Chapter 123: Heterochromia Iridum

Was it from Seth? Rong Lan's eyes suddenly brightened as she tapped the phone screen twice. It must be the identity information of those scumbags. She didn't expect Seth to be so reliable.

"Ranran, come here. Let's take a look together!"

Bai Rongran: "?" Although she had no idea what it was, she still leaned over and stared at the phone screen with Rong Lan.

After a minute, Bai Rongran knew what it was.

"How did you manage to do this?" Bai Rongran looked at her with a complicated expression.

She had thought it would take at least three or five days to find out the identity information of those scumbags. But it had only been half a day, and Rong Lan even had their specific locations.

This seemingly harmless sister of hers was far more capable than she had thought.

"I have my own tricks! This isn't important!" Rong Lan typed in the location information on the map app. "They're not too far from us. Do you want to go and check it out?"

Hearing this, Chu Hengyuan, who was also looking down at his phone to study the location, lifted his eyes and glanced at his little girl. He was itching to pull her into his arms.

The little girl's fox ears would twitch excitedly. He was afraid that her ears would rub against Bai Rongran, and it would be hard to explain. "Their location is in a bar, a place—suitable for causing trouble."

Bai Rongran took a deep breath and glanced at the Western-style steak knife on the table. "Let's go and take a look. I'll go too."

Rong Lan sized Bai Rongran up and down. "Sure, but I have a small request. Unless I say it's okay to fight, you should just act like a passerby and don't be impulsive."

Even when her little sister was in perfect health, she didn't have the ability to take on multiple opponents. Not to mention now, after a major surgery, she was so weak that she seemed to be floating when she walked. Rong Lan was afraid that Bai Rongran would lose control when she saw those scumbags. She was good at fighting, but she wasn't sure she could save people.

Bai Rongran nodded slowly. "Don't worry. I'll just follow you and won't initiate any fights." After all, she knew that she was so weak that she couldn't even twist open a bottle cap. Even though she hated those guys to the core, she couldn't put herself in danger.

"No, no, no!" Rong Lan waved her hand. "It's not okay to follow me." If the timing was right, she was going to beat up those scumbags.

Bai Rongran looked utterly confused.

Just when Bai Rongran thought Rong Lan found her annoying and didn't want to take her along, Rong Lan continued, "You should follow your brother-in-law!"

Bai Rongran was even more confused. "Why?" Wouldn't it be more dangerous to follow Chu Hengyuan? Could it be...

"I'll go and beat up those scumbags for you first. It'll be too dangerous for you to follow me. There'll be knives and fists flying around. You'll be safer with your brother-in-law." As the little fox spoke, she popped the last piece of chicken from the plate into her mouth.

Chu Hengyuan noticed Bai Rongran's skeptical expression and coughed lightly. He looked at his little girl gently. "Seth is also on his way there."

"Hey? That's great. Seth can also help protect my little sister Ranran." After finishing the last piece of meat, Rong Lan picked up a tissue and wiped her mouth slowly. "Let's go!" With that, she put down the tissue and stood up.

Seeing Rong Lan stand up, Bai Rongran snapped out of her daze and stood up too. Her eyes lingered on the Western-style steak knife for a few seconds, but with Rong Lan standing beside her, she ultimately didn't manage to sneak one away.

On the way from the hotel to the bar, Chu Hengyuan keenly noticed that Bai Rongran's gaze on him carried a bit of contempt. He wondered what Bai Rongran had been imagining.

When they reached the bar, Chu Hengyuan checked the information on his phone. "Lanlan, let's go straight in. Seth is already inside."

Rong Lan looped her arm through her dear little sister's. "Okay."

Bai Rongran took a deep breath. During the journey, besides thinking about how useless Chu Hengyuan was for letting Rong Lan deal with those scumbags, she had been hypnotizing herself and preparing mentally to stay calm and not lose control when she saw those scumbags.

Even though she had been giving herself such hints all the way and knew she wasn't alone this time, she still felt a suffocating discomfort when she stood at the bar entrance.

However, once she entered the bar, she found that the lights were so dim that it was hard to see people's faces clearly. As long as she didn't deliberately pay attention to what the people around her looked like, she wouldn't see the people she didn't want to see.

As soon as Chu Hengyuan entered the bar, he saw the burly man waving enthusiastically to get his attention. He patted the person beside him on the shoulder. "I see Seth. Let's go."

Rong Lan nodded and followed Chu Hengyuan closely with Bai Rongran in tow. "Okay."

The three of them walked past several drunk customers in the booths before reaching Seth.

"Brother!" No matter how many times he saw Chu Hengyuan in a day, Seth couldn't contain his excitement. "Brother, sit down. Sister-in-law, sit down too. I've already spotted those guys'—" exact locations.

Before Seth could finish, Chu Hengyuan coughed lightly and gave him a look, signaling him not to rush to say it.

He guessed that Lanlan had already found out the exact locations of those guys as soon as they entered the bar. He had noticed that her eye pupils had briefly turned heterochromatic when she came in. One pupil was a bright amber - like brown, while the other was a clear blue - green. Since Lanlan already knew where those guys were, there was no need for Bai Rongran to know.

Bai Rongran had some psychological trauma. Knowing the information might make her lose control.

Seth understood what his brother's look meant and immediately covered his mouth. His eyes were wide open, afraid that he might say something wrong out of excitement.

"Seth, could you do me a favor?" Rong Lan pressed Bai Rongran's shoulder gently to make her sit on the chair and then looked at Seth, who was standing across the table, with a big smile.

Seth let go of his mouth and nodded repeatedly. "Sister - in - law, please tell me. I'm very capable. I can do anything!"

Bai Rongran looked at Rong Lan and then at the tall man who was twice Rong Lan's size. The corner of her mouth twitched. Sister - in - law? When did Rong Lan get to know such a person?

Rong Lan said seriously, "I'm going to do something very important with my brother. I'd like to ask you to take care of my sister. My sister is sick and very weak. She can't drink alcohol or eat anything too cold. Could you just take care of her and make sure she doesn't drink or get hurt?"

Seth's and Bai Rongran's eyes met accidentally. The former's eyes were full of curious scrutiny, while the latter looked expressionless, as if she didn't care at all who she was going to be entrusted to.

After a brief scrutiny, Seth patted his chest and promised, "I can do it! Sister - in - law and brother, go ahead and do your thing with peace of mind. I can take good care of the little sister."

Bai Rongran: "..." Little sister? This was a bit too familiar.
