Chapter 35: A Visit

Early the next morning, An Ke was still dreaming that He Ting was looking at her disappointedly in her sleep. Then He Ting turned into a monster and chased after her, which made her sleep restlessly throughout the night.

The warm sun shone on An Ke's cheek. She was like a greedy kitten, lingering in this warmth and reluctant to wake up. Subconsciously, she rubbed her face back and forth on the quilt. "Ding ding ding ding ding..."

An annoying alarm rang, waking up the sleeping An Ke. Half - awake, she fumbled to turn off the alarm, then turned over and continued to sleep.

However, not long after, An Ke suddenly sat up like a carp flipping. She squinted slightly at the sun outside the window and unconsciously groped for her phone on the bed.

Since the alarm had just rung, she didn't know where she had thrown the phone. An Ke felt a pang of uneasiness and quickly rummaged through the quilt, hoping to find it.

"Fortunately, it's not lost. Let me see what time it is. It's seven o'clock. It's not too late yet." An Ke thought about going back to sleep for a while, but then she remembered that she had discussed with Bo Jinnian that they were going to visit He Ting soon.

"Let's go!" As soon as An Ke, who had finished getting ready, stepped out of the door, she saw Bo Jinnian waiting for her. Her heart skipped a beat. She knew that Bo Jinnian was worried about her.

Bo Jinnian's eyes darkened. An Ke today was quite different from usual. Was it because she was going to see He Ting? A thought flashed through Bo Jinnian's mind.

Then he didn't dwell on it any longer. Anyway, after today, he was going to take An Ke away from this country where He Ting was. He didn't need to worry anymore.

"This is He Ting's ward. I've sent Li Li away. I'll go find the doctor first. You can go in and see him." After arriving at the hospital, Bo Jinnian had arranged everything.

In the ward, An Ke sat beside the hospital bed, looking at He Ting sleeping there. She finally felt relieved.

He Ting was okay, so she could rest assured. An Ke reached out her hand, wanting to touch He Ting's face. Although his face was so close, she hesitated.

Just then, "Deng deng... Deng deng..." came the sound of knocking on the door. An Ke carefully glanced at He Ting. He didn't seem to be waking up, so she felt at ease.

She walked over to open the door. It was the nurse who took care of He Ting. An Ke leaned against the door. "Nurse, is there anything?"

The nurse didn't recognize An Ke and thought she was He Ting's friend. She smiled slightly. "Miss, please go to the doctor later. The doctor has something to tell your family members."

An Ke nodded. "Okay, I'll go later." The nurse saw that An Ke understood, then took a look at He Ting who was still unconscious and left.

In the office, the doctor picked up the examination report. Hearing the knocking on the door, he already knew it was An Ke. He put down the case report. "Come in. It's Miss Wei. Please take a seat."

After An Ke sat down, she didn't know why the doctor had called her. She thought something might be wrong with He Ting's health. Looking at the doctor worriedly, she asked, "Doctor, how is Mu Rong's health? Is it very serious?"

The doctor knew that An Ke had misunderstood his intention. He smiled reassuringly and casually handed her a cup of tea. "Miss Wei, don't worry. Mr. Mu Rong's health has recovered. It seems that there's no major problem. You can rest assured."

Hearing the doctor's words, An Ke finally let out a sigh of relief. "Really? That's great. Thank you, doctor. Then why did you call me here?"

The doctor smiled kindly. "It's nothing serious. I just wanted to inform you not to worry too much."

Bo Jinnian was leaning against the wall outside the doctor's office. Seeing An Ke come out with a relieved look on her face, he smiled. "Now you can rest assured, right? Can we set off and leave?"

An Ke nodded. It was really time to leave. Otherwise, if He Ting woke up, it would be a question whether she and Bo Jinnian could leave safely.

"Tomorrow, we'll go abroad immediately and live a care - free life." Thinking of the days ahead, An Ke felt that her heart was filled with sunshine.

On the other hand, when the shareholders learned that He Ting was hospitalized and in a coma, they couldn't sit still. Among them, Du Ming, General Manager Du, was the most active one.

Du Ming even convened a shareholders' meeting and demanded to replace the company's chairman at the meeting. After all, the company couldn't be without a leader, and his request was reasonable.

"General Manager Du, the shareholders' meeting is about to start. Do you think General Manager He will wake up and stop us?" Du Ming's assistant flattered him as he handed Du Ming his suit jacket.

Du Ming didn't move. He just stretched out his arms. The assistant suddenly realized and patted his forehead, then gently helped Du Ming put on the jacket.

"Your status will be extraordinary in the future. It's my fault that I even forgot this. I'm really damned. I hope Chairman Du won't take it to heart."

The assistant's words made Du Ming smile complacently. He had dedicated so many years to this lousy company and had to be subordinate to that kid He Ting. Now he could finally turn the tables.

Du Ming buttoned up his suit one by one, his eyes sinister. Now no one could stop him, not even if He Ting woke up.

"Creak..." As the door opened, the air in the meeting room suddenly fell silent. All the shareholders sat upright, as if they hadn't been talking just now.

"Dear shareholders, you're all here. I'm not late, am I?" Du Ming greeted with a smile. I'm afraid no one knew what was really on Du Ming's mind.

Fu Qing didn't say a word. He was He Ting's confidant and naturally knew what Du Ming was up to by convening the shareholders' meeting at this critical moment. But he didn't have enough power to stop it, so he was waiting, waiting for the person who could change the situation to arrive.

Before that person came, he would let Du Ming be happy for a while. He just hoped that Du Ming wouldn't make a scene in the meeting room later.

After some pleasantries, Du Ming didn't stand on ceremony and directly sat in the seat that once belonged to He Ting. This action made many people understand Du Ming's intention.

But so what? Since ancient times, the high - position has always been held by the capable. Now there was no one in the company who could compete with Du Ming.

Du Ming looked around. Since no one said a word, it meant he was right. It seemed that it was really a good choice for him to take the initiative.

"Previously, when Chairman He passed away, He Ting took over. Now He Ting has also had an accident. The company's progress can't be delayed. The reason I convened this shareholders' meeting is to elect a capable person who can temporarily replace He Ting."
