Chapter 93: The Magnificent Scenery on Earth

Wu Pengpeng's words were really heart - wrenching. Her little sister was indignant upon hearing them. "She has depression. How dare you talk to her like this! What if something happens to her..."

"Depression?" Wu Pengpeng interrupted her with a sneer. "Since when has depression become a fig leaf for your willfulness?"

The little sister was left speechless by her words. She stared at Wu Pengpeng with wide eyes, wishing she could kill her with her gaze.

Wu Pengpeng calmly met her stare for a moment. Then her gaze swept past the little sister and landed on the girl in the hospital bed.

"People who truly suffer from depression are sensitive but kind. They are too kind to ever trouble others. They only torment themselves, which is why they are in so much pain."

As for the girl in front of her, Wu Pengpeng couldn't see a hint of kindness. All she saw was selfishness.

"It's one thing for you to be willful on your own. But dragging down a vulnerable group and making them pay for your madness, branding them on the pillar of shame forever, that's too much."

The girl in the hospital bed felt as if she had been slapped in the face in public when she heard Wu Pengpeng's righteous words.

In fact, she didn't have depression at all. It was just an excuse to threaten her parents. She made a big fuss about wanting to die every day because she knew her parents would fall for it.

When she was on the rooftop just now, she knew there were fire - rescue teams below. Even if she really jumped, she wouldn't die. At most, she'd get a minor injury.

It was a good deal to exchange a little injury for her brother's sympathy and love.

She thought she had everything calculated and was bound to win. But in the end, all her efforts were in vain.

At this moment, she suddenly realized that her life could only be used to threaten those who truly loved her.

For those who didn't care about her, they wouldn't even spare her a glance whether she was alive or dead.

Wu Pengpeng saw the girl's expression change from initial anger to grief. She knew the girl had taken her words to heart, so she didn't continue to lecture her.

"Learn to love yourself first. Then you can love others," she said. After that, she opened the door of the hospital ward and left without looking back.

He Qianshan was waiting for her outside. When he saw her come out, he stepped forward and gave her a gentle hug. "You did a great job."

Hearing his voice, Wu Pengpeng suddenly felt extremely aggrieved.

Before her tears could fall, she saw the girl's mother walking towards them from the other end of the corridor.

Wu Pengpeng sniffed, composed herself, and walked up to the woman calmly. She took out a checkbook from her bag, wrote a check for 200,000 against the wall, tore it off, and handed it to the woman. "For the medical expenses."

The woman already knew Wu Pengpeng's identity. She had expected a large sum of money, but was disappointed by what she thought was Wu Pengpeng's stinginess.

"I don't want it," the woman said, shifting her gaze from the check and glaring coldly at Wu Pengpeng.

"Take it or leave it!" Wu Pengpeng slapped the check into the woman's hand and walked forward without looking sideways.

Behind her came the woman's shrill curses, calling her stingy and saying she'd eventually be ruined by her own money.

Wu Pengpeng ignored the curses and walked expressionlessly towards the stairwell.

She wasn't short of money. In fact, she was eager to spend it. If the woman really wanted it, she could give her millions, tens of millions, or even billions.

But she didn't want to waste her money on such a person.

Wu Pengpeng gritted her teeth and stepped into the elevator. The elevator door cut off the woman's venomous gaze. As soon as she let out the breath she had been holding, she slumped backward.

He Qianshan quickly caught her and pulled her into his arms. He said worriedly, "You were scared today. Let's go to the doctor and get some medicine to help you recover."

Wu Pengpeng waved her hand weakly. "No need. Just take me home."

Seeing her firm attitude, He Qianshan didn't insist. He took her directly to the underground garage and drove quickly towards the castle.

All he wanted was to get her away from this place of trouble as soon as possible and send her home, to a place where she felt safe.

Wu Pengpeng had been on edge all afternoon and was extremely tired. As soon as she got in the car, she felt drowsy.

He Qianshan turned up the air - conditioner and played some soothing music to create a comfortable sleeping environment for her.

Wu Pengpeng felt a warmth in her heart when she noticed his thoughtfulness. She nestled comfortably in the passenger seat and closed her eyes to rest.

