As night fell, Ji Yunxi slumped into bed in her room, exhausted.
They had rented the entire ship, which had plenty of rooms of various sizes.
She was about to lie down fully clothed after undoing her belt when she heard footsteps approaching the door. Ji Yunxi jumped in surprise and stared warily at the door, her face tense.
Then she suddenly came to her senses. Everyone on this ship was on her side, so there shouldn't be any trouble.
Letting out a sigh of relief, she slowly walked over and opened the door. There stood Feng Xingzhi, looking hesitant, his hand slightly raised as if about to knock.
"Azhi, what's up?"
Feng Xingzhi looked at her, his eyes filled with a complex mix of emotions. He had come quietly to her door just to have a talk with her.
Since he had regained his memories, the two of them hadn't sat down and had a good conversation.
Maybe because she knew him so well, Ji Yunxi immediately guessed that Feng Xingzhi had something to say. Thinking that there were many people living nearby, she took the initiative to say, "Azhi, let's go to the deck and talk."
Feng Xingzhi nodded and followed her out. They walked all the way to the deck.
The sea at night was unpredictable. The deep - blue sea blended with the sky in the distance, and it was impossible to see anything clearly.
It was cold, quiet, and mysterious.
Ji Yunxi breathed in the slightly fishy air and turned to look at Feng Xingzhi.
"I'm sorry, Xixi."
Xixi. It had been a long time since anyone had called her that.
Ji Yunxi concealed the emotions in her eyes, not wanting Feng Xingzhi to notice.
Feng Xingzhi said, "I've made you suffer during this period, although it wasn't my intention."
Ji Yunxi looked at him, and the cracks in her heart seemed to be slowly filled. She sighed and said, "I know. I don't mind. As long as you're back."
But Feng Xingzhi didn't think so. After regaining his memories, he always felt that Ji Yunxi was a bit cold towards him. Maybe she had shed tears when he couldn't remember her that day, but after that, she showed no strong emotions.
No resentment, no hatred, which made Feng Xingzhi even more frightened.
Only when one truly gave up would they show no reaction. He would rather Ji Yunxi blame him, but she just seemed indifferent.
"Xixi, I..."
Ji Yunxi held back her emotions. She wasn't completely unresponsive, but with a great enemy looming, there were some things she couldn't talk about for the time being.
Her eyes reddened slightly, and finally she said, "If you hadn't come back, I would... I would have left you."
With a sob in her voice, Feng Xingzhi felt heart - broken. He knew how much suffering Ji Yunxi had endured, but he hadn't done it on purpose, which made him feel like there was a blockage in his chest.
Feng Xingzhi secretly swore that he would make Jiang Yaoji pay.
Suddenly remembering something, he took out a jade hairpin from his bosom. Thinking of how sad Ji Yunxi had been when he broke the hairpin, he had asked Qing Xuan to secretly retrieve it.
"Xixi, I've used my divine power to repair it. Can you forgive me?"
When Ji Yunxi saw the jade hairpin that she had hidden in the box in his hand, she thought Qing Xuan was a little traitor. She felt a bit helpless but was also happy that Feng Xingzhi had paid attention to such details.
"So you think you can win me over like this..."
She still seemed unhappy on the surface, but her hand reached out to take the hairpin and examined it carefully.
The cracks on it were almost invisible because of the divine power. Feng Xingzhi said softly, "Xixi, there will never be any cracks between us."
Feng Xingzhi knew exactly what was on her mind. One sentence dispelled all of Ji Yunxi's concerns.
He put the hairpin in Ji Yunxi's hair, and the two looked at each other and smiled.
The atmosphere became much softer. Just as Ji Yunxi was about to move, her belt came loose. Both of them were startled, and Feng Xingzhi quickly pulled her into his arms.
Ji Yunxi blushed and stammered, "Who asked you to come to me at this time? I was about to rest..."
Feng Xingzhi chuckled, "Okay, it's all my fault. Blame me. Let me tie it for you."
Saying that, he wrapped his hands around Ji Yunxi's waist, took the belt in his hand, and then tied it for her. His movements were slow, as if he was doing something very delicate.
His hands traced the slender curve of her waist, sending a shiver through her body.
"Okay, okay, I'll do it myself..." Ji Yunxi pressed his hands down. If this continued, something might happen.
Blushing, she turned around. After tidying up her clothes, she turned back. Seeing Feng Xingzhi with a smiling face, Ji Yunxi angrily stomped on his foot and said, "Frivolous!"
Feng Xingzhi didn't mind. He reached out and pulled her back, saying, "Since my wife says I'm frivolous, shouldn't I live up to her words?"
"When did I become your wife? You've made me unhappy. My second brother is here. He won't marry me to you so easily."
Ji Yunxi gave a sly smile but leaned into Feng Xingzhi's arms as if this was the most reassuring place.
The two whispered to each other for a while. As the moonlight grew dimmer and Ji Yunxi became drowsy, Feng Xingzhi led her back to the room. He didn't leave but lay down beside Ji Yunxi fully clothed, gently patting her shoulder with one hand.
He murmured something, but it was hard to hear clearly. Knowing that he was by her side, Ji Yunxi fell asleep peacefully.
This went on for several days, and everyone pretended not to notice their intimate relationship.
The days at sea were long. They had thought they could reach their destination safely, but unfortunately, fate had other plans. The next night, when the ship was sailing smoothly, it suddenly began to shake violently.
Ji Yunxi sat in the room, terrified, barely managing to steady herself. Feng Xingzhi protected her on one side, his eyes full of confusion.
After a while, the helmsman stumbled in, shouting in panic, "It's bad! It's bad! We've encountered a huge storm!"
Everyone rushed to the corridor, their faces full of worry and not knowing what to do.
Yun Hui had lived on the sea for many years. Although he didn't know what was going on, he was sure that this was not an ordinary storm.
"No, this isn't a storm, Yunxi..." He didn't finish his sentence.
Ji Yunxi and Feng Xingzhi understood his implication. They looked at each other and walked out of the cabin to the deck in unison.
Just as Feng Xingzhi was about to use his divine power to check the situation below, the water suddenly started to boil. A huge tentacle climbed up and wrapped around the mast.
The helmsman was shocked when he saw this and quickly pointed at it, shouting, "Hurry! If this goes on, the mast will break! We won't be able to move!"
Ji Yunxi was quick - witted. She quickly drew her sword and cut off the tentacle. Green mucus splashed everywhere instantly.
Yun Han and the others chased after them. They saw that there was still half of the tentacle on the mast, and green mucus was everywhere.
