"Let's go! It's time to celebrate our victory!" Gu Yang said with a smile curling up on his lips.
Shen Yu raised his eyebrows at Yi Pin and asked with a faint smile, "Wanna go?"
"Sure!" Yi Pin returned the smile. There was a glint of excitement on his face. He glanced at his leg, seemingly unconcerned that it might affect his plan.
The three of them got into the car. Gu Yang took the driver's seat. Since Yi Pin had a leg injury, he sat in the back. Shen Yu naturally sat next to Yi Pin. Seeing them like this, Gu Yang frowned. He had never noticed before that Shen Yu could be so double - standard.
He shook his head helplessly. Looking at the two in the back seat, he felt like a thousand - watt light bulb.
They had just ordered their food and sat down to have a drink when Yi Pin's phone rang.
Looking at the number, he realized that he hadn't been in touch with this person since his internship.
"Onion? Who's that?" Shen Yu leaned over to look at the phone screen and asked, puzzled.
Yi Pin gave him a sidelong glance. "Shut up!" Then he answered the call.
After the call was connected, there was complete silence on the other end. Yi Pin said "Hello" a few times. Just as he was about to hang up, he was suddenly greeted by a flood of howling sobs, like a breached dam.
Lin Yangcong had always been a sensitive, emotional person who cried easily.
At this crucial moment, Yi Pin didn't feel like wasting time consoling him. He just silently listened to Lin Yangcong cry for a long while.
"What... What's going on? Why are you crying?" Yi Pin asked slowly after he heard that Lin Yangcong had calmed down a bit.
The voice on the other end was so mumbled that Yi Pin could hardly understand. Looking at the bowl in front of him, which was filled with the dishes Shen Yu had picked for him, he swallowed hard.
"He's not even gay! He was just playing with me... Do you know? If I hadn't come home early today... I would have never seen him being so lovey - dovey with a girl... I've moved out!" Lin Yangcong managed to choke out between sobs.
Yi Pin roughly understood what had happened. Lin Yangcong's high - school boyfriend had used the guise of being gay to toy with him and even brought a girl back to their rented apartment.
"Pinzi, I have nowhere to go!" Lin Yangcong said, his voice full of despair.
Yi Pin frowned. He was in a tough spot. On one hand, Lin Yangcong was his college roommate of almost four years. On the other hand, he didn't own the house he was living in. He felt sorry for Lin Yangcong, who had just broken up and was homeless.
"Maybe... you can come and stay with me for a few days?" Yi Pin said, stealing a glance at Shen Yu's face, which had an indescribable look of irritation.
After hanging up the phone, Yi Pin looked at Shen Yu guiltily.
"Who was that? You really let just anyone into our home, huh?" Shen Yu pouted. This kid was just too likable and had so many friends. It was really worrying.
"He's my roommate. We've been through a lot together, even if it's not life - and - death stuff..." Yi Pin said nervously, blinking his eyes and looking at Shen Yu coquettishly.
Shen Yu was completely taken in by this move. This sly guy really knew all of Shen Yu's quirks and used them to his advantage.
"Fine, fine. Let him stay!" Shen Yu pouted and continued to pick dishes for Yi Pin.
"Who was crying so loudly on the phone? Did something happen to him?" Gu Yang asked curiously. Lin Yangcong's crying was so loud that even from afar, it was clearly audible.
"Ah... It's a relationship problem!" Yi Pin smiled.
He had thought that the two of them were doing well, but this had happened. Life was really unpredictable.
Gu Yang raised his eyebrows. When it came to relationship problems, he looked at Shen Yu, with a gossipy look on his face.
"Shen Yu, you're not getting any younger. When are you going to find someone to date?" Gu Yang said earnestly.
"That depends on when that special person notices me and likes me back!" Shen Yu said with a smile, glancing at Yi Pin, who was busy stuffing food into his mouth.
"I knew you've been acting weird lately. Have you got a crush on someone?" Gu Yang said with a mischievous smile. Actually, Gu Yang had always suspected that there might be something wrong with Shen Yu's mental health.
Shen Yu just smiled without saying a word, but the twinkle in his eyes gave it away. It was obvious that he had a crush on someone.
"Once you catch that special someone, bring them back for us to meet." Gu Yang said, looking satisfied, as if he had accomplished a great mission.
"Sure. You'll think he's really handsome!" Shen Yu smiled.
"Cool! So you like the mature, sophisticated type!" Gu Yang said, not understanding.
After they were full, they went back home. As soon as they arrived, they saw Lin Yangcong sitting on the ground with a bunch of luggage, looking like a refugee.
"Onion? Why are you sitting here? I told you to wait in the security room!" Yi Pin said with a smile and waved.
"Pinzi, I probably don't look like a good guy!" Lin Yangcong said with a smile. His eyes were still puffy, clearly showing that he had been crying for a long time.
Shen Yu didn't look at Lin Yangcong kindly at all. He always thought that anyone who got close to Yi Pin had ulterior motives.
"Teacher, you live around here too?" Lin Yangcong said with a smile, looking at Shen Yu.
Shen Yu frowned. This guy was going to stay in his home, but he didn't seem to know his place.
"Let's go!" Yi Pin said with a smile and helped Lin Yangcong carry some of his luggage.
Shen Yu was annoyed. He didn't even like to let his own boy do any work, but now Yi Pin was helping someone else carry things.
Helplessly, Shen Yu walked over, picked up the suitcase, and walked ahead on his own.
After hearing about Yi Pin's situation and the fact that he was now living with Shen Yu, Lin Yangcong was shocked and worried.
"Damn it! You used to hate him the most! Just like they say, what you fear most is what comes!" Lin Yangcong said with a smile.
Looking at the pile of luggage, Yi Pin was worried. He wasn't used to sleeping with someone else.
Lin Yangcong was enjoying the food Yi Pin had brought back. He was probably really hungry these days because of his broken - heartedness.
Shen Yu sat on the sofa, sizing up Lin Yangcong. This guy wasn't very good - looking. He didn't seem like much of a threat, but Shen Yu still couldn't let his guard down.
Yi Pin was about to carry Lin Yangcong's luggage and bags into the room when Shen Yu stopped him. "What are you doing? There are so many rooms. Just find him one!"
Shen Yu was angry. He rarely got to sleep with Yi Pin, but this guy might get to do it on his first day here. It was really infuriating.
"Really?" Yi Pin was excited. Finally, he could make both Lin Yangcong and himself comfortable.
