Chapter 40: Betrayal

Jiang Man, being a rich man's daughter after all, excelled others in both upbringing and knowledge. It was just that she had never bothered to use such advantages before.

However, for the sake of He Ting, Jiang Man had long thrown caution to the wind. Relying on her own capabilities, she had already gained a voice in Bian's company.

This time, Jiang Man came after receiving a threat from He Xian, eager to know what He Xian was up to. He Xian was always so mysterious that Jiang Man couldn't figure out his thoughts, nor could she confide her worries to anyone.

Jiang Man had been really troubled recently.

"Just say what you want. I've got a ton of things to do!" Jiang Man felt scared as He Xian stared at her intently.

Although He Xian had never done anything too serious to her, Jiang Man, following her animal instincts, always felt that He Xian was not that simple.

He Xian didn't notice Jiang Man's expression and didn't care either. He picked up the coffee in front of him and took a sip, showing none of Jiang Man's nervousness.

"Don't you want to win He Ting? I'm helping you now. Isn't this what you've always wanted?"

Jiang Man didn't want to hear He Ting's name from He Xian's mouth, as it made her feel like she was betraying He Ting. She didn't want to waste any more words with He Xian.

"Just tell me what you want me to do. I really have things to do and can't waste time here."

He Xian found that Jiang Man was truly in a hurry, so he gave up the idea of teasing her. He calmly put down the coffee and said, "These are my requirements for you. If you can meet them, He Ting will surely be yours. Good luck, Miss Jiang!"

He Xian handed a document to Jiang Man and left directly without waiting for her answer. He had that much confidence. Jiang Man stared blankly at the document in front of her, completely in a daze. She didn't know whether she should pick it up or not.

In the end, Jiang Man picked up the document. She found a deserted place to read it. It turned out to be a plan to deal with An Ke. Jiang Man had thought it was a plan against He Ting, so she was relieved.

Recently, He Ting's company had been preparing for the new product launch, and Jiang Man had participated in the preparation of the plan. Now, her target was this very plan.

Jiang Man took a deep breath, suppressing all her emotions, hoping not to be discovered.

Jiang Man blamed all her moral pangs on He Xian. She always thought that it was because He Xian had threatened her that she could act without scruples.

Jiang Man refused to think about her own faults in this matter. She deliberately ignored her own problems. To succeed, she had to take action when He Ting was not in the company, and now was the perfect opportunity.

However, things once again disappointed Jiang Man. As soon as she entered the company, she found that He Ting had come to work, and he had even removed the status of several major shareholders.

Thanks to her father's prudence, the Jiang family didn't have any major problems, but Jiang Man was fired by He Ting. Now, she no longer belonged to the company.

The only good thing was that Jiang Man heard that An Ke had left He Ting. Now that He Ting was alone, it was the best chance for her.

These days, Jiang Man had been going to the company to deliver meals to He Ting under the pretext of caring about him. And it was always a loving breakfast. Since she was so high - profile every time she came, everyone in the company knew about her.

Most of the employees in the company were talking about it. Chu Lin didn't mention anything about it to He Ting. He was cold - hearted and didn't take such things to heart.

One day, Jiang Man came again to deliver a loving breakfast. She really loved He Ting, not for his money. So she was willing to spend time learning how to cook for him.

These days, she had gotten up early every day. All the meals were cooked by her own hands, and she had even been injured in the process. But she was willing to do housework for the man she loved.

Jiang Man was not unaware of He Ting's special feelings for Fu Ruoqing, but she chose not to think or care. After all, the reason she approached He Ting was her love for him, which made her feel even more guilty.

However, this wouldn't make her give up on He Ting. If she wanted to, she could easily send Fu Ruoqing to prison for life.

After He Ting agreed to let Jiang Man deliver meals, he had informed the receptionist in advance that as long as Jiang Man came, there was no need to announce her arrival. She could just come up directly so as not to disturb his work.

He Ting had said this just for his own convenience, but he didn't expect it to deepen Jiang Man's misunderstanding of him. Jiang Man thought that He Ting still cared about her, which was one of the reasons she had persisted these days.

Jiang Man watched the bustling employees going to work in He Ting's company. An elevator was instantly filled to capacity. Jiang Man just gave it a mocking look and then went to He Ting's private elevator beside it. It was empty, just perfect for her.

Jiang Man always used this elevator when she came. She had even imagined that one day when she married He Ting and became his wife, she could take this elevator with him and tell him how she felt now.

With such thoughts in mind, Jiang Man reached He Ting's office floor. "Ding... " The elevator door opened.

Jiang Man tidied up her makeup, trying to present her best self. Then she gently knocked on the door and heard He Ting's voice from inside.

"Come in!" Jiang Man forced a sweet smile, trying her best to maintain her image. She was already quite skilled at this.

He Ting, who had been working, looked up and saw a smiling Jiang Man. It had to be said that such a Jiang Man was quite likable.

Jiang Man placed the breakfast she had brought on He Ting's desk with a smile. "President He, I've come to deliver breakfast for you. Could you put down your work?"

In front of He Ting, Jiang Man would subconsciously imitate An Ke's personality. Maybe she didn't even notice this, and it was also the reason why He Ting tolerated Jiang Man getting so close to him.

He Ting looked at Jiang Man amusingly but still obediently put down his pen, walked to the table, and sat on the sofa.

"Is it a new dish today? Steak with sauce, right?" He Ting looked at the food in the lunch box and asked Jiang Man. Jiang Man nodded. These days, she had been changing the dishes constantly in order to surprise He Ting and attract him. She had heard that to make a man fall in love with you, you had to satisfy his taste buds.

He Ting didn't comment. Except when it came to An Ke, he treated everyone the same. If Jiang Man didn't still have some value to him, He Ting wouldn't have tolerated her staying by his side for so long.
