Chapter 128: Forgive Him a Tiny Bit

The weather forecast showed heavy rain today.

Thunder rumbled in the distance, and the cold rain pitter - pattered against the window glass. Chilly air seeped in through the cracks.

Jiang Yuan woke up at this moment. Her throat was dry, and her temples throbbed faintly.

She caught sight of an unopened bottle of mineral water on the bedside table. She opened it and gulped down almost half of it. Gradually, she came to her senses.

Suddenly, she realized something was wrong.

This wasn't her dormitory!

Jiang Yuan jerked her head up and looked around. The familiar furnishings told her that this was exactly the room in her previous apartment.

What had happened last night?

Fragments of memories from her drunken state slowly resurfaced. Jiang Yuan rubbed her temples hard.

It seemed that Chi Xu had carried her back last night, and... she might have even bitten him!

The more she thought about it, the more panicked she became. Why, out of all her girlfriends, had they left only her behind?

And even left her in Chi Xu's care.

Jiang Yuan angrily unlocked her phone. It was 11:30 a.m. She quickly opened WeChat and saw several unread messages.

[Light or Heavy Makeup, Always Beautiful: Sister Jiang Yuan, I'm back in the dorm. Hehe, don't thank me for creating this encounter between you and Chi Xu.]

Right! No wonder Chi Xu had suddenly appeared in the middle of them hiring male models. It turned out that Song Xiangyi had been pulling the strings behind the scenes.

[Light or Heavy Makeup, Always Beautiful: Did you take a lot of footage? Sister, send me some when you wake up. I'll have a good laugh on my own. Brother Chi Xu finally has such a day. I'm dying of laughter.]

No way, Jiang Yuan angrily typed these two words and sent them.

Yu Huan, Su Kexin and the others also sent messages saying they had reached the dorm. Lin Suye was still blocked.

Jiang Yuan went straight to the dorm group and @ them.

[Prayer Must Come True: Why did you guys leave me with Chi Xu last night? Angry.jpg]

Maybe the others in the dorm group were still sleeping, as no one replied to her.

Jiang Yuan lowered her head and opened the videos. There were seven or eight videos of Chi Xu doing dares.

Seeing these funny videos, a smile spread across Jiang Yuan's face. The corners of her mouth twitched upwards, and her mood, which had been sour from being left behind, improved a bit.

She reeked of alcohol. Jiang Yuan took a shower, changed her clothes, and came out. As she dried her wet hair, she heard scratching sounds at the door.

Accompanied by an eager "meow".

Jiang Yuan's eyes lit up. She hadn't seen Jiao Jiao for a long time. When she opened the door, there was indeed the cute Jiao Jiao.

She buried her head in Jiao Jiao's furry head and took a deep breath. Her hands were busy too, stroking Jiao Jiao's pink paws and soft belly.

Until a suppressed laugh sounded.

Jiang Yuan froze. Slowly, she turned her head and saw Chi Xu sitting on the sofa.

He was wearing a dark - blue chunky sweater and white jeans. Holding his phone, he slumped a bit on the sofa. His short bangs were slightly messy, and his beautiful black eyes were filled with amusement as he stared straight at her.

"Why are you here?" Jiang Yuan blurted out.

Chi Xu seemed surprised. He lowered his eyes slightly. His thick eyelashes cast a fan - like shadow under the light. He spoke, looking wronged and innocent.

"Yuanyuan, why can't I be here?

"This is our home!" As if he thought it was a valid point, he added another sentence, sounding quite confident.

His dark, moist eyes rolled slightly, looking utterly harmless.

"This is only your home. I'm just a tenant here," Jiang Yuan stood up, leaned against the door, and corrected him calmly.

"Then who was it that bit me hard last night and said they would be responsible for me?" The boy suddenly hung his head, looking extremely docile. He pulled his sweater down a bit.

A faint mark suddenly came into view.

Jiang Yuan was stunned. She opened her mouth, trying to say something, but it felt as if something was stuck in her throat, and she couldn't utter a single word.

Over there, Chi Xu turned around, his back to her, and pulled the sweater on his back down a bit too.

A row of neat tooth marks was clearly visible, even clearer than the one on his collarbone.

"And this. Yuanyuan, you left two marks on my back and collarbone without mercy. You said last night that you wanted to be with me forever and leave your exclusive mark on me.

"Did you forget all about it after just one night, Yuanyuan?"

Chi Xu, with his back to Jiang Yuan, had the corners of his mouth slightly upturned. His eyes were clear and bright, but the words he spoke were full of grievance and pity.

Jiang Yuan's head hurt from being confronted with these two marks one after another. She tried to recall. She seemed to have bitten him, but she couldn't remember what she had specifically said.

"You can't take this seriously. I was drunk. Do you really want to argue with a drunk person?"

Because of her guilt, her tone when speaking to Chi Xu softened a lot. It wasn't as cold as before.

She silently vowed in her heart that she would never get drunk again. Even with her friends around, they were completely unreliable.

Jiang Yuan silently complained in her heart.

"Woo - woo - woo, you really don't admit it, Yuanyuan. It's okay. I deserve it. I should just accept this outcome."

The boy tilted his head slightly, looking at the wet window. He reached out and tidied his clothes silently. His shoulders trembled slightly.

There was no movement from the person behind him. Chi Xu continued to feel sorry for himself.

"Really, it's okay, Yuanyuan. I was in the wrong before. It's only natural that you're cold to me. You made me do so many dares last night. I thought you were no longer angry.

"I'll keep trying until you forgive me..."

Jiang Yuan couldn't help but take a step forward. Seeing Chi Xu's desolate figure, her heart felt as if it was blocked. She felt stuffy and out of breath.

Last night, some of the dares had been a bit too much, but Chi Xu had still completed them seriously without any evasion.

Had she gone too far? She didn't have to completely forgive him. Maybe forgiving him a tiny bit was okay.

Jiang Yuan bit her lip, looking extremely conflicted.

In the end, she gave in to Chi Xu's deliberate soft - spoken act.

"Fine, I'll forgive you just a tiny bit. Just this little bit."

As soon as the words left her mouth, the boy sitting on the sofa suddenly turned around. His eyes were as bright as a lit light - bulb. The smile spread from the corners of his eyes and brows all the way to his mouth. He couldn't stop grinning.

She heard Chi Xu ask excitedly, "Really?!"

Was this too easy?

Jiang Yuan thought for a moment. This dog - like man had deceived her for a long time.

No, she absolutely couldn't forgive him so easily. She had to let him know how far he was from meeting her standards.

"Chi Xu, I have forgiven you, but only this tiny bit."

Jiang Yuan held up her index finger and pointed with the other finger at the range of forgiveness, which was one - twentieth of her whole index finger.

"And this is only because you let me vent a little last night."

Chi Xu didn't mind at all. "It's okay, Yuanyuan. I'll keep trying until you completely forgive me."
