Chapter 34: A Fight Breaks Out

Yun Que'er gasped softly. She just knew that Ji Chengxuan must have had some tricks up his sleeve. Even if he wasn't paying attention to her, he would surely cause some trouble elsewhere.

Thankfully, Yun Que'er had already instructed everyone to keep to the same story. No matter who asked, they shouldn't answer.

Just then, Yun FuJin turned to look at her, and Yun Que'er whispered in reply.

"It's something our family has always had."

"Really?" Ji Chengxuan weighed the tool in his hand. "But these tools seem quite new to me. And they're better than the ones in our village. How did you get them?"

"I've already said it's something our family has!" Yun Que'er said firmly, but didn't dare to look in Ji Chengxuan's direction.

"Originally, they were the same. We just modified them ourselves, so of course they're better than yours!"

"Oh, I see." Ji Chengxuan nodded. "Then who came up with this method? Is it you, Brother Yun? Teach me. I also want to modify the tools in my family."

Ji Chengxuan put on an innocent look, which made Yun Que'er hate him to the core.

Sure enough, when a kid pretended to be innocent, no one could see through him.

Who would have thought that Ji Chengxuan was actually trying to probe her under the guise of asking for advice?

However, Yun Que'er had no way to explain, so she immediately retorted.

"Of course we learned it from books. If you want to learn, we won't tell you! What if you steal our jobs? Don't take us for fools!"

Yun Que'er knew that she was being unreasonable, but there was no other way to shut him up.

"Xiao Que'er." Yun FuJin gave Yun Que'er a reproachful look. "You can't be so rude."

"Brother..." Yun Que'er gently tugged at Yun FuJin's sleeve, motioning for him to bend down. She whispered into his ear, "Let's be careful. Don't be too showy. If everyone in the village has these things, what will we use to earn work points in the future?"

Yun FuJin smiled helplessly. Well, he would just listen to whatever Yun Que'er said.

Since Yun Que'er had said so, Ji Chengxuan couldn't force the issue. He shrugged indifferently. Anyway, this wasn't the question he really cared about.

After thinking for a while, he casually asked another question.

"Then how did you know how to use them? Did you also learn it from books?"

"Right." Yun Que'er rolled her eyes at him. "Just because you can't read doesn't mean others can't either?"

This little girl had so many fallacies. Ji Chengxuan shook his head and shifted his attention away from Yun Que'er.

Gradually, they were almost done with the land allotted to their family.

Yun JianZhou looked at the time and threw the tools aside.

"I'll go back and cook first. You guys come back early."

Yun Yi turned to glare at his back. "He's being lazy again."

"His foot hurts." Yun FuJin said without looking up. "Let him go back early. If you hadn't had diarrhea last night, he wouldn't have accidentally hurt his foot."

Yun Yi felt a bit embarrassed, but still snorted proudly.

"Who knows..."

Ji Chengxuan also patted the mud off his hands, looked up at Yun FuJin with a smile and said,

"Brother Yun, I'll go home and cook too."

Yun FuJin nodded. He wanted to ask Yun Que'er to see Ji Chengxuan off, but Yun Que'er was playing with a dog's tail grass, looking neither left nor right, and refused to move. So he had to give up.

Hearing the footsteps gradually fade away, Yun Que'er finally let out a sigh of relief. She had finally gotten through this.

But when she looked down, she found a small pebble by her feet with a note under it.

Yun Que'er picked it up curiously. There was a line written on it: How come I remember you haven't been to school and can't read?

Ji Chengxuan!!!

Yun Que'er suddenly turned around. Just then, Ji Chengxuan, who had already walked some distance away, happened to turn back and gave Yun Que'er a meaningful smile.

Yun Que'er angrily tore up the note and scattered it on the soil.

Did he really have to expose her lies?

Forget it. She didn't care anymore!

Yun Que'er simply decided to act recklessly. As long as she didn't admit it and insisted that they had modified the tools by themselves according to the books, what could Ji Chengxuan do to them?

If he dared to say they had stolen the tools, Yun Que'er would tear his mouth apart!

Thankfully, Ji Chengxuan didn't come back, and Yun Que'er finally felt a bit more at ease.

But no sooner had one problem been resolved than another arose. Not long after, Aunt Li from the village rushed over in a hurry.

"Oh my, why are you guys still working? Hurry back and take a look! Your second brother is fighting with Liu Kui's son!"

Yun FuJin's heart skipped a beat. The hoe slipped from his hand and fell to the ground.

How could Yun JianZhou have gotten into a fight with Liu Kui's son in such a short time?

The three siblings didn't have time to think and rushed over in a hurry.

Before they even reached the door, they heard Yun JianZhou's wails.

Yun Que'er was in a hurry. Yun JianZhou was so tall. How could he get beaten up like this in a fight?

Judging from his voice, he must have suffered a great loss!

Yun Que'er took the lead and ran forward. When she reached the door, she found that Yun JianZhou had been pinned to the ground by Liu Yu, Liu Kui's son.

Yun JianZhou was black and blue all over his face, looking like a pig's head. But Yun Que'er didn't find it the least bit funny. She rolled up her sleeves and rushed forward.

"Why are you bullying my second brother?"

She tried to pull Liu Yu away, but found that Liu Yu was as immovable as a mountain.

Sure enough, as the son of a butcher, he must have eaten a lot of meat on weekdays and was fat and strong. Although he was a head shorter than Yun JianZhou, he could completely suppress him.

Yun FuJin also got anxious and quickly chased after them.

"Let's talk things out. Why do you have to resort to violence? Xiao Yu, let him go first!"

"I won't let go!" Liu Yu roared. "What, now that your whole family is back, do you want to gang up on me?"

Yun Que'er was extremely angry. How could there be such a thing in this world?

It was normal for kids to fight, but he couldn't use morality to pressure others just because he was younger!

Now the one being pinned under him was their own family member. Shouldn't they protect Yun JianZhou? Should they protect Liu Yu instead?

"Let him go!" Yun Que'er pushed Liu Yu hard.

Unexpectedly, Liu Yu raised his hand and pushed Yun Que'er aside.

Yun Que'er staggered and almost fell to the ground. Yun FuJin quickly protected Yun Que'er and looked at Liu Yu angrily.

"Are you going to let go or not? If you don't leave, I'll go find the village head!"

"Go ahead and find him!" Liu Yu said fearlessly. "Let's see what the village head will say! Ouch!"

Before he could finish his sentence, Liu Yu let out a shrill scream.

Yun FuJin took a closer look and found that Yun Que'er, who had been standing beside him just now, had somehow rushed up and bitten Liu Yu hard on the thigh.
