Chapter 30: The Choice

The priest had no idea what An Ke would choose. Anyway, without his permission, none of the three of them could leave this place today. Since that was the case, he didn't mind playing a game of cat and mouse with them.

The priest's face was hidden in the darkness. A faint smile curled up on his lips. He crouched down and tore off the ropes binding Bo Jinnian and the tape gagging his mouth.

He was confident that he could keep them here. "Ke'er, don't say I'm heartless. You can discuss among yourselves who will live and who will die. I'll still respect your decision."

An Ke stared at the priest in shock. Subconsciously, she glanced at He Ting and Bo Jinnian beside her, only to meet He Ting's gaze. There were too many emotions in that look that An Ke couldn't quite understand.

So, she simply turned her head away and ignored He Ting. She had originally wanted to escape from He Ting. wasn't this the perfect opportunity? Why was she hesitating at this moment?

Had she really been touched by He Ting and fallen in love with him? But he had tried to kill her three years ago. Should she still take the initiative to get closer to him?

An Ke's tangled expression was caught by Bo Jinnian. He didn't want An Ke to make such a difficult decision. He let out a cold laugh. "Priest, both An Ke and I are members of the organization. Won't your actions against us disappoint the others in the organization?"

Hearing this, the priest kept shaking his head and waving his hands. "I can't admit to that. As long as An Ke is loyal to the organization and chooses to let you live, I'll naturally let you all leave safely."

The priest's words completely put An Ke in a dilemma. If she didn't choose Bo Jinnian, it would mean she was disloyal to the organization, and all three of them would meet their end here.

Throughout this process, He Ting remained silent. He also wanted to see if An Ke would choose him. He wanted to know what was really on An Ke's mind!

"Priest, I know you're targeting He Ting because he has important materials in his hands. I can ask He Ting to hand over this information in exchange for our three lives."

An Ke gritted her teeth. She couldn't let He Ting die for her and Bo Jinnian. He Ting was innocent. She couldn't make such a decision, or she would surely regret it.

"He Ting, are you willing to hand over that information?" An Ke turned back to seek He Ting's opinion. For some reason, she felt that He Ting would surely agree to her.

He Ting glanced at An Ke. He didn't know what to think. At least An Ke hadn't given up on him right away and was willing to negotiate with the priest for his sake.

However, the priest wasn't that easy to deal with. He Ting looked at the priest who had been standing there like a superior. A thoughtful look flashed in his eyes. It seemed that today wasn't going to be a lucky day.

He Ting was silent for a while, which successfully made An Ke's heart leap into her throat. "Okay, I can agree, but priest, will you agree?"

The priest knew that He Ting was a tough nut to crack. But he hadn't intended to hide it either. He clapped his hands at He Ting. He had indeed chosen well. He Ting would surely pose a threat to the organization.

"Sure enough, you're the famous Young Master He. Yes, even if you hand over that information, I don't need it anymore. Because as long as you're dead, no one will know the whereabouts of that document."

The priest felt that he must keep He Ting here forever today. Maybe it was because He Ting had hit the nail on the head with his thoughts, making him feel threatened.

So his already dwindling patience was completely exhausted. He directly said to An Ke, "An Ke, make your choice quickly! Otherwise, I'll choose for you!"

After saying that, the priest directly pressed the knife against Bo Jinnian's neck, successfully flustering An Ke and forcing her to make a choice.

An Ke clenched her fists tightly. Bo Jinnian had been her partner for all these years. The two of them had been through life - and - death situations together for a long time. She couldn't just watch him get hurt.

On the other hand, He Ting had tried to kill her three years ago. If it hadn't been for her good fortune, she wouldn't be standing here today. So wasn't the choice obvious?

An Ke took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and refused to look at He Ting's face. It was as if by doing so, she could care about nothing. "I choose for Senior Brother to live."

He Ting looked at An Ke's face. This might be the last time he would ever see her. As long as An Ke could survive, he would be at ease. Bo Jinnian would take good care of her.

But why was his vision so blurry? He Ting had long known that no matter what, the priest wouldn't let him go, so he had already prepared himself for death.

But when An Ke finally said those words, he felt how deeply his heart had been hurt. This was already the third time.

He Ting let out a bitter smile. He moved his lips slightly at Bo Jinnian without making a sound. "I'll have to rely on you from now on. Take good care of An Ke."

"Ke'er, sure enough, I didn't misjudge you. Young Master He, come with me. You don't want to die in front of An Ke, do you?" The priest ordered his men to drag He Ting away.

An Ke just watched silently. Then she silently helped Bo Jinnian up. "Are you okay?"

Bo Jinnian subconsciously looked at An Ke's expression, but he couldn't find anything. He could only suppress all his doubts in his heart.

On the other side, the priest and He Ting were both staring at the monitor screen in front of them. The previous room could be seen on it, and An Ke and Bo Jinnian's every move was being broadcast in real - time.

"Young Master He, I didn't expect you to be so great. How do you feel seeing your beloved and your rival leaving? Don't you have any feelings?"

He Ting watched An Ke and Bo Jinnian's every move. Seeing An Ke leave, he was relieved. He had been worried that the priest would go back on his word.

"Do you believe me if I say I'm very angry?" He Ting's expression was cold. Even though he was embarrassedly abandoned by his beloved and forced to sit on the ground, he still looked like a noble young master.

The priest had long since lost the desire to play cat - and - mouse with him. He could see that he was no match for He Ting. But from today on, there would be no more He Ting in this world.

"Hold him tightly."

He Ting's hands and feet were fixed to the ground. He didn't understand how the priest would deal with him, but he wasn't panicked.

"He Ting, I'm going to let you feel the blood slowly leaving your body. You'll slowly become weak, but no one will come to save you. You'll feel the despair."

The priest laughed arrogantly. Then with a swift movement of his hand, there were suddenly four wounds on He Ting's wrists and ankles, and the blood kept flowing out.

The priest looked at his masterpiece with satisfaction. Watching He Ting's face turn paler and paler, he waved his hand and told his subordinates to let go of him. "He Ting, just stay here and fend for yourself!"

He Ting endured the pain. Since the priest didn't kill him with one knife, he still had a glimmer of hope for survival. He didn't want to give up. He still wanted to see An Ke one more time.

An Ke... An Ke...
