Chapter 466 No Secrets

Perhaps emboldened by Yue Chen, Jiang Yaoji disappeared for a few days and then swaggered back to be an eyesore. "You've been eating and drinking well? You should think carefully. Maybe there's something you've overlooked."

Ji Yunxi watched Jiang Yaoji's smug face. Her pupils flickered slightly as she replied with a smile, "Not really. It would be even better if you didn't come to annoy me every day."

Jiang Yaoji crossed her arms over her chest, looking at Ji Yunxi with a half - smile. "This is the Moonlight Palace. It's not up to you to tell me where I can go. As for you, instead of knowing your place, you wander around every day. Do you really think this is your home?"

"Do you think I want to be here? Yue Chen said he invited me as a guest. Is this how you treat your guests?" Ji Yunxi turned the tables, deliberately looking annoyed as she glanced at Yue Chen.

In fact, she had noticed something amiss. She had been exhausted every day when she went out for a stroll a few days ago. Even though she hadn't gone out recently, she still felt extremely tired.

Yue Chen let out a low laugh. The sound came from his chest, carrying a sense of nonchalance. "Since I've invited you as a guest, you're free to go wherever you like."

"Your Majesty..." Jiang Yaoji called out to him reluctantly, her face tinged with a hint of complaint. She couldn't understand why Yue Chen always took the side of an outsider.

Yue Chen tilted his face slightly towards Jiang Yaoji. There was a sense of detachment and coldness about him as he remained silent.

Jiang Yaoji let out a cold snort and turned her head away petulantly.

Ji Yunxi stared at Jiang Yaoji's face, trying to discern other emotions. But it seemed that Jiang Yaoji was unaware of the weakening of her body.

Was she just really good at hiding it? Ji Yunxi then shifted her gaze to Yue Chen. He still had a calm expression, but his sharp eyes emitted a faint, cold light, as if he could see through everything. She felt as if he had seen through her and quickly averted her gaze.

"By the way, has Jiang Linyin returned to Lingyun Mountain?" Ji Yunxi asked to cover up her unease.

"He has. Oh, I forgot to tell you. Feng Ji has also woken up," Yue Chen said. His voice was like the gurgling water in a brook, making one feel cool, but upon closer inspection, there was a chill beneath.

Ji Yunxi's pupils dilated slightly. She stared at the ground in disbelief. He really did know about Feng Ji. Yue Chen was incredibly well - informed, even beyond her imagination.

Jiang Yaoji's body stiffened. She immediately looked up at Yue Chen, but Yue Chen completely ignored her. His gaze was only on Ji Yunxi, on and off.

"I heard from the maids that you're very interested in the Moonlight Palace. You've been wandering around these days," Yue Chen said lazily, his deep eyes like a calm pool that made one unconsciously sink into them.

Ji Yunxi was still in a state of shock. When she heard Yue Chen's question, she looked at him and replied, "Yes, so what? Are outsiders not allowed to wander around the Moonlight Palace?"

As Ji Yunxi spoke, her mind raced. Why did Yue Chen ask this? Had he discovered something? No, although she had secretly memorized the layout of the Moonlight Palace, she hadn't done anything out of the ordinary. Maybe Yue Chen was just asking casually. She might as well tell the truth. Being evasive would only arouse suspicion.

Jiang Yaoji watched the two chatting. Her fist in her sleeve tightened. A crazy hatred welled up in her eyes. The anger in her chest was surging like waves. Yue Chen knew so much but had never told her. One day, she would take revenge on Yue Chen.

Ji Yunxi sensed something strange behind her and glanced at Jiang Yaoji. At this moment, Jiang Yaoji had regained her calm expression. When their eyes met, there was a hint of sarcasm on her face.

Although Ji Yunxi saw no abnormality in her expression, she could feel Jiang Yaoji's hatred for her.

"Did you ever get stopped when you tried to enter a palace?" Yue Chen sat lazily on the chair, looking at Ji Yunxi with a cold, emotionless gaze.

Ji Yunxi's pupils constricted slightly. A sharp light flashed by. Her body tensed up slightly as she replied simply, "Yes."

"I've given the order. You can go in. There are some things you used to own there."

Yue Chen's words made Ji Yunxi breathe a sigh of relief. Her body relaxed slightly. She had thought she had gone somewhere she shouldn't have and Yue Chen was going to punish her. She had even prepared to fight Yue Chen.

"My... things?" Ji Yunxi lowered her eyes, looking thoughtful. She repeated the words in a low voice, but she didn't remember leaving anything in the Moonlight Palace.

"She has lost her memory," Jiang Yaoji stepped forward, glancing at Ji Yunxi with a hidden threat in her smile. She knew about that palace. No one in the Moonlight Palace was allowed to enter it. She never thought it held Ji Yunxi's things.

Yue Chen frowned and clicked his tongue, as if annoyed. "Right, you've lost your memory." He paused for a moment and then continued, "Naturally, you've also forgotten the things you once owned."

The corner of Yue Chen's mouth lifted. His gaze on Ji Yunxi seemed to imply something.

Yue Chen's words seemed to have a hidden meaning. Ji Yunxi's look at him became more inquisitive. She remembered that Jiang Yaoji had also mentioned that she had forgotten some things before. Maybe Yue Chen had learned from Jiang Yaoji that she still had some lost memories.

Ji Yunxi carefully chose her words. "Since the past is over, I don't need those old things. I... don't really want to see them." By the end of her sentence, Ji Yunxi lacked confidence. Her mind was filled with chaotic thoughts, and she unconsciously bit her lower lip.

"Do you really not want to see them?" Yue Chen saw her small gesture and spoke slowly. His eyes were extremely deep as he stared at her meaningfully.

Ji Yunxi's mind went blank for a moment. Yue Chen's gaze was like strands of silk winding around her, gradually covering her whole body. Her limbs went stiff, and she couldn't move. Her mind forgot to breathe. All she could see was a white expanse in front of her eyes, like a drowning person. The more she struggled, the tighter the entanglement became.

Something seemed to be about to break through the ground in her heart. Ji Yunxi simply gave up struggling and let herself sink quietly to the bottom. The memories of the past quickly flashed by, scattered fragments passing by like a revolving lantern.

Ji Yunxi concentrated her willpower into a knife and cut through the silk threads around her. Finally, she saw the light again!

"What do you want to do?" Ji Yunxi stared directly into his eyes, her sharp look full of determination.

"It wouldn't be difficult for me to kill you. If I wanted to harm you, you wouldn't have survived until now. Those things might help you remember something. I just want to help you," Yue Chen's gaze was like a sugar figurine luring a child into doing something wrong.

Jiang Yaoji also stared at Ji Yunxi, her eyes full of suspicion, looking unfathomable and hard to figure out.

Ji Yunxi was silent for a moment. She looked up at Yue Chen. "Did you invite me to the Moonlight Palace just so I could see that palace?"
