Chapter 49

During the break, Joyno snuggled tightly against Luo Yize's shoulder to rest.

The crew members on the set were busy packing up the stalls and hastily preparing for the second night scene.

The director was extremely strict. He demanded that all the night scenes be shot within these few nights.

Just then, the director walked up to Joyno and Luo Yize. He was about to tell them to get ready for the next scene when he noticed Joyno looking drowsy. He quickly nudged her and said, "Are you already this exhausted after just one scene?!"

Joyno's head was throbbing. She slowly sat up from Luo Yize's shoulder, forcing a smile. "Sorry! I'm really a bit tired..."

At that moment, Luo Yize suddenly reached out and touched her forehead. His brows knitted tightly like a pair of squirming flies. "You have a fever!"

The director couldn't believe it. He touched her head and found it burning hot like boiling water. Her face had turned deathly pale. He was deeply worried. "Was it the scene by the fountain just now? You got soaked and caught a bit of wind, right?"

"Maybe..."

"Don't be so unsure at this moment!"

Saying this, the director quickly called over the crew members and arranged for a car.

Joyno didn't even have the strength to walk. The script supervisor suggested getting a stretcher, but Luo Yize politely declined. He carried Joyno onto the car himself.

Luo Yize asked the script supervisor to quickly find an ice pack and put it on Joyno's forehead. His face showed deep concern. He turned to scold Joyno gently, "Yino, do you know how heart - broken I am?"

Joyno let out a soft sigh and didn't dare to argue with him.

Luo Yize thought that she still had the mood to joke with him at this moment.

Joyno's physical strength was completely drained, and she fell into a deep slumber.

Normally, although Joyno was petite, she rarely had serious colds. When she was a child, she had to go to the children's hospital every month. She either had diarrhea or a cold, usually during the seasons of autumn - winter and winter - spring transitions.

The most serious case was when she was four or five years old, during the Spring Festival. She suddenly caught a cold due to getting chilled and had a fever close to 40 degrees Celsius. Her family was extremely worried and rushed her to the children's hospital. She had to get an IV drip for three days before she recovered.

Since Joyno became obsessed with literary creation, staying up late had become her daily routine. Even if she stayed up until two or three o'clock in the morning to finish her manuscript, she never had any serious illness, especially a cold.

The hospital was about forty minutes away from the filming crew's location without traffic jams. But at this time, there was a traffic jam.

Luo Yize was extremely anxious. He urged the driver to speed up. Since it was night, the driver couldn't drive too fast, as it was easy to cause a traffic accident. The driver increased the speed a little while ensuring safety as much as possible. However, the fastest route was still blocked for five to ten minutes, especially the road near the hospital.

They were very close to the hospital, but due to the traffic jam, they couldn't drive smoothly into the parking lot. Luo Yize was so impatient that he simply decided to run. He got out of the car, carried Joyno on his back, and his assistant behind him helped to contact the hospital's emergency department. He rushed towards the emergency entrance of the hospital.

Time slipped away bit by bit.

When Joyno woke up, it was already the next morning. She found herself lying in the hospital, with a drip in her arm.

Luo Yize was sleeping soundly beside her. When he woke up and saw that Joyno was awake, a look of joy appeared on his face.

"You're finally awake!" Luo Yize said happily to her.

Just then, a nurse came over. She first adjusted the speed of the drip, then touched Joyno's head and used a stethoscope to check her body. "Mr. Luo, Miss Joyno's fever has gone down."

A look of relief appeared on Luo Yize's face.

"However, Miss Joyno has been over - exhausted recently, which has led to arrhythmia. So she needs to be observed in the hospital for a few days."

Luo Yize nodded repeatedly. All he cared about was that Joyno's fever had gone down and that she was awake.

Joyno just had a cold caused by getting chilled, not the so - called flu. Although she only needed to rest in the hospital for a few days, the filming schedule was suddenly delayed.

There were still a few night scenes left. If they replaced Joyno at this time to keep up with the filming schedule, it wouldn't be a good idea. Even though Joyno had no acting experience at all, her performance was unexpectedly good. It was hard for any professional and experienced actor to achieve such an effect.

It seemed that everything was predestined.

Joyno saw Luo Yize beside her. "You've been working hard."

"It's okay. I'm not tired at all. But..."

"But what?"

"But if you hadn't woken up, it would have been like the sky was falling in my world."

Hearing this familiar line, Joyno's first reaction was that it was a line from her novel *Turn Around and Meet Love*. Luo Yize just rephrased it.

A look of slight surprise flashed across Joyno's face, and she smiled. "It can't be that serious, can it?"

"I say it is, and it is..." Luo Yize said as he gently held Joyno's hand.
