Chapter 45. Regret?

Shen Nanyi had a great time throughout the class. When the class was over, she saw Mrs. Wang come back, holding a box of Lego in her arms.

The speed at which Mrs. Wang got things done surprised Shen Nanyi. She didn't expect the Lego to be bought so quickly.

"Nanyi, is this the one you like?" The other ladies on the phone had urged Mrs. Wang countless times. She was gradually losing her patience.

"Yes, it is. Auntie, are you going to give it to me? You won't go back on your word, will you?" Shen Nanyi nodded, truly delighted.

She had been looking for this set of Lego for a long time but hadn't been able to find it. Or when she did, the price wasn't satisfactory, so she hadn't been willing to buy it.

"Auntie always keeps her word. If it's a gift for you, it's a gift for you. I definitely won't go back on my word. But can you promise Auntie one thing?" Seeing that Shen Nanyi had taken the bait, Mrs. Wang began to lead her on slowly.

"Auntie really likes that watch in your schoolbag. Can you give it to Auntie?" The more Shen Nanyi kept silent, the more confident Mrs. Wang felt. After all, she was just a child. How smart could she be?

"But that watch is already broken. Auntie, won't you regret trading the toy for it?" Shen Nanyi looked as innocent as can be, with a tone that made it seem as if Mrs. Wang was getting the short end of the stick.

"No, Auntie won't regret it. Let's just settle it like this, okay?" Looking at the watch, Mrs. Wang's mind was all on going to the afternoon tea party.

"Okay then." Shen Nanyi nodded, looking a bit helpless and reluctant.

Anyway, Shen Nanyi had finally agreed. Mrs. Wang finally let out a sigh of relief and turned to walk outside.

"Auntie, if you really like this watch, I can recommend a place to you. It's very cheap." With one foot in the classroom, Shen Nanyi kindly reminded her and then walked into the classroom without looking back.

Mrs. Wang paused for a moment, looking at the things in her hand, not believing what Shen Nanyi had said at all.

She had called her friend to verify before. It was a genuine product.

Although the process had been tortuous, the result was good. Thinking that she could take the watch to be repaired and it would still be very presentable when she wore it out, Mrs. Wang felt much better.

Whistling a tune, Mrs. Wang just wanted to find a high - class watch repair shop as soon as possible and didn't take Shen Nanyi's words to heart at all.

Shen Nanyi touched the phone watch on her wrist and didn't chase after Mrs. Wang. She had already given a friendly reminder. If others didn't believe her, there was nothing she could do.

Shen Nanyi didn't take this matter to heart at all and continued to attend classes happily.

On the other side, Mrs. Wang happily came to a specialty store and took out the watch.

"I accidentally dropped the watch. Could you please repair it for me? Here's the shopping receipt."

It was Mrs. Wang's first time entering a Patek Philippe physical store. Her heart was pounding, but thinking that her watch was a high - end one even in this store, she gained confidence.

"Sure, please wait a moment." The clerk didn't suspect a thing and took the watch box inside to find the repairman.

Sitting on the sofa in the store, sipping the coffee the clerk had poured for her, Mrs. Wang felt extremely comfortable. She thought she had really gotten a great deal.

But Mrs. Wang didn't stay happy for long. The clerk came back with the watch. Different from the previous enthusiasm, the clerk's expression was obviously much colder.

Mrs. Wang was completely confused and had no idea what was going on.
