Chapter 175: It Looked Exactly Like a Flash Before Death

"Hey, you promised to tutor me. You've been lying in bed for days! I'm starting to suspect you did this on purpose. You lured me into your trap and then left me hanging."

Rong Lan suddenly opened her eyes.

Bai Rongran, who was sitting by the bed complaining about Rong Lan, was startled. The tablet in her hands flew out uncontrollably.

Then—

Rong Lan, who had just managed to come to her senses, was hit right in the face by the tablet.

Rong Lan: "!!!" What's going on?!

Bai Rongran: "!!!" Reacting quickly, she immediately removed the tablet and carefully felt for Rong Lan's breath. "I didn't hurt you, did I?"

She didn't hurt her, but the impact made Rong Lan feel even dizzier.

She had been feeling groggy to begin with. She had just managed to wake up from a strange nightmare, and this blow almost made her pass out again.

"Why did you wake up so suddenly?" Bai Rongran complained as she got up to pour Rong Lan a glass of water. "Don't patients who have been in a coma for a long time usually open their eyes slowly? You looked so sudden just now. It was exactly like a flash before death."

Listening to this familiar and affectionate complaining, Rong Lan frowned and thought for a long time. Finally, her memory came back, and she remembered that this was her younger sister, Rongran.

But where was she now? Why was she with Bai Rongran?

She stared blankly at Bai Rongran's back for a full half - minute. Then, Rong Lan tentatively lifted the quilt and slowly raised her hand.

When Bai Rongran turned around with the glass of water, she saw Rong Lan waving her hand in front of her own eyes.

She was startled and quickly rushed back to the bedside to grab Rong Lan's hand. "Oh no, did you damage your brain after sleeping for so many days? What are you doing?"

Rong Lan stared at her own hand, so absorbed that she didn't immediately respond to Bai Rongran.

All she could think about was whether these slender human fingers were really hers. Was she in human form or fox form now?

Not getting a response, Bai Rongran got even more panicked. All she could see was Rong Lan staring blankly at her hand, looking dazed, as if possessed.

She put down the glass of water and let go of Rong Lan's hand. "I'll go find a doctor to see what's going on." Rong Lan's silence and unresponsiveness were terrifying. Goosebumps rose on Bai Rongran's arms.

However, just as Bai Rongran turned around and hadn't taken a single step, a pair of slightly cool hands grabbed her wrist.

Bai Rongran: "!!!" In the two seconds she was grabbed, she even imagined that Rong Lan was possessed by an evil spirit and would kill her.

It wasn't until she heard Rong Lan speak that her wild imagination came to an end.

"Rongran..." Since this body had been in a coma for so many days and hadn't had a proper drink of water, her voice was as hoarse as torn silk.

Hearing this familiar tone, Bai Rongran turned around. "Do you still remember who you are?"

Even though Rong Lan had called out her name, she was still worried about Rong Lan's brain.

"I didn't lose my memory. How could I forget who I am?" Rong Lan snorted softly and carefully circulated her spiritual energy to nourish her body.

She was finally back. She didn't know how panicked she was when her mind was still dull and she saw Bai Rongran in front of her.

She was so afraid that she was still in fox form and would accidentally speak and scare her dear younger sister.

Bai Rongran finally let out a sigh of relief. She first bent down to help Rong Lan sit up, then stuffed a glass of warm water into Rong Lan's hand. "As long as you remember. Drink some water." Considering that Rong Lan had just woken up, she was unusually gentle.

Rong Lan took the glass and drank most of the water. She became fully awake, and her throat no longer hurt. She started chattering to Bai Rongran about the nightmare she had.

The nightmare she had should have been all the malice that the former Bai Ronglan had suffered in her previous life. Strangely enough, after she woke up from the nightmare, she clearly felt that the unwillingness and resentment that had been lingering in the original body had disappeared. Her soul seemed to have completely merged with this body.

Did this mean that Bai Ronglan had completely given this body to her? But it shouldn't be, right? She hadn't fulfilled the ghost Bai Ronglan's wish yet.

After listening to Rong Lan's account of the nightmare, Bai Rongran didn't say a word. She simply threw Rong Lan's phone, which she always carried with her, in front of Rong Lan.

Rong Lan looked down at the phone, then looked up at Bai Rongran. She pouted aggrievedly. "Rongran, aren't you going to comfort me at all? I had such a terrifying nightmare. In the dream, no one liked me or loved me. If I hadn't heard you complaining about me luring you into a trap, I don't know when I would have escaped from the dream."

Bai Rongran twitched the corner of her mouth. She leaned over and touched Rong Lan's forehead with her palm. "Strange. You don't have a fever. Why do you seem to have damaged your brain?"

Rong Lan looked shocked and pitifully accused, "Rongran, you don't have to be so loud when you doubt that my brain is damaged. As a patient who just woke up, I can't bear to hear this."

Wasn't she supposed to be a patient who had been in a coma for many days in her younger sister's eyes? How could anyone treat a patient like this?

Bai Rongran was so angry that she laughed. "I'm 90% sure now that your brain is really damaged." How could Rong Lan not understand why she had given her the phone? She must have damaged her brain to not understand.

"Tsk, younger sister Rongran is still so no - fun." Rong Lan shook her head helplessly. She put away her deliberately feigned cuteness and stupidity, picked up the phone, and unlocked it.

Bai Rongran: "..." Sure enough, this person was just teasing her again. Really...

Rong Lan showed a faint smile. If she wasn't afraid of scaring her dear younger sister away, she would even want to touch her head. "Okay, I won't tease you anymore. I'll call your brother - in - law to report that I'm safe." She understood what Bai Rongran meant when she threw the phone at her. Bai Rongran was hinting at her to call her brother so that he could comfort her after the nightmare.

But when she woke up, she looked out of the window. It wasn't very late yet. In theory, her brother hadn't gotten off work. So she had just teased Bai Rongran a bit.

Hearing this, Bai Rongran immediately got up and walked out of the ward without looking back. A woman's intuition told her that if she stayed in the ward and listened to Rong Lan's phone call, she would be fed a mouthful of dog food.

She didn't want to eat dog food at all!

Rong Lan didn't try to stop Bai Rongran. She kindly waited until Bai Rongran went outside and closed the door before dialing her brother's phone number.

The phone rang only a few times before the person on the other end answered.

"Lanlan."

Hearing the gentle voice on the phone, Rong Lan's eyes curved into a smile. "Brother, do you miss me?"

Hearing the little girl's voice, Chu Hengyuan thought that the little fox was bored at home and had secretly used her own phone to call him. He never thought of anything else. "Of course. Lanlan has been away for so many days. You finally decided to call me." He cooperated and coaxed her.
