Chapter 78 A Bouquet of Sunflowers

"It seems that it's really over between you two," Bo Siming said with a mischievous smile, deliberately seizing the opportunity.

Shen Ximan hung her head, and her eyes glazed over for a moment.

"I'd like to be alone for a while."

He got up, put his arm around her shoulder in a domineering way, and asked, "Come on, do you still have feelings for him in your heart?"

"It's over between him and me."

She dodged out of his embrace and rushed into the bedroom, locking the door behind her.

Bo Siming didn't really care. He quickly wrote a check and slipped it into the crack of the door. Then he said to himself, "Get some good rest. If you need anything, just tell the guard. I'll send someone to bring it to you."

There was no response from inside.

Click-click.

The sound of his leather shoes faded away.

Shen Ximan held back her teary eyes and bit her lower lip as tears welled up.

Was this disheveled and miserable self really her?

She couldn't figure out what it was about Bo Jingyu that she liked. Was it just because of his tragic background? Or was it his cold-as-ice personality that attracted her?

Wasn't this just asking for trouble!

She left the hospital without fully recovering and stubbornly went to the village, only to be met with his indifference. Xue Xiaoqi was right. Shen Ximan should have taken action earlier.

At Lanshan Hospital, after finishing his work, Su Minghan came to visit with a bouquet of sunflowers. When he opened the door of the ward, he saw a nurse changing the bedding.

"Where's the patient in this ward?"

The nurse straightened up blankly. "You mean Miss Shen? She checked out early this morning."

His expression suddenly turned solemn.

Shen Ximan's condition couldn't have improved that quickly.

"Where did she go?"

"I heard she got into the car of the eldest young master of the Bo family."

Su Minghan felt a chill in his heart.

He had known that Bo Siming was not a good person. It was obvious that he had some ulterior motives for picking up Shen Ximan so early in the morning.

"Hey, Jingyu, I have something to tell you. Shen..."

He was holding his phone when his words were suddenly interrupted.

"I know," Bo Jingyu said coldly, watching the excavator start working.

"What do you know?"

"Shen Ximan is in Huazhi Village."

Su Minghan's eyes widened. "Did your elder brother pick her up? Let me tell you, that guy..."

"It has nothing to do with me," he interrupted again. "Don't mention anything about that woman to me in the future. I'm not interested."

Beep-beep-beep. The call was hung up.

"I haven't finished my sentence yet! Why did he hang up?" Su Minghan complained unhappily.

Looking at the blooming sunflowers in his hand, he fell into deep thought.

"Good noon, Mr. Su."

"Master Su, your lunch is ready."

When he returned to the villa, all the servants and employees greeted Su Minghan in unison, showing their respect and sincerity.

"Where's Xiao Shujing?"

The butler was taken aback. "Didn't you fire her? She hasn't come out of her bedroom since last night."

He scratched the back of his head impatiently.

"Tsk, call her down for lunch."

His euphemistic tone clearly indicated that he was regretting his decision.

"This..." The butler lowered his head, looking embarrassed and not knowing what to say.

Su Minghan asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"

"Miss Xiao didn't touch any of the food or the water we sent. When we knocked on the door, she said she didn't want to eat."

Su Minghan sighed helplessly. "I'll go and talk to her myself. You ask the servants to prepare the meal first."

"Okay, Master Su."

Dong-dong. He knocked on the door.

"I don't want to eat. Thank you," Xiao Shujing's tired voice came faintly from the room.

"It's me," Su Minghan said calmly.

The body that was curled up in the quilt immediately froze, not knowing how to respond.

"Is the food not to your taste?"

"No," she replied nervously and then slowly sat up.

"Then come out and have lunch with me downstairs," Su Minghan said straightforwardly without any hesitation.

"I really don't want to eat, Mr. Su," Xiao Shujing still resisted.

She was a little afraid of seeing his cold and indifferent eyes.

"I'll only say this one last time. Come out and have lunch with me downstairs. If you keep dawdling, I'll kick the door down," Su Minghan said in a tough tone as if he really would do it.

Xiao Shujing was startled and quickly got out of bed and changed out of her nightgown. "You, you wait. I'll change my clothes!"

"Get it done in two minutes. I'll start counting down."

Two minutes?

She was at a loss and quickly grabbed a few clothes that were closest to her and put them on without hesitation. She could still hear his countdown in her ears.

"One." As soon as Su Minghan finished speaking, the door opened.

Xiao Shujing glared at him out of breath. "That's so immoral."

Looking at her crooked long sleeves and one blue and one yellow sock, he couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"Hahaha."

Oh no, this man was bewitching her heart again.

Xiao Shujing stared blankly at his hearty expression. She placed her palm on half of her forehead, her fingertips running through her hair in a casual and natural way.

"Here, this is for you."

Suddenly, a bouquet of sunflowers appeared in front of her eyes, blooming just right.

Thump, thump.

The heart that had been buried deep inside began to beat again.

"For me?" Xiao Shujing asked knowingly.

"Who else is here besides you?" Su Minghan raised his eyebrows and smiled.

"Thank you..."

The moment she took it from his hand, the gloom in her heart seemed to be completely swept away, and she could hardly contain her excitement.

"Well, that," Su Minghan licked his lower lip and tried to organize his words in his mind. "I didn't really mean it when I said I was firing you."

Xiao Shujing was stunned. "Huh?"

He had never apologized to a girl voluntarily before. Now that he was seriously talking about this matter, he seemed a bit flustered.

"I said those things out of anger that day."

Her cheeks gradually warmed up, and she pursed her lips without responding immediately.

Since the fight with him, Xiao Shujing had been restless. Even when she was just sitting on the bed and lying down, the scene of that night kept replaying in her mind.

"I'll reconsider. As long as you still want to hire me," this time she completely followed her own heart.

Not because of her family's coercion, not because of the pressure from her younger brother, but simply because she wanted to act and do her job well.

But more importantly, she wanted to see this man who she seemed to dislike but actually missed occasionally.

After lunch, Xiao Shujing, in excellent condition, was back.

Even the photographer was surprised.

"Shujing, your performance today is really amazing! The poolside photo shoot requires this kind of youthful vitality. I'm sure you'll be on the cover of this magazine!"

Su Minghan took out a cigarette from the cigarette case. The butler quickly took out a lighter and lit it for him. He took a deep puff and exhaled a cloud of smoke.

"Sure enough, you're amazing, young master. You can easily coax the popular star around with just a few words. I've racked my brains but couldn't even get Miss Xiao to take a step. As soon as you showed up, the problem was solved easily!"

He forced a smile and replied, "It's not that great. You guys worry more than I do."

In the eyes of others, Su Minghan couldn't easily express his feelings. No matter how much he liked or admired someone, he had to restrain himself.
