"You heartless pharmacy! Our young lady has been having diarrhea ever since she took your medicine!" A maid was causing a ruckus at the entrance of a pharmacy with a group of servants.
"Miss, are you mistaken? Our pharmacy has never made a mistake."
The shopkeeper looked at the maid with a headache. They had been blocking the entrance for half a day. Because of their commotion, hardly any customers had come to see the doctor or buy medicine today.
"Shopkeeper, our young lady is right here. Look at what your medicine has done to her!" The maid helped a frail young woman over.
The young woman's face was ashen, looking as if a gust of wind could blow her away.
Mu Fengqie had come to check on her property out of boredom today, but she never expected to see a large crowd gathered in front of her shop as soon as she arrived.
"Sir, may I ask what's going on? Why are there so many people here?" She didn't think it was because her shop had good business that so many people had gathered.
The man being questioned saw a veiled woman asking him and scratched his head, saying naively, "I'm not quite sure. But I heard that the doctor in this pharmacy prescribed the wrong medicine, and now the young lady has fallen ill after taking it."
"Thank you, sir, for telling me." After saying that, Mu Fengqie left and went in another direction to inquire further, but the information she got was more or less the same.
"I said, shopkeeper, you can't ignore the lives of us common people just because you have someone backing you up!" The maid continued to be relentless, subtly suggesting to everyone that this pharmacy was heartless and had powerful backers.
Hearing this, the common people gathered here were in an uproar.
"Really? I thought this pharmacy was quite decent." A man whispered to the person next to him.
"I'm not sure either. Let's just wait and see." Since they had just said that this pharmacy had powerful backers, maybe they were some big shots. It was better to say less. They didn't want to get into trouble.
"You're right." He decided to wait and see.
"Shopkeeper Wang, what's going on?" Mu Fengqie pushed through the crowd and walked up to Shopkeeper Wang.
When she left back then, she didn't have time to take care of this pharmacy, so it closed. After returning to the Pharmacist Valley, she found some older outer disciples to help out.
"Oh, boss, you're finally here. This young lady insists that our pharmacy gave her the wrong medicine, which made her stomach upset." Shopkeeper Wang saw Mu Fengqie as if he had seen a savior. And indeed, Mu Fengqie was his savior.
"Really? Although my pharmacy has only been open in this capital city for a few years, this kind of thing has never happened before." Mu Fengqie said as she glanced at the young lady being supported.
"I wonder what illness this young lady has and what medicine she bought from my pharmacy. May I have a look at the prescription?" Mu Fengqie walked up to the young lady. Looking at her weak appearance, she was indeed weakened by diarrhea and severely dehydrated.
"Are you the boss of this pharmacy?"
She looked young and was a woman. She didn't seem that capable. The maid looked at Mu Fengqie with disdain.
"Yes. This young lady may not know me well. I built this shop from scratch. I even used to see patients here." After Mu Fengqie said this, many people around remembered. Looking at Mu Fengqie's appearance, she did look the same as the doctor back then.
Hearing the people around start to discuss, saying that she was a divine doctor and so on, the maid became even more unconvinced. "You all shut up! A person like her is a divine doctor? I think she's more like a quack. What medical skills does she have?"
"I don't need you to judge whether I'm a divine doctor or a quack. You said that your young lady had problems after buying medicine from my pharmacy. Then I'd like to know what medicine you bought from my pharmacy, who gave it to you, and when you bought it!" As Mu Fengqie exuded the aura of a superior, the maid started to stutter.
"Our young lady just had a common cold... The person who gave the medicine... It was that person." The maid pointed at the shop assistant standing at the shop entrance with the shopkeeper.
"Boss, I did see this young lady. I gave her the medicine the day before yesterday." The shop assistant immediately stepped forward to explain to Mu Fengqie.
"The medicine was bought the day before yesterday, but you only came here two days later? Shouldn't you have come here as soon as something went wrong?" Mu Fengqie looked at them sharply.
"Our young lady only took the medicine yesterday." The maid defended.
"What medicine did you buy?" Mu Fengqie looked at the maid in front of her with a deep gaze.
The maid named the medicines. Mu Fengqie frowned. There was nothing wrong with the names of the medicines she mentioned, but...
"Are you sure your young lady's medicine was bought from my pharmacy?" Mu Fengqie looked at them suspiciously.
"We bought it from your pharmacy. Are you trying to deny it?" The maid looked at Mu Fengqie arrogantly.
"But I remember that some of the medicines in our pharmacy have been out of stock for seven days and still haven't been restocked. How did you manage to get all the medicines from our pharmacy?" The medicines in her pharmacy were all transported from the Pharmacist Valley. Because of the long distance, it was common for the supply to run out.
After Mu Fengqie said this, the shop assistant suddenly remembered that he indeed hadn't been able to get all the medicines that day. He immediately spoke up to explain.
The people around also noticed the problem. They had only come to this pharmacy to see the doctor in the past few days. Since the shopkeeper said that some medicines were out of stock, they hadn't bought any medicine here.
"I said, did you buy the wrong medicine from another pharmacy?" One of the common people couldn't help but speak up for Mu Fengqie's pharmacy.
They had been buying medicine from this pharmacy for several years and had never encountered any problems. Moreover, this was a decent pharmacy, not a heartless one.
"How is that possible? The pharmacy we went to is the largest one in the capital city. How could they give us the wrong medicine!" The young maid looked unconvinced.
"Who knows?"
"Their pharmacy has been a time - honored brand for a hundred years. How could they do something to ruin their own reputation? On the contrary, your shop..."
