"Brother, do you want me to lose my life or my job? This is against the law!"
Qi Mingyang stared at Shen Yu in front of him in shock. This guy spoke so arrogantly and defiantly.
"Can't you just make an exception?" Yi Pin raised his eyebrows and flashed a smile.
Although he didn't know why Shen Yu was so eager to see Officer Liu's file, he always felt it might lead to a breakthrough in the case.
"I'd like to, but... breaking the law as a law - enforcer makes the crime even more serious." Qi Mingyang softened his tone seeing Yi Pin pleading. Privacy in the police department was a matter of principle, so he couldn't act on his own whim.
Seeing Qi Mingyang's embarrassed look, Yi Pin didn't say anything more. After all, this was related to Qi Mingyang's future.
Shen Yu frowned. It seemed he had to investigate on his own.
He had hoped to take a shortcut, but now he realized he had been too naive.
This person was suddenly transferred after handling that case. There must be something unknown about him.
"Do you... know his current address?" Shen Yu asked calmly, showing no sign of embarrassment.
Yi Pin kept staring at the file. The deceased had a good interpersonal relationship during his lifetime. He never had any major conflicts with others and seemed open - minded. So why on earth did he choose to end his life by suicide?
"I don't know, but... I can help you find out. And... I think your case has nothing to do with this. Our police station has always been dedicated to serving the people. There's no way we would engage in any false - making behavior."
Qi Mingyang said seriously.
Although he usually seemed carefree and irresponsible, at critical moments, the dignity of a police officer always shone through.
"Okay!" Shen Yu didn't argue with him. He just nodded silently.
After roughly understanding the situation and the outcome of the matter, the two of them headed back.
"Yi Pin, call me tonight! I'll take you to... you know what."
Just as they were walking out, Qi Mingyang even ran out specifically, smiling at Yi Pin.
Just as Yi Pin was about to reply, Shen Yu interrupted him, "We still need to prepare materials and collect evidence tonight... We're quite busy anyway."

"Not possible!"
These three short words were concise but clearly showed his stance.
Yi Pin's face was full of helplessness. He stomped angrily into his room and slammed the door shut.
It was as if not eating junk food could make one live a much longer life.
Looking at the dejected back, Shen Yu couldn't help but smile. Then he patiently went to the kitchen to prepare food.
"Come and eat!"
Shen Yu knocked on Yi Pin's door and smiled. This kid got angry so easily. He was just too cute.
Although Yi Pin was still a bit annoyed, he knew that nothing was more important than eating. Moreover, Shen Yu's cooking was quite delicious.
He walked out, and the two of them ate in silence, neither of them willing to break the awkward atmosphere.

"Okay! You're always right!" Yi Pin flashed a smile.
Although his words were joking, looking at Shen Yu, who seemed to be shining, Yi Pin felt a strange feeling. He was so serious and upright. Although that incident made him seem like it might all be an act.
"What exactly do you mean? You're so suspicious. First, you suspect the deceased's mother, and now you're suspecting a police officer."
Yi Pin stirred the rice soaked in soup in his bowl. After just a couple of mouthfuls, the bowl was already empty.
Suddenly, he felt he had gained a lot of weight these days. It was all because the food was so good and so to his taste.
"Before we have evidence and can't rule anyone out, of course, we have to investigate everyone." Shen Yu said coldly while eating.
Every time he watched Shen Yu eat, Yi Pin got annoyed. He ate less than a cat and always took small bites slowly. Yi Pin always wanted to pick up the bowl and finish it for him.
"That's true, but... from a moral perspective, even a tiger won't eat its own cubs. I don't believe there are any parents in this world who don't love their children!"
Yi Pin shrugged and said helplessly. Maybe because he had grown up in a complete family, he couldn't understand why there were so many perverts in the world who would harm their own parents or children.

He obediently picked up the bowls to wash them.

Shen Yu just smiled and said nothing.