Just as she was about to fall asleep, her phone rang. She was startled and fumbled to take out her phone from her pocket. It was Jiang He calling.

The digital currency project they were working on was at a crucial stage. She guessed he had some important news to tell her.

Wu Pengpeng quickly perked up and answered the call. "What's up?"

Jiang He had seen the news, but he couldn't detect anything from her voice. This made him even more worried. "Are you okay?"

They had collaborated on several projects, and every time they had suffered heavy losses.

Although Wu Pengpeng valued Jiang He's ability to squander money, in her heart, Jiang He was just a good business partner, not a friend she could confide in.

She didn't want to talk about the bad things that had happened today. She just said indifferently, "I'm fine."

Jiang He sensed her aloofness. He was silent for a moment before saying softly, "It may not be the right time to say this, but I think I should tell you immediately. Our project may be in trouble."

This news was like a breath of fresh air suddenly filling Wu Pengpeng's oxygen - deprived lungs. She couldn't help but smile, but her voice was calm. "I'm a bit busy today. Let's talk about it another day."

Jiang He knew she must be very tired today. He said tactfully, "Then you go ahead with your business. Take care of yourself."

Wu Pengpeng gave a faint "um" and hung up the phone.

Seeing that she was in a good mood, He Qianshan unconsciously let out a sigh of relief. He asked with a smile, "Good news?"

"Yeah," Wu Pengpeng didn't hide it from him. She leaned over and kissed his cheek. "Something really nice."

After getting home, Wu Pengpeng fell into bed and slept. When she woke up, it was already bright.

She lingered in bed for a while, staring at the energy meter on her wrist. There was still half of the energy left, and half of the time remained. At this rate, she should be able to squander all the money.

She wrapped herself in the quilt and daydreamed about a wonderful future. Then she decided to get up and continue her "work".

After breakfast, she said hello to Aunt Tang and asked Uncle Wang, the driver, to go out with her.

There was going to be a press conference today to announce the disbandment of "The Twelve Zodiacs".

Although she hadn't figured out how to break the news, she knew it was better to get it over with sooner rather than later. The earlier it was resolved, the sooner she could be at peace.

Uncle Wang walked in front and opened the door for her. The cold wind almost blew her back.

Wu Pengpeng looked closely and saw that it had started to snow at some point. The snowflakes were falling in a flurry.

Everything around was covered in white, which made her feel happy. She couldn't help but smile. As her gaze swept by chance, she saw He Qianshan standing at the castle gate, looking at her through the falling snow with a gentle and affectionate look in his eyes.

Wu Pengpeng couldn't help but smile at him. She trotted through the thick snow to his side.

She didn't know how long he had been waiting. There was a layer of snow on his eyebrows and shoulders, and his nose and ears were red from the cold.

Wu Pengpeng felt a pang of pity. She blew warm air into her hands and gently covered his ears. Looking up at him, she asked, "Why didn't you go inside?"

He Qianshan lowered his head slightly so that she wouldn't have to stand on tiptoe. Looking into her eyes, he smiled with crescent - shaped eyes. "I didn't want to leave footprints on this snow."

Before dawn this morning, he was woken up by a message from Fu Heng and found that it was snowing. His first thought was to come and watch the snow with her.

But when he arrived at the castle and saw the large expanse of untouched white snow, he suddenly didn't want to ruin the beauty of the scenery.

Wu Pengpeng had said before that she liked snow very much. She would surely be happy to see such a beautiful snow scene.

Wu Pengpeng looked back and saw that there were only her footprints on the large expanse of snow behind her.

He must have specifically told Aunt Tang not to let anyone ruin the snow scene.

Wu Pengpeng looked back at He Qianshan's loving eyes. She felt as if a rare heavy snow was falling in her heart, and all she could see was beauty.

The magnificent scenery on earth was right in front of her.

"Thank you. I like it very much," she said, standing on tiptoe and gently kissing him.

He Qianshan deepened the innocent kiss and whispered in her ear, "Let's go skiing in Switzerland."
