The yacht arrived near noon that day. It was an island, magnificent in scale. There was a castle manor on it, very much like the spire - topped castles built by former manor lords.
Lin Wan was stunned. She stared wide - eyed at the castle on the island. No matter how vivid her imagination was, she could never have imagined that Lu Zhihang would bring her to such a place.
“Don't just stand there daydreaming, baby. Get off the boat. We've reached our destination,” Lu Zhihang said with a smile as he gently pinched Lin Wan's cheek.
Lin Wan came back to her senses and looked at Lu Zhihang in shock. “This, this, this...”
She couldn't get her words out properly for a moment and could only stare at Lu Zhihang in surprise, repeating the same word.
Lu Zhihang was amused. He gently tapped the bridge of Lin Wan's nose and said with a smile, “Don't worry. This island belongs to our family. My grandfather used to live here. It was built by my grandfather's father. Since my grandfather returned to the mainland, it has been rented out to others.”
Lin Wan always thought she had a certain understanding of the Lu family's wealth, but seeing the island in front of her now, she realized how naive she was. The assets of this family seemed far more terrifying than she had imagined.
Lu Zhihang carried the still - shocked Lin Wan off the yacht and waved goodbye to the two people on the boat.
It was not until she saw the two people drive the yacht away again that Lin Wan asked belatedly, “How are we going back?”
“They'll come back to pick us up in three months. And at regular intervals, someone will come to replenish our supplies,” Lu Zhihang explained with a smile. Then he led Lin Wan towards the other side of the castle.
Lin Wan was taken aback. “Not going there?” She pointed in the direction of the castle.
Lu Zhihang pondered for a moment and then said with a smile, “Do you want to live there, Wanwan?”
Lin Wan fell silent. She wasn't sure what he meant, so she didn't say a word.
Lu Zhihang didn't really need an answer. He said with a smile, “It's too big over there. It hasn't been lived in for a long time and lacks the warmth of human habitation. We'll go to the other side. There's a small villa there. We'll live there from now on. After we settle in, I can take you there for a visit.”
Hearing this, Lin Wan breathed a sigh of relief. She really wouldn't have been comfortable living in such a place.
The villa wasn't far from the castle. Its appearance was very simple, exactly the style Lin Wan liked. There were two hammocks tied under the coconut trees at the door. Next to the hammocks was a small table with some beautiful, unnamed flowers on it.
“Do you like it?” Lu Zhihang whispered in Lin Wan's ear. His breath tickled her earlobe, making the tip of her ear turn slightly red.
“I like it,” Lin Wan said, turning her head slightly with a blushing face.
Lu Zhihang smiled and led Lin Wan into the villa.
The villa's hall was spacious with a huge French window. Outside the window was a golden sandy beach and the gently rippling sea. There were three rooms on the upper floor accessible by a spiral staircase. Each room had a small balcony with a small table and chairs. The sunlight reflected off the glass tabletop, emitting a white light.
“Wife!” Lu Zhihang called out in the hall.
Lin Wan poked her head out from the spiral staircase. “What's up?”
Lu Zhihang leaned over and waved at her, smiling. “Come here, come here.”
Lin Wan hesitated for a moment and then came downstairs. Lu Zhihang took her directly to a small room next to the hall. There were two sets of diving equipment in it.
The moment Lin Wan saw these things, her eyes lit up.
She quickly walked over to check them out. Lu Zhihang leaned against the door frame, looking at her with a beaming smile. “So, do you love me a little more now?”
Lin Wan looked at Lu Zhihang with a smile, taking her eyes off the equipment. She remained silent, put down the things, and walked over. Lu Zhihang felt a bit nervous under her gaze. He put down his hand and stood up straight. Just as he was about to take a step back, Lin Wan grabbed his collar and pulled him towards her.
Their breaths mingled. Lin Wan closed her eyes, and her eyelashes fluttered gently, casting fragmented shadows in the sunlight from outside the window.
Lu Zhihang could clearly see every single one of Lin Wan's eyelashes. Their lips and teeth intertwined, and their breathing gradually became heavier. The next moment, Lu Zhihang picked Lin Wan up without hesitation and carried her upstairs.
Lin Wan blushed and buried her face in Lu Zhihang's chest, saying nothing.
“Do you love me?” Lu Zhihang whispered in her ear, his voice heavy with panting.
Lin Wan tilted her head slightly. Lu Zhihang's breath made her feel a bit dizzy. In a daze, she wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled faintly. “I love you.”
Her voice was like a feather brushing against Lu Zhihang's heart, making him even more infatuated.
...
Lin Wan turned over. The space beside her was already empty. She was slightly taken aback. Propping herself up, she saw half of Lu Zhihang's figure on the balcony. He was facing sideways, a smile on his lips, and there was a... lollipop between his fingertips.
Lin Wan said, “... Lu Zhihang.”
Lu Zhihang suddenly came to his senses. He turned his head and met Lin Wan's gaze. He smiled, stood up, and walked over. “Are you awake? Do you feel uncomfortable? Are you hungry?”
Lin Wan groaned in bed. Since she didn't feel as uncomfortable as the first time, she shook her head and said, “I want to eat barbecue.”
Lu Zhihang lowered his head and kissed her eyes. He stroked her face and said with a smile, “I'll go prepare the ingredients. How about we go to the beach, fish, and have barbecue at the same time?”
Lin Wan was always enthusiastic about such activities. Her eyes lit up, and she nodded and murmured an “okay”.
“Can you get up then? Do you need my help?” Lu Zhihang nodded, a hint of mischief flashing in his eyes as he whispered.
Lin Wan blushed, glared at him, and pushed Lu Zhihang away. “Hurry up and prepare the food. I'm so hungry!”
Lu Zhihang laughed. He gave Lin Wan a kiss on the forehead and then walked out of the room.
Lin Wan lay in bed for a while. Thinking of Lu Zhihang who seemed to be glowing in the sunlight just now, she curved her lips slightly. Then she rolled over and got up, walking into the bathroom.
Soon, the two of them came to the beach with their things.
Lu Zhihang settled Lin Wan in a chair, set up the equipment, cast the fishing line, and then sat down beside Lin Wan. He took out some snacks.
“Have some of these to fill your stomach first. Tell me what you want to eat, and I'll grill it for you.”
Lin Wan took the snacks and took a bite. She looked at the ingredients and pointed at the chicken wings. “I want meat.”
Lu Zhihang smiled and started grilling the chicken wings for her.
The white smoke from the barbecue rose slowly. Lin Wan looked at the sea and suddenly had the feeling that only the two of them were left in the world. It was peaceful, comfortable, and heart - warming.
I don't know how much time had passed. Finally, there was a movement on the fishing line Lu Zhihang had cast. Amid Lin Wan's shouts, he reeled in the line with a half - amused, half - helpless look on his face. To his surprise, it was a palm - sized fish.
Lu Zhihang put the fish into the bucket beside him.
Lin Wan came over to take a look for a while and said, “I don't want to eat it anymore.”
Lu Zhihang was taken aback. Before he could say anything, Lin Wan said, “I want to keep it as a pet.”
He was slightly stunned and then couldn't help but laugh. But he still found a glass tank, filled it with water, and made a temporary home for the little fish.
