Chapter 124: Fated to Cross Paths with a Nemesis

"Who's there?" Liu Yuhan frowned warily. A faint light began to gather between his fingers. His gaze was sharp, and though his steps were light, every move was defensive.

"Damn it, he's spotted us," Shu Yue cursed under his breath. Knowing there was no point in hiding anymore, he stepped out voluntarily, shielding Shu Yao behind him. "Don't be tense. It's us."

He brushed back the hair that had fallen over his forehead. His nonchalant gaze was deep as he casually glanced at Liu Yuhan.

Liu Yuhan retracted the shadowy energy he'd been about to attack with. His eyes swept over the two of them. "It's you. What are you doing here?"

"Brother Yu, they're disciples from the Kunshan Sect," Kun Ling, who was standing nearby, answered for Shu Yue before he could. The intimate address made Shu Yue's body jolt.

Shu Yue asked, "Kun Ling, how do you know him?"

"It's a long story. I'll tell you another day," Kun Ling replied. Then she pulled Liu Yuhan aside. Lowering her clear voice and looking around warily, she said, "Brother Yu, it's not safe to stay here. If others see us later, it won't be good. So you'd better go back first. I'll come out to find you when I'm free."

"Alright. Then you must be more careful," Liu Yuhan said calmly. He took a cold glance at Shu Yue. Though his expression seemed calm on the surface, his eyes were as cold as ice, showing obvious caution towards Shu Yue. "Especially, stay away from that man. Don't let him take advantage of you."

For some reason, from the moment he saw Shu Yue, apart from being satisfied with his appearance, Liu Yuhan didn't think much of him.

He couldn't understand why his sister had fallen for such a flirtatious man. That unruly look on his face and his lack of seriousness disgusted him.

Shu Yue felt that look was extremely unfriendly. He frowned his sword-shaped eyebrows and lifted his sharp jawline, showing a haughty curve. He was quite dissatisfied. "Hey, what were you whispering about me to Kun Ling?"

Shu Yue was sure that this man was not only talking about him but also saying bad things.

Liu Yuhan just sneered disdainfully and ignored him. After simply saying goodbye to Kun Ling, he gave Shu Yue a profound look before leaving.

"What an annoying guy. I even saved his life," Shu Yue muttered angrily. He thought that if he'd known this man was so unreasonable, he'd rather have let him die.

"Sir Shu, is this the father you mentioned?" Kun Ling walked over. A look of amazement flashed in her eyes. She immediately recognized that this peerless man was Shu Yao, the father Shu Yue had spoken of.

His skin was as smooth as jade, his appearance was as beautiful as a painting. He carried an air of cold arrogance, pure and spotless like a snow lotus that had been sealed on a snowy mountain for thousands of years. He was so noble that people could only look at him from afar but never touch him.

Even as a woman, Kun Ling envied such an alluring appearance. He was indeed a man more beautiful than most women.

"Yes, he's my father," Shu Yue said proudly, pushing Shu Yao forward. He was very proud to have such a peerless father.

"I'm Kun Ling. Greetings, sir," Kun Ling said, bowing slightly. At that moment when she lowered her eyes, she looked as delicate as a lotus, arousing people's pity.

Shu Yao was stunned for a moment, then returned the greeting. Looking at this beautiful woman and then at the handsome Shu Yue, he suddenly thought they were a good match.

Maybe this woman was the one Shu Yue would end up with.

While they were all silent, the gates of the Kunshan Sect opened, and a man in a Taoist robe appeared in their sight.

But when this Taoist-robed man saw the three of them, a fleeting look of panic and surprise flashed in his eyes.

His surprise was mainly because he couldn't understand why Kun Ling, the daughter of the sect leader Kun Wu, was with Shu Yue.

If the sect leader, who didn't allow Kun Ling to have contact with the outside world, found out, it would surely cause a big problem!

Shu Yue just crossed his arms. His straight figure exuded arrogance from head to toe. The sharp light in his deep eyes was not to be underestimated. Even in his arrogance, his hatred for Li Nao was still obvious.

"Humph, what a coincidence," Shu Yue said. He even regretted agreeing to Shu Yao to return to the Kunshan Sect. Coming back here and facing this stinky Taoist was just asking for trouble!

But for his father's sake, he had to endure it.

Afraid that the two sides might start a fight, Shu Yao pulled on Shu Yue's sleeve and shook his head, signaling him to calm down.

Although Shu Yue was still filled with anger and wanted to take revenge for the thirty lashes and the confinement, for the sake of Shu Yao's safety, he could only pretend to be indifferent for the time being.

"Father, let's go," Shu Yue said coldly, giving Li Nao a disdainful look without saying a word to him. When he passed by Kun Ling, they exchanged a look, and Kun Ling nodded.

As Shu Yue pulled Shu Yao swaggeringly into the Kunshan Sect, looking so arrogant and insolent, Li Nao felt that his dignity had been severely damaged. He stared at them hatefully, trembling with anger.

Kun Ling had always been on guard against Elder Li Nao. So she found an excuse to leave. "Elder, I'll go back first."

"Stop," Li Nao said, taking a step forward to block her when she was about to leave. He stared at her menacingly, his cold eyes seemingly wanting to pierce through her body.

Kun Ling couldn't help but take a step back. She frowned slightly and said timidly, "Elder, is there anything else?"

The fear in her eyes was obvious when she looked at Li Nao.

"Don't be afraid, Ling'er. I just want to tell you to stay away from those two people, especially that Shu Yue. Do you understand?"

Li Nao said it sincerely. His tone and expression were very kind, but they still made Kun Ling feel a chill run down her spine.

"Why should I stay away from them? They're very nice people," Kun Ling said.

"Think about it. If your father knew you were in contact with strangers, how would he react?" Li Nao said with a meaningful smile. He patted Kun Ling's weak shoulder, and she trembled slightly. Seeing the hidden malice in his smile, she flicked her sleeve and turned away.

She stood there alone, thinking about the meaningful words Li Nao had said to her...

When Shu Yue returned to the Kunshan Sect again and saw all the books there, he felt nothing but a headache and a sense of hopelessness.

"Sigh, just thinking about those lectures gives me a headache," Shu Yue said as soon as he entered the room. He leaned back on the couch, lying down on the bed with his legs crossed, shaking them casually.

Seeing his arrogant appearance, Shu Yao could only shake his head helplessly. He slapped Shu Yue's leg down with a 'pop'. "Lie down properly if you want to lie down. This is the Kunshan Sect, not home where you can act recklessly."

"So what about the Kunshan Sect? Do I have to follow their rules? I won't listen to their nonsense," Shu Yue said.

"But you have to attend the lectures at Shenshi today. You can't escape no matter what," Shu Yao said.

Just when Shu Yue was almost in despair, his eyes suddenly lit up. He suddenly turned over and sat up, unexpectedly bringing his handsome face close to Shu Yao. His warm breath brushed against Shu Yao's ear.
