Chapter 286: The Royal Son-in-law-to-be

Tang Ziyan didn't even lift his eyelids. "I didn't expect Young Master Qingfeng to be so concerned about my affairs?"

"Who's concerned about you?" Qingfeng retorted with a bad temper. "I told you to let go of Zhizhu. You're not worthy of touching her!"

As he spoke, Qingfeng was about to step forward to snatch Zhizhu away.

Seeing this, Su Mingyu took a quick step forward and blocked between them. In a deep voice, she said, "Qingfeng, you need to understand that this is the Prince Ruixian's Mansion. Do you want to make a move on my people here?"

Rebuked by Su Mingyu, Qingfeng reluctantly withdrew his hand, but his face was still as pale as paper.

Seeing that he stopped talking, Su Mingyu turned back and gave Tang Ziyan a look. "You go back first."

Tang Ziyan nodded, carried Zhizhu, and disappeared in the direction of the mansion's main gate.

After the person was out of sight, Su Mingyu frowned and looked at Qingfeng. "What on earth do you want?"

"Tang Ziyan is a suspicious character!" Qingfeng looked at Su Mingyu, his tone a bit excited. "He's a young man from Nanyuan. Anyone can take him away with money. Princess, you can't let such a man stay around Zhizhu."

Su Mingyu looked up at him and said word by word, "Qingfeng, I've told you before. Don't come looking for Zhizhu anymore. You can't torture her like this."

"I didn't!" Qingfeng almost roared without thinking. "I've investigated Tang Ziyan's background. I'm really worried about Zhizhu."

Su Mingyu didn't even lift her eyelids. "I know. Tang Ziyan is the person I brought back. If you can find out about him, how could I not?"

After saying that, Su Mingyu turned around and walked away. But before she took a few steps, she was called back by Qingfeng. "Princess! Tang Ziyan really has problems."

Su Mingyu didn't even turn her head. "Go back."

Qingfeng was so anxious that his face turned sallow. He wanted to say something, but Su Mingyu had already disappeared at the door. He tightened his palm and finally sighed silently before leaving the Prince Ruixian's Mansion.

Finally getting rid of Qingfeng, when Su Mingyu returned to the main hall of the mansion, she saw Tang Ziyan already waiting for her.

Su Mingyu stepped forward. "Waiting for me?"

"Yeah." Tang Ziyan poured a cup of tea for Su Mingyu and handed it to her. "Is Qingfeng gone?"

Su Mingyu nodded. "Qingfeng was a bit over the line today, but he was angry. Don't take it to heart."

"Of course I know that. I won't be angry with him. I understand his feelings for Zhizhu." Tang Ziyan gave Su Mingyu a faint smile. "Princess, you don't think I'm such a petty person, do you?"

"Of course not." Su Mingyu raised her eyebrows. "But after all, Qingfeng is my man. He said such offensive things to you. Naturally, I should apologize to you."

"Does that mean the princess is treating me as an outsider?" Tang Ziyan looked at Su Mingyu with a smile. There wasn't much anger in his words.

Su Mingyu grinned at him. "Mr. Tang should understand that's not what I mean. Anyway, you've been wronged today."

Tang Ziyan hooked his lips into a smile. "What do I have to feel wronged about? Qingfeng is right. I'm just a young man who takes money and does things for others."

"I just like your free and easy personality." Su Mingyu also handed a cup of water to Tang Ziyan. "I'll have to trouble you a lot in the next few days."

Tang Ziyan took the cup Su Mingyu handed over.

Whether intentionally or not, his hand accidentally touched hers. Although Su Mingyu quickly withdrew her hand, it was still inevitably touched by him.

However, when Su Mingyu glanced at him from the corner of her eye and found that Tang Ziyan's expression remained unchanged, she thought she was just being paranoid.

"Then I'll leave Zhizhu in your care. I'll go and see Gu Ruobai." After saying that, Su Mingyu got up and left the main hall, not noticing the darkness in Tang Ziyan's eyes behind her.

Since Gu Ruobai had no court affairs and few friends, he basically stayed in the mansion. So as soon as Su Mingyu arrived at the tea garden, she saw him.

"Back?"

When Gu Ruobai saw Su Mingyu coming back, he put down the book in his hand. "I heard Qingfeng came and then was driven away by you?"

Su Mingyu pouted. "Your news is really well - informed."

As she spoke, Su Mingyu let out a long breath and plopped down beside Gu Ruobai. "This Qingfeng... You say he's clueless, but he knows how to be jealous. You say he's got a clue, but he always talks about loyalty."

Gu Ruobai raised his eyebrows and looked at Su Mingyu. "You've really worried yourself sick about your maid."

Su Mingyu grinned. "There's nothing I can do. She's my only maid."

"By the way, have you found any clues about that spy you were investigating before?" Su Mingyu sat beside Gu Ruobai and raised her eyebrows at him.

"Not yet." Gu Ruobai's answer was brief. "I've checked everyone around me who could have access to military orders, but there's been no result."

Su Mingyu looked at him. "Then maybe we should think about it in a different way."

"What way?" Gu Ruobai looked at Su Mingyu suspiciously.

"Think about it. Someone who can access military orders and is recognized by you, maybe an unimportant person passed on the orders you gave to someone else. And the person who received the news would know your intentions just by seeing the order."

Hearing what Su Mingyu said, Gu Ruobai squinted his eyes. "You mean there's someone who knows me well enough and is planning everything behind the scenes?"

Su Mingyu nodded. "What if there's such a possibility?"

Gu Ruobai frowned and thought for a while. "In that case, it'll be hard to find this person?"

Su Mingyu shrugged. "Let's investigate slowly. I always feel this person is about to show his true colors."

They had thought Wu Yurou would be quiet in the mansion for a while, but unexpectedly, she held a grand banquet.

When Su Mingyu received the invitation from the First Floor, she thought she was seeing things.

Gu Ruobai had something to do and had gone to the arsenal. Su Mingyu was thinking about going alone. Just then, Tang Ziyan walked in from outside. "Princess? What's that in your hand?"

Su Mingyu pursed her lips and handed the invitation to Tang Ziyan. "The princess is inviting us to the restaurant for a meal. She says it's for choosing a husband."

"Choosing a husband?" Tang Ziyan glanced at the invitation. "Why would she invite you, Princess?"

Su Mingyu raised her eyebrows. "She didn't invite me. But I still want to go and have a look."

As she spoke, Su Mingyu turned around to leave, but was stopped by Tang Ziyan. "Since it's for choosing a husband, I'll go and have a look too. What if the princess takes a fancy to me? Then I'll be the royal son - in - law!"

Seeing the teasing in his eyes, Su Mingyu knew he was just worried about her. So she thought for a while and nodded. "Alright. Let's go."
