Chapter 19: Chi Jiaojiao

What on earth did she answer?

The interviewer in front of her twitched the corner of his mouth, looking at her with a mix of amusement and exasperation. Chi Xu beside him didn't even bother to pretend, laughing heartily.

Jiang Yuan quickly tried to make up for it and continued smoothly, "Moreover, I'm also proficient in using QQ for various data collection and personnel registration tasks."

Data collection and personnel registration? The "Dragon - Chain Butler" mini - program can handle it all in one go.

It's extremely convenient. She just made it sound more high - class.

The interviewer held back his laughter and continued to ask questions seriously.

Maybe because the initial nervousness had worn off, Jiang Yuan gradually relaxed. Her answers became more and more fluent, without the blunders from the beginning.

When the interview was over, Jiang Yuan had just stepped out of the door when Chi Xu followed up behind her.

Jiang Yuan glanced at him and asked, "Why did you come out? There are still so many people. Don't you need to listen?"

"If I had to listen to every single person, wouldn't I be exhausted?" Chi Xu gave a soft snort, seemingly discontented. "Besides, didn't you want me to come?"

"Don't..." talk nonsense. Changing the subject, Jiang Yuan suddenly thought of something and looked at Chi Xu suspiciously. "How did you know I was interviewing for the office position?"

There were seven departments and two classrooms. Was it just a coincidence that he was sitting at the office interview position, waiting for her to walk right into his trap?

Chi Xu was silent for a few seconds, then praised her nonchalantly, "You're quite smart. Maybe I've been secretly observing you."

"Don't change the subject. Tell me the reason. I remember very clearly that I never told you I was interviewing for the office."

The more she thought about it, the less plausible it seemed.

"Alright, alright. I arrived earlier. I saw you walking in the direction of the office, so I got there one step ahead of you." Chi Xu said without batting an eyelid, looking extremely serious. "It's your own fault for not seeing me. Now you're being so suspicious."

"I'm so innocent. You heartless little thing." He glared at her resentfully, making it sound quite convincing.

Jiang Yuan thought carefully. At that time, when she was queuing up, she was fully focused on memorizing her answers and really didn't pay much attention to her surroundings. So, her doubts were somewhat alleviated.

Hearing his aggrieved voice like that of a wronged woman in a boudoir, she let out a "puff" of laughter.

Jiang Yuan laughed without restraint and spoke bluntly, "Are you still that Chi Xu? You're so delicate. You might as well change your name to Chi Jiaojiao."

Chi · Chi Jiaojiao · Xu: "..."

"Oh right, you're also quite tsundere sometimes. The name Chi Jiaojiao suits you perfectly." Jiang Yuan looked up at him with a smile, her eyes and eyebrows beaming with joy.

Chi Xu was so amused by her that he raised both hands and fiercely pinched the girl's cheeks. "Let's see if you dare to spout nonsense again. Do you still dare to call me Chi Jiaojiao?"

Jiang Yuan's cheeks puffed up from his pinching, and her mouth puckered like a cute puffer fish. But she still tried hard to open her eyes wide and stared back at Chi Xu defiantly.

Her voice came out vaguely from her squeezed mouth, "I will call you. Chi Jiaojiao, Chi Jiaojiao..."

Over there, Lin Suye had already finished her interview and was waiting for Jiang Yuan in the stairwell.

As soon as Jiang Yuan appeared, Lin Suye rushed over excitedly to say hello. But halfway through, Chi Xu's figure gradually came into view, and she quickly stopped short.

Seeing their intimate actions, she stood there awkwardly, not knowing whether to say hello or not.

Just as she was hesitating, Jiang Yuan also saw Lin Suye. She forcefully slapped Chi Xu's hand away, glared at him, and took out her phone to tidy up her messy hair.

The tall and straight young man stood on the stairs against the light. The shadowy eyes reflected the figure of his beloved, filled with gentle and helpless smiles.

Jiang Yuan tied up her ponytail, lifted her chin, and pointed at her friend Lin Suye. "I'm going to eat. You can fend for yourself."

Chi Xu watched her leave.

"Chi Jiaojiao?" He murmured softly. Maybe something about it hit his funny bone, for the smile always lingered on his lips.

The student council interview was scheduled for noon. Jiang Yuan and Lin Suye had a class in the last period of the morning. After class, they rushed to the interview without eating.

By this time, the lunchtime had passed, and there were only a few students in the cafeteria. Jiang Yuan and Lin Suye randomly got their meals and found a seat by the window to eat.

Unfortunately, they couldn't even eat in peace.

Halfway through their meal, two shadows loomed over them. Jiang Yuan looked up and saw two unfamiliar male students.

The male student gave a silly laugh and pointed to their seats. "Hey,学妹, do you mind if we sit here?"

Jiang Yuan was sitting at a long table with comfortable and soft small sofas on both sides. There was definitely enough room for them.

She asked Lin Suye's opinion, and Lin Suye didn't object.

The boy shouted to his friends still at the food - serving window, "Hurry up, you two!"

Huh? Not two, but four?

Jiang Yuan suddenly regretted her decision. Looking at the little food left on her plate, she decided to finish eating quickly and run away.

But somehow, Lin Suye didn't understand her look. She still ate her food slowly, stopping from time to time to chat.

The two boys at the window slowly walked towards them, and a familiar voice drifted over.

"Jiang Kuo, why did you choose this..."

Chi Xu's words suddenly stopped as he locked eyes with Jiang Yuan.

Jiang Kuo nodded with a grin. "This is a great seat, isn't it?"

Chi Xu was stunned for a moment, then quickly reacted. His eyes swept between Jiang Yuan and Jiang Kuo and the others.

Jiang Yuan gave an awkward smile and secretly groaned in her heart. She didn't expect to run into him again so soon after they parted.

Half an hour ago, she had the courage to boldly call him Chi Jiaojiao. But after the meal, her courage seemed to have vanished. She felt neither confident nor bold.

Chi Xu and his other friend carried their trays over and sat down in the empty seats.

Jiang Yuan buried her head in her food, trying her best to avoid making too much eye contact with Chi Xu. But her heart was pounding like a little rabbit.

Jia Fang and He Suyan weren't eating properly. Instead, they were like kids, fighting over a bottle of cola.

Chi Xu had a bit of a headache and didn't want to admit they were his roommates. So, he quietly ate his meal beside them.

The atmosphere at the table was a bit strange. Lin Suye noticed Jiang Yuan's uneasiness and also speeded up her eating.

The two boys didn't seem to notice anything amiss. Their minds were all on who would get the cola, fooling around.

"This is my cola. I brought it."

"No, no. I bought this cola. It should be mine."

Such childish conversation.

"Yuanyuan, let's go buy some desserts later. I'm kind of craving them. How about you? Do you want some?" Lin Suye was about to finish her meal. With food in her mouth, she mumbled indistinctly.

"Sure. I'm kind of craving them too."

Chi Xu beside them paused slightly. He looked up at the two who were fighting over the cola, snatched it, and placed it in front of Jiang Yuan.

"This can also count as a dessert. Here you go."
