Chapter 302 Then Let Me Go

To be able to build such a mansion on the outskirts of the capital, this person must have a remarkable background.

Gu Ruobai also casually glanced outside. He squeezed Su Mingyu's hand and whispered, "The surrounding mountains are full of traps. It seems that the person living here knows very well how to protect themselves. Maybe half of my secret guards won't be able to get in."

"So amazing?" Su Mingyu widened her eyes. She clearly remembered that Gu Ruobai's secret guards were all top - notch. Even the slightest thing that happened to her would be immediately reported to Gu Ruobai by his secret guards.

But here, Gu Ruobai actually said that half of his secret guards couldn't get in.

Su Mingyu couldn't help but feel a bit curious. Who on earth could live in such a place and design such excellent traps?

Gu Ruobai pretended to be a guard escorting Su Mingyu and followed Mei Qing into the villa.

The exterior was resplendent, and the interior was equally dazzling. Just from the main hall, one could tell that this person was extremely wealthy.

Mei Qing said something to a little maid beside her. The maid nodded and was just about to head towards the back yard when a tall figure walked up.

The man was wearing a half - mask. The exposed eye was like the warm snow that hadn't melted in spring, soft and glistening. His lips curved slightly, and his eyes were half - closed, looking as comfortable and relaxing as the sunshine in March.

Su Mingyu had expected a ruthless character, but unexpectedly, he was such a gentle person.

For a moment, Su Mingyu felt that her toughness seemed useless.

When Mei Qing saw the man, she immediately knelt on one knee. "Greetings, my lord. I've brought the person you wanted."

The man didn't rush to look at Su Mingyu. Instead, he looked at Mei Qing. "You're injured?"

Mei Qing nodded. "On the way of escorting Su Mingyu here, we encountered some people looking for her, but we've already silenced them."

Hearing this, the man nodded. "Since you've brought the person, you may step down first."

Mei Qing responded with a grunt and obediently retreated.

Seeing Mei Qing leave just like that, Su Mingyu let out a scoff and looked at the man. "People like you who only wear half a mask must have some disfigurement on the other half of your face."

Seemingly not expecting Su Mingyu to hit right on his sore spot, the man was taken aback for a moment, then let out a hearty laugh. "I didn't expect the princess to have such a sharp tongue."

Su Mingyu shrugged. "If you untie my hands, you'll see how ruthless I can be with them."

The man didn't waste any words. He simply gave a look to the disguised Gu Ruobai, signaling him to release Su Mingyu.

Gu Ruobai immediately untied the ropes on Su Mingyu's hands.

"Have a seat," the man said, pointing to the wooden chair in front of Su Mingyu.

Su Mingyu glanced at the wooden chair, then raised her eyebrows. She tapped the back of the chair, and it collapsed with a thud, sending dust flying everywhere.

The man looked at Su Mingyu in surprise, hardly believing it. "How did you know there was a trap behind this chair?"

Su Mingyu curled her lips. "Didn't I say I'd show you my skills? How about it? Not bad, right?"

The man narrowed his eyes, and a glint of interest flashed across his gentle face. "You're really as capable as they said."

"Them?" Su Mingyu looked at him. "If I can find all the traps in this room, will you take off your mask so I can see who you are? I've been around in the capital for so long, yet I've stumbled on you, someone I've never met before. I want to know why I was captured."

"Sure," the man spread his hands, indicating that Su Mingyu could look around as she pleased.

Su Mingyu wasn't polite. She tapped here and tinkered there. In no time, she had almost dismantled the entire main hall.

The man watched Su Mingyu with great interest, his eyes filled with smiles. "I really didn't expect you to find so many traps."

Su Mingyu wiped the fine sweat off her forehead. "Now can you tell me who you are?"

The man gently lifted the corner of his mouth. "Are you sure you've found all the traps in the room?"

Su Mingyu nodded. "Except for the one on you and the ring on your hand, I should have found all the others."

Until Su Mingyu mentioned the ring on his hand, the man had been watching her as if it were a show. But when she mentioned the ring, a look of surprise and admiration truly flashed across his eyes.

"How did you know there was something wrong with my ring?" He looked at Su Mingyu, curious about how this woman managed to find all the traps in his main courtyard.

Su Mingyu shrugged. "You haven't fulfilled your promise to me. Why should I answer you?"

"Do you know that you're my captive now?" The man looked at Su Mingyu's proud demeanor, and his admiration grew even stronger.

Su Mingyu remained indifferent. "So what? You went to so much trouble to capture me. You surely didn't just want to watch me die in front of you. You must want to use me for something. Since it's a matter of using each other, why should I listen to you? Maybe one day you'll even have to beg me."

"How daring!" The maid behind the man glared at Su Mingyu. "How dare you be so presumptuous in front of our Young Master Kang!"

Before Kang Zeyan could say anything, Su Mingyu let out a long "oh". "So your surname is Kang?"

Kang Zeyan nodded without hiding. "Kang Zeyan."

Su Mingyu raised her head. "Young Master Kang, you can take off your mask now."

Seeing Su Mingyu being so persistent, Kang Zeyan raised his eyebrows and gave a look to the maid beside him. The maid understood and led all the people in the main hall out.

This, of course, included Gu Ruobai. Su Mingyu could clearly feel Gu Ruobai's worried gaze, but with Kang Zeyan in front of her, she couldn't turn back. She could only stare at Kang Zeyan bravely. "Okay, everyone's gone. You can take it off now."

Kang Zeyan slowly raised his hand and gently removed the mask on his face. Under the mask was a perfectly handsome face.

It was a face as delicate as a spring flower, with eyebrows as black as ink and a face like a peach petal.

Su Mingyu originally thought that Tang Ziyan was good - looking, but unexpectedly, this man was even better - looking. Su Mingyu blinked at him. "I don't remember ever offending someone like you."

"Don't try to probe me," Kang Zeyan put the mask back on. "You should have guessed by now. I captured you because of Gu Ruobai, not because of you, Su Mingyu."

Hearing this, Su Mingyu raised her eyebrows. "If that's the case, then let me go."
