slid across his high nose bridge and finally landed on his thin and sexy lips. She couldn't help but swallow.

Maybe he felt her burning gaze. He Qian Shan suddenly looked up. Their eyes met in mid - air, and he gave her a smile.

Wu Pengpeng was a bit dazed by his smile. She quickly shifted her gaze, lowered her head, and pretended to look at her phone. But the pictures on the screen all turned into the scene of her forcefully kissing He Qian Shan. She blushed.

He Qian Shan noticed Wu Pengpeng's strange behavior and asked with a smile, "What are you looking at? Why are you blushing?"

Wu Pengpeng was caught being a fangirl. She wished she could find a hole to hide in.

Soon she calmed down. She turned the phone screen towards him and stubbornly said, "I'm looking at the news. Who's blushing? I'm just hot."

Before He Qian Shan could say anything, she quickly changed the topic to the little milk bun beside him. "Xin Xin, how did you find this place?"

A three - or four - year - old child couldn't have come here alone. Maybe his father was hiding somewhere, waiting for a chance to get into the Wu family.

The little milk bun held the bottle and gulped down most of the milk in one breath. Then he took a moment from his milk - drinking to look at her and said obediently, "Uncle Jiang brought me here."

Wu Pengpeng asked again, "What's Uncle Jiang's name?"

The little milk bun looked at her. His chubby face was full of disgust, as if to say, "Why are you so stupid? You have to ask me everything."

But the little milk bun was a kind child. So he kindly said, "Uncle Jiang is just Uncle Jiang!"

Wu Pengpeng felt that the mother - child relationship was facing an unprecedented challenge. She took a deep breath and patiently asked, "Where is Uncle Jiang now?"

Yan Zixin held the bottle and said in a milky voice, "He left!"

Wu Pengpeng: "..."

Forget it. He was her own son. She told herself in her heart that she'd forgive him this time because he was so cute.

So she asked softly again, "Where's your daddy?"

The little milk bun stopped drinking milk. There was a little bit of dissatisfaction in his voice because his milk - drinking was interrupted. "Daddy is at home."

Wu Pengpeng didn't give up. "Where's home?"

The little milk bun sighed. "Home is at home, Mommy. Why do you have to ask me everything?"

Wu Pengpeng felt like she was talking to a brick wall. She was just about to grab the little milk bun and give him a good talking - to.

But He Qian Shan stepped in and protected the little milk bun in his arms. "Don't let the child talk while he's eating. It's not good for his health."

With someone protecting him, the little milk bun was so proud. While drinking milk, he looked at her with a look that was a mix of provocation and show - off.

Wu Pengpeng was so angry that she wanted to pinch his face. The little milk bun then looked away, gulped down the remaining milk, burped, and then rubbed his face against He Qian Shan's chest. Shamelessly, he asked He Qian Shan to tell him a bedtime story.

He Qian Shan was like an indulgent father with no bottom line. While gently patting the little one's back, he searched for a bedtime story on his phone.

Wu Pengpeng was so jealous. She had never nestled in He Qian Shan's arms and acted coquettishly, nor had she ever heard him tell her a bedtime story.

While coaxing the little milk bun, He Qian Shan observed Wu Pengpeng from the corner of his eye. He noticed that she was in a bad mood.

He thought Wu Pengpeng was jealous that the little milk bun was so close to him but not so close to her, his own mother. So he picked up the sleeping little milk bun and walked over to her. He held the little one out in front of her.

Wu Pengpeng turned her face away and snorted, "I'm not going to hold him."

Maybe the little milk bun heard their conversation. He grunted unhappily and grabbed He Qian Shan's clothes tighter, as if he was afraid that He Qian Shan would be taken away by Wu Pengpeng.

He Qian Shan had no choice but to continue patting the little milk bun's back to coax him to sleep. The little one grunted for a while before finally falling into a deep sleep.

It wasn't until he had coaxed Yan Zixin to sleep that He Qian Shan finally had a chance to come over and sit down next to Wu Pengpeng.

"I have a question for you," he said, looking at the sleeping little milk bun with a gentle expression. "That..."

Wu Pengpeng guessed what he was going to ask. She simply confessed, "Actually, I don't know how this happened either. I had a head injury before, and I can't remember a lot of things."

Of course He Qian Shan knew what was going on. The soul had changed. If she could still remember the original owner's things, that would be strange.

He said, "I was just wondering if you're married?"

Wu Pengpeng was stunned. It took her a while to say, "I don't think so."

Her household register showed that she was unmarried. This child must have been born out of wedlock.

Hearing this, He Qian Shan let out a sigh of relief and said with a smile, "That's good."

Before Wu Pengpeng could ask what was good, the little milk bun on the other end of the sofa started grunting again. He Qian Shan quickly got up to coax the child.

The little milk bun's love for He Qian Shan was really extreme. He was like a human pendant, always hanging on He Qian Shan. He even wanted to sleep with He Qian Shan at night.

He Qian Shan, who had finally been sent away by Wu Pengpeng with an excuse, had to move back to the castle because of the little milk bun.

This made Wu Pengpeng always feel nervous when she wanted to do something extravagant.

Fortunately, He Qian Shan's attention was completely focused on the little milk bun, so he didn't have the energy to pay attention to her.

Wu Pengpeng felt relieved but also a bit disappointed.

She realized that she might have been over - thinking. He Qian Shan didn't want to be her husband. He just wanted to experience the joy of raising a child.

Every time Wu Pengpeng saw the two of them inseparable, a feeling of jealousy would well up in her heart. But one was her own child, and the other was the man she loved. She couldn't really be angry with them.

So she turned her jealousy into motivation for extravagance. She indulged in her spending spree every day. To her surprise, it was quite effective. All the stocks she bought lost all their value.

Wu Pengpeng was so happy that she wanted to share her joy with He Qian Shan. As soon as she came out of her bedroom, she saw He Qian Shan and Yan Zixin sitting on the sofa downstairs, doing handicrafts.

Yan Zixin cut out an ugly little rabbit. He was so excited that he danced with joy. He hugged He Qian Shan's face and gave him a kiss.

Wu Pengpeng's face darkened. This little brat! Her He Qian Shan. She hadn't even kissed him much, but this little brat took advantage of him every day.

Maybe he felt her gaze. Yan Zixin suddenly looked up. When he saw her, he was a bit stunned, and then he made a face at her.

He actually dared to provoke her!

Wu Pengpeng was so angry that she wanted to show her authority as a strict mother. But then she thought that if she beat the child, He Qian Shan would definitely protect him. They might even have a conflict over the child's education. So she had to give up.

She angrily waved her fist at the little milk bun and was about to go back to her room to continue her extravagance.

Just as she turned around, she heard the little milk bun ask in a milky voice, "Uncle He, are you so nice to me because of my mommy?"

Wu Pengpeng stopped in her tracks and turned back.

She saw He Qian Shan reach out his index finger and gently scrape the little milk bun's nose. He smiled and teased him, "Call me daddy, and I'll tell you."

Yan Zixin shouted excitedly, "Daddy!"

Wu Pengpeng was so amused by the little milk bun's expression that she couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Hearing the sound, He Qian Shan looked up at her. There was a bit of embarrassment in his eyes, as if he had been caught doing something naughty.

Wu Pengpeng laughed even louder. "He Qian Shan, it's not nice to take advantage of a child, is it?"
