"Helton, would you like to help me?" Jiang Man asked somewhat gingerly. The torture from Yuan Ping last time had left quite a shadow on her.
Helton didn't want to waste any more words on Jiang Man. An Ke's condition couldn't afford any delay. "Sure, as long as I can do it. But I'm in a hurry to see the priest now. You can talk to Yuan Ping about your requests!"
Jiang Man quickly agreed. Although she didn't really want to see Yuan Ping, for her own purpose, she still consented. "The priest should be in the old warehouse in the south of the city now. You can go find him right away!"
With the information about the priest, Helton wasted no time and rushed to find him.
"Priest, we meet again!"
It was the first time for Helton to talk to the priest so calmly. All along, they had been at odds with each other, and every time they met, it was a life - or - death situation.
The priest knew that his demand would surely be fulfilled today, so he wasn't in a hurry anymore. He even had the leisure to chat with Helton for a while.
"I'm honored to see you again, the noble Mr. Helton. I wonder what brings you to me. Have you had enough of your happy life with An Ke?"
Helton was in no mood to chat nonsense with him. "Priest, stop pretending. I want to know how you will give me the antidote?"
He couldn't guarantee An Ke's life, and he didn't want to waste a single moment.
The priest burst into laughter. He never thought that the renowned Helton would one day bow to others. It was really a pleasant day.
But soon, the priest became serious. "An Ke is a member of our organization. The medicine she took is from our organization, and the antidote is naturally in my hands."
For the priest, the antidote was not something rare, but it could control Helton and help him get what he had always wanted.
Helton gritted his teeth. He knew that things wouldn't end well today. "I just want the antidote. What are your conditions? Just say it. I'll surely do it."
The priest smiled faintly. "You know what I want, Helton. Let's just be straightforward. I want the information in your hand." The information that could completely destroy the organization. This had always been the priest's goal.
That information was a topographical map of the organization's base. Whoever got this map would mean the end of the organization's survival.
This was something the priest would never tolerate.
Helton thought for a while and still agreed. "I can give you that information. But what about you? Can you keep your promise?" After all, what Helton was most afraid of was that the priest would go back on his word and deceive him.
The priest chuckled. He thought his credibility was quite good. "Then, have you read that information? Have you memorized all of it?"
The priest wasn't stupid. If Helton had read the information, it would be useless even if he got it. He had to eliminate this possibility from the source.
"Yes, the information is deeply engraved in my mind." Helton had deliberately memorized it for secrecy before, so he knew that the priest wouldn't let him go easily.
The priest's eyes turned vicious. "Since you've read it, then you can die. As long as I receive the news of your death, I'll naturally send An Ke's antidote to her."
After saying that, the priest left directly. Anyway, the decision was in his hands. Whether Helton believed it or not, for An Ke's sake, he had to make a choice.
"Bo Jinnian, I'd like to have a talk with you. Can you come out?"
Bo Jinnian was a bit surprised to receive Helton's call. He knew that Helton regarded him as a love rival and had always prevented him from getting close to An Ke. So what had happened that could make Helton change his mind?
"Helton, you didn't call me out just to let me admire your melancholy look, did you?" Although he knew that wasn't Helton's intention, Bo Jinnian still joked subconsciously.
Helton frowned. He was a bit worried about leaving An Ke in Bo Jinnian's care, but there was no other more suitable person around An Ke.
"I hope you can marry An Ke." Helton directly stated his intention. He didn't have much time left and had to act quickly.
Bo Jinnian thought Helton was joking and got a bit angry. "What do you mean? An Ke isn't an item that can be passed around. Helton, this joke of yours has gone too far."
Helton shook his head and didn't want to say more. "Don't you want to marry An Ke? It's over between An Ke and me. I don't like her anymore..."
He endured the sharp pain in his heart and denied all his love for An Ke.
Bo Jinnian frowned tightly. Helton's state was wrong, and he was suspicious. So he asked hesitantly, "What on earth do you mean?"
"I still have something to do. I'll leave An Ke in your care from now on."
After saying that, Helton left. Bo Jinnian was completely confused and couldn't figure out what had happened. He always felt that Helton was like someone making his last wishes.
In the hospital, An Ke woke up, but Helton wasn't by her side. She was indeed a bit disappointed, but thinking of what had happened last night, she still smiled.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, she looked back, and sure enough, it was Helton who had returned. An Ke quickly stepped forward. "Helton, I've thought about the answer from last night. I..."
Helton pushed An Ke away and endured the heartache. "Stop talking. I already know. An Ke, let's never see each other again. I don't like you anymore!"
An Ke took a step back in disbelief. How was it possible? The man who had knelt on the ground and begged for her forgiveness just yesterday had changed so quickly?
She didn't believe that Helton could be such a person. She still held out hope. "Helton, do you know what you're saying? Are you sick?"
She even reached out to feel his temperature. It was normal, without any problem. An Ke had a bad feeling in her heart. She might lose the man who had always cherished her today.
"Do you think I'll like a woman who has hurt me again and again? An Ke, do you know how much pain you've caused me?"
Helton's eyes were blood - shot. He was already desperate. He also did this so that An Ke wouldn't be sad in the future. While An Ke's affection for him wasn't too deep, he decided to cut off all ties.
An Ke didn't believe that these words would come out of Helton's mouth. "Helton, don't be like this. If there's anything, just say it. We'll bear it together. I..."
"Stop talking. Go find Bo Jinnian!" Helton directly interrupted An Ke. He was afraid that if he listened any longer, he wouldn't be able to bear to leave An Ke and this world.
But he had to be cruel. Only in this way could An Ke survive.
"What did you say? Helton told you to marry me?" An Ke asked Bo Jinnian in disbelief.
