Chapter 4: Sun Wukong Takes Me on a Cloud Ride

Inside the Great Thunderclap Monastery, the Buddha calculated with his fingers and suddenly opened his eyes.

"Guanyin, where are the master and his disciples? I can't divine their whereabouts." The Journey to the West could promote the Buddhist Dharma and bring boundless merits. There couldn't be any mistakes.

After the immeasurable kalpas, the Buddhist Dharma was destined to flourish. Their plan was supposed to be foolproof.

This was the first time he couldn't figure out their whereabouts.

"I suppose they're about to encounter the White Bone Demon. I'll send someone to check and report back," Guanyin replied. She also found it strange. She had tried to divine their whereabouts before but got no results. Everything was in a state of chaos.

The journey to fetch the scriptures was of utmost importance. With such a variable, they had to take it seriously.

But she had other things to attend to these two days. Otherwise, she would have gone there in person.

---

After a satisfying meal, the sun was already slanting westward. Looking at the vast mountains outside, Zhu Bajie stroked his belly and refused to move on.

"Master, these mountains are so vast. I asked a few little demons in this cave. They said there are no farmers ahead. We might have to sleep out in the open tonight," Zhu Bajie said with a big belly as he walked up to Tang Seng with a smile. "Master, how about we stay in this cave tonight and set off tomorrow?"

Yang Xue, who was pouring tea for them, suddenly trembled, spilling the tea on Sun Wukong's hand.

"Sorry!" Yang Xue said with an embarrassed smile, trying to hide her uneasiness.

Why aren't they leaving? She was already planning to see them off.

If these great gods were to stay here overnight, would she still be alive?

You know, the Journey to the West of these people was closely monitored by the celestial gods. It was a minor thing if they didn't complete this trial, but if they didn't get rid of her as well, that would be another matter.

In short, according to the plans of the big shots in the sky, she, as the White Bone Demon, was doomed to be eliminated.

After all, the White Bone Demon had quite a few dark deeds.

"What, you don't want us to stay?" Sun Wukong observed her expression carefully. "Why are you so nervous?"

He still didn't believe that this White Bone Demon would be so simple as to entertain them.

"Really?" Yang Xue forced a calm smile. "I'm a demon after all. It's not appropriate for me to take you in."

"Miss Bai is being so polite. We all know you're a kind demon. I've never seen a demon with such good cooking skills," Zhu Bajie said with a laugh. He added somewhat sheepishly, "I haven't had such delicious food for a long time. I'd like to have another meal."

"Bajie," Tang Seng stood up and apologized to Yang Xue. "My disciple is just a glutton. Miss Bai, don't take it to heart. We've already bothered you a lot. How can we stay for the night? Sleeping in the wind and eating in the open is normal for us. We'll walk a bit further."

He turned to look at Sun Wukong and saw the same suspicion in his eyes.

"Miss Bai admires Big Brother Monkey so much. He hasn't even given you his autograph. Wouldn't you be happy if we stayed?" Zhu Bajie said cheerfully as he got closer. "I used to be Marshal Tianpeng. I can give you my autograph too."

Yang Xue saw the reactions of the master and his disciples. They were clearly trying to test her.

It's easier to invite gods than to send them away. The saying is really true.

"Yes, yes, I almost forgot. It's getting late. These mountains are steep and tall. By the time you cross them, it'll be dark. Reverend, you might as well stay here for the night. I have some questions about the Buddhist Dharma I'd like to ask you."

Hearing her words, Zhu Bajie was overjoyed. "Then we'll bother you. I haven't had a good sleep for a long time."

"Bajie..." Tang Seng said helplessly. "It's still early. Don't be lazy."

"Master, Miss Bai has been so enthusiastic in entertaining us today. Master should answer her questions as a way of thanking her," Zhu Bajie said happily, lying on the wooden chair and reluctant to get up.

Sun Wukong mercilessly exposed him. "You're quite good at finding excuses, you glutton. You just want to eat."

The cooking of this demon was really good. He hadn't had such delicious food for hundreds of years.

"Master is just a mortal. His legs aren't good. He should take a rest," Zhu Bajie said angrily after being exposed. He turned his head and snorted. "You don't understand Master at all."

Looking at his swollen ankle, Tang Seng didn't insist anymore and agreed to stay for the night.

But it was neither too early nor too late. They still had to have dinner.

Through this meal, Yang Xue discovered a problem. From now on, she would have to eat like a normal mortal.

The eating habits of the White Bone Demon made Yang Xue's hair stand on end. She either had to drink fresh blood from time to time or absorb essence to cultivate and nourish her body!

Although she had become the White Bone Demon, her heart was still that of a mortal.

If she wanted to cook, she had to buy ingredients and seasonings. Although she didn't know if she would stay here forever.

The Squirrel Demon and the Rabbit Demon had done their best, and the food supplies were running out.

She told the Cat Demon to clean up a cave chamber to accommodate the master and his disciples.

Only then did Yang Xue prepare to go to the market at the foot of the mountain.

She turned around and saw Sun Wukong with his arms crossed, looking at her warily.

"Great Sage, do you have any other instructions?" Yang Xue looked into his big black eyes and felt a shy feeling of not daring to look directly at him.

"Where are you going?" Sun Wukong didn't intend to let down his guard and trust her completely. "There are indeed kind demons in the world, but we won't meet them on the Journey to the West. Those people aren't so understanding."

He was referring to those who forced them to go to the Western Heaven to fetch the scriptures.

Yang Xue naturally understood, but she was a bit surprised.

It seemed that Sun Wukong wasn't very willing to go on the Journey to the West. He didn't seem to like those people as much as it was shown in the TV series.

"I don't have enough ingredients for dinner. I have to go to the foot of the mountain to have a look and get some fresh air," Yang Xue answered honestly. "If the Great Sage doesn't trust me, you can go with me."

Sun Wukong thought for a moment. The few little demons left in the cave were no match for anything. He felt more at ease following the White Bone Demon.

Outside the cave, Yang Xue looked up. According to the Cat Demon, the market was in the northeast direction.

"Great Sage, I heard your cloud-riding skills are top-notch. How about you take me?" She looked at his tall, straight, and broad back and couldn't help but feel a sense of security.

Sun Wukong turned to glance at her, cold and disdainful. "Let's go."

Standing on the cloud, Yang Xue felt dizzy and couldn't help but grab Sun Wukong's waist.

Sun Wukong turned to glare at her irritably but didn't push her away.

Yang Xue's eyes lit up. What strong and firm muscles.

Looking at his broad and majestic back, he must look thin in clothes and have a good figure when undressed. He was probably about 1.88 meters tall. The more she looked, the more pleasing to the eye he was.

Yang Xue stared greedily at his back. The gray Buddhist robe on him gave him the aura of an abstinent and powerful figure.

But looking at the golden hoop on his dark-brown short hair, Yang Xue suddenly felt sorry for him.

Yes, he was tricked by the Buddha and was crushed under the Five Elements Mountain for five hundred years. How could he really be willing to escort Tang Seng to fetch the scriptures?

Although he no longer resisted, his heart must be cold.

The TV series are all lies. When she was a child, she was too naive and saw things too simply.

"We're here. What are you standing there for?" Before she knew it, Sun Wukong had brought her to land under a big willow tree on the street. He looked down at her and forcefully pulled her hand away from his waist.
