"Damn it!" Yaohua slapped her forehead and quickly tugged at her master's sleeve. "Master, there are still a few little flying insects I released earlier in the formation prison!"
The prefect had released the false god. What would happen to those little flying insects?
Chongming flipped his palm, and in the faint glow of spiritual power, a few little flying insects were trapped inside, bumping around desperately.
"You scared me!" Yaohua patted her chest in relief. Those little flying insects could bite. If they were accidentally released, it would be a big problem.
"Be more careful in the future," Chongming said as he put away the flying insects. "Let's go."
Dozens of divine envoys were locked up in the dungeon. After their masks were removed, their faces were all pale and bluish. Under the dim yellow light, they looked just like lonely wandering souls.
"Are they not stupid, are they?" Yaohua waved her hand in front of a divine envoy, but the other showed no reaction at all.
A mask was floating in Chongming's palm, emitting a faint demonic aura.
"Master, where did you get this mask?"
Why did it look so familiar?
Yaohua thought for a while but just couldn't remember where she had seen it.
"All these divine envoys were wearing such masks on their faces," Chongming's gaze fell on a divine envoy. The mask in his palm suddenly flew over and turned into a mist, seeping into the divine envoy's face. In the blink of an eye, it disappeared without a trace.
The originally listless divine envoy seemed to be infused with vitality. The next moment, he became panicked.
"Who are you!" He struggled against the ropes on his body. "Aren't you afraid of the punishment from Lord Moon God for capturing me?"
The false god was trapped by the formation next door. Yaohua jerked her chin, motioning for him to look over.
"Lord Moon God? Why are you here?" The divine envoy stared at him in astonishment. Then he immediately reacted and shouted at Yaohua, "Bold! How dare you be disrespectful to Lord Moon God!"
The false god snorted with laughter. "Open your dog eyes and take a good look. That's Divine God Chongming."
The divine envoy was stunned. The lower half of his somewhat rosy face instantly turned pale. "Chong... Divine God Chongming?"
"Divine God, you've seen it too. With people like this, how could I tell him about this?" The false god sneered. "If you don't believe me, feel free to ask."
Chongming remained silent. His clear eyes looked at the divine envoy.
"What's your name?"
"I... My name is Lu Ran." The divine envoy immediately cowered. He shrank his neck and didn't dare to look at Chongming, feeling guilty.
"Lu Ran, if you help me find out the truth about the little flying insects, I'll allow you to go to the Celestial Realm and take on a divine position. How about it?"
Such a generous promise!
You know, many people had spent their entire lives trying to find a way to the Celestial Realm, but now her master was presenting this opportunity to this person!
Yaohua wondered what was so special about this person that her master would think so highly of him.
"But I don't know what the little flying insects are," Lu Ran said regretfully.
"Just answer my questions," Chongming said. He raised his finger and released a wisp of soft white light. The white light fell on Lu Ran, and the ropes on his body instantly disappeared.
He moved around a bit, then quickly slipped out of the prison cell. He pushed aside the messy hair in front of his forehead with both hands, revealing a handsome face.
"Divine God, just ask me whatever you want. I'll definitely tell you everything I know!"
The false god sneered. "The Celestial Realm has truly declined. It accepts anyone."
Yaohua wiggled her finger, silencing the false god.
No one was allowed to say anything bad about her master.
Chongming lowered his gaze and landed on Yaohua. "Yaoyao, you ask."
"Me?" Yaohua pointed at herself in disbelief. Hadn't her master already made an agreement with this person? Why did he want her to ask?
Forget it. Her master must have his own reasons for doing things. It was just that she wasn't smart enough to understand.
Although she was full of doubts, Yaohua still opened her mouth.
"During the night sacrifice, the internal organs of the offerings were dug out. Where were the remaining corpses sent?"
"You've asked the right person!" Lu Ran's face relaxed. "Those corpses were all transported to the mountains. I even went there once."
"Which mountain? Take us there and have a look."
Out of the corner of her eye, Yaohua saw the false god looking ugly. She knew that there must be something wrong with that mountain.
"Of course I can. But what the divine god said just now still counts, right?" Lu Ran readily agreed. After that, he looked at Chongming carefully.
Seeing Chongming nod, his face immediately broke into a big smile.
Soon, they arrived at the mountain Lu Ran had mentioned.
Lu Ran scratched his head. He pointed to a position halfway up the mountain. "When we carried the corpses in, a door would open at that position. After we put the things in, we would be teleported out."
Opening a door halfway up the mountain was something Yaohua couldn't do. She quickly looked at her master.
Chongming raised his hand. In full view of everyone, the mountainside seemed to be torn apart by something, and suddenly a black crack appeared, just wide enough for one person to pass through.
When Lu Ran saw it, he immediately got excited. "That's right. It's exactly this kind of door!"
"Such a crack counts as a door?" Mo Qing was a bit speechless. "Which proper god would do such a thing? You're too easy to compromise."
Yaohua sent her Phoenix Fire in to scout the way. After walking about ten steps, the view suddenly opened up.
Countless night pearls were inlaid on the dome, and ropes hung down from them. Countless corpses were wrapped in white flocculent substances, looking just like silkworm cocoons.
The dense human cocoons were inlaid in the cave. Yaohua took a look and couldn't even see the end.
"How many people have they harmed!" It took Yaohua a while to find her voice.
"A great many," Lu Ran sighed. "Originally, I didn't want to join them either. But as long as you become a divine envoy, your whole family can be protected by Lord Moon God. Then you don't have to worry about your family being sent as offerings in the future."
It turned out that there was such a story behind these divine envoys.
"But now it's okay. With the help of Divine God Chongming and all the divine lords, such things will never happen in Henan Prefecture again."
On the way here, Lu Ran had already heard about what had happened before from Mo Qing. Now he admired Chongming even more. He couldn't even take his eyes off him.
Yaohua coughed lightly. "Will those little flying insects come out once these cocoons break?"
Chongming didn't say a word. He just used his spiritual power to cut open a cocoon.
The white flocculent substance broke open, revealing the pale skin of the corpse. Chongming slightly averted his gaze. His spiritual power penetrated the skin of the corpse, revealing the empty abdominal cavity.
Perhaps because of the protection of the white flocculent substance, the inside of the corpse hadn't deteriorated. It still looked like it had just had its internal organs removed. But in the place where the internal organs used to be, there were a few red-to-black bubbles.
Yaohua endured her fear and used her Phoenix Fire to take a look.
"Oh my god! They're actually insect eggs!"
Influenced by its master's emotions, the Phoenix Fire suddenly flew back and hid behind Yaohua, trembling.
At this moment, under their gazes, those blood-red eggs were trembling slightly. Suddenly, the mouthparts of an insect broke through the skin of the blood-red egg, and its legs stretched out.
