Chapter 8: A Sudden Intruder

After telling Uncle and Fatty about the store fire, both of them were very anxious. One was worried about the start of his unfortunate life because of this, while the other was worried about missing the adventure.

The weather was fine when we came. But now that we were going back, there were some dark clouds. Even the weather wasn't that sunny.

"Uncle, don't worry. I'll be okay," I said. Although I was about to leave, I was still worried about Uncle. He had been good to me for so long. He was scared about this incident, and so was I.

I couldn't be sure what would happen in the future, but at least I had to gain control. This matter must be resolved.

Afraid that Uncle would over - think, I said, "Don't worry. I'll come back safely. You have to have faith in me." I could only use simple words to comfort Uncle's fragile heart.

Fatty was still rummaging around in the room. I didn't know what he was up to. I was a bit impatient. "Fatty, it's time to go! If you like our ancestral home, you can come and stay for a few more days next time."

"Nah, nah. Brother Mu, you're overthinking. After what happened last night, do you think I'd still dare to stay?" Fatty said as if he was avoiding a plague.

Not to mention Fatty, I was also a bit scared about what happened last night. Everything was so eerie that I still had a lingering fear.

Uncle still looked at me worriedly, hesitating to speak.

"Uncle, just say what you want. Don't be so hesitant."

"If you have any problems, tell Uncle. I'll do my best to help you. Be careful on the way."

"Don't worry, Uncle." After comforting Uncle, Fatty and I set off on our way back. "Uncle, go back. Don't worry. I'll take care of Brother Mu," Fatty said boldly to Uncle.

Uncle nodded and watched us leave.

If it weren't for the store fire, I would definitely have completed the ancestral sacrifice before leaving. But now everything came so suddenly that I had to leave first.

I drove with Fatty on the way here. On the way back, it was Fatty's turn to drive me. I didn't want to sit in the passenger seat. It was more suitable for me to sleep in the back. I had listened to the snoring all night last night.

Fatty sat in the driver's seat and started the car. I lay down comfortably in the back seat and took the opportunity to catch up on some sleep.

In the small space, I went to meet Morpheus alone while the scenery on both sides of the road flashed by. Along with the comfortable classical music in the car, I fell into a dream on the way.

"Bang!" The sound of a collision.

"Damn it! Don't you look at the road when you drive?" Fatty cursed. Our car collided with an on - coming vehicle that was driving in the wrong lane.

A man got out of the opposite car. He was estimated to be over 190 cm tall. He stared at me in the car with a cold look in his eyes. Ignoring the roaring Fatty, the man walked straight towards me in the back seat.

"Hey! Who are you! I'm talking to you, you punk!" Fatty grabbed the man.

The man grabbed Fatty's wrist with his backhand and gently lifted it, easily removing Fatty's hand. Fatty was no match for him at all.

Seeing Fatty at a disadvantage, I quickly got out of the car to help him.

When the man saw me get out, he let go of Fatty and turned to me, examining me from head to toe. I felt creepy all over being stared at by him and couldn't help shivering.

"Who are you?" Looking at the man who was half a head taller than me, dressed all in black like someone from The Matrix, I stared back at him, examining him in return.

The man completely ignored my gaze and still walked closer to me. "I warn you, stay away from me! You damaged my car and you have to pay for it!"

"I can pay, but you have to come with me," the man said, dropping a bombshell.

I'm as straight as they come! I'm not interested in men!

"What do you mean? I'm a decent person. I don't sell myself," I took a step back, keeping a distance of about two meters from the man.

The man looked at me without saying a word and took out a fragment from his pocket. I thought he was going to use it to threaten me. There was just something strange about this man. The aura he exuded was intimidating.

"Take a good look at this. Does it look familiar?" the man said.

I leaned in to take a look. Holy cow! Isn't this the broken piece of the jade bottle!

Maybe because I was still scared of Uncle's story, I instinctively took two steps back. The man grabbed me as I stepped back. My arm hurt from his grip.

"I don't mean any harm. You have to come with me," his words left no room for refusal.

"Okay, let's deal with this accident first," I couldn't directly confront this strange man, so I had to play for time and look for an opportunity to escape.

The man turned around and walked to the other side to make a phone call. I seized the opportunity to give Fatty a look, indicating that he should be ready to run. Our years of friendship weren't for nothing. Fatty immediately understood my meaning and nodded at me.

The time was too short. It wasn't practical to escape. I waved down a taxi, and Fatty and I quickly got in. As soon as we got in, we asked the driver to drive quickly.

"Damn it! Who is this guy! Brother Mu, did you offend the mafia?" Fatty asked as soon as he got in the car.

I gave him a disdainful look. "When did your Brother Mu ever offend anyone? Use your head. He's not an ordinary person. The fragment he showed just now was from the jade bottle."

Only then did Fatty come to his senses from the previous incident. How could he have forgotten about the fragment?

"Do you think he'll catch up with us?" Fatty asked fearfully.

"Please don't jinx it," I really didn't want to talk to this Fatty. He always brought up the wrong things.

The driver looked at the two of us babbling and for a moment thought we had escaped from a mental asylum.

We had already left that spooky place, and I couldn't see the man anymore. I felt a sense of relief.

That man just now, dressed all in black, was already depressing enough. And he had that low - pressure aura around him. When he fought with Fatty just now, although Fatty outweighed him, he didn't get any advantage at all. It was obvious that the man had shown mercy. Otherwise, Fatty's arm would have been broken.

"Young men, did you guys offend someone? There's a car following us," the driver turned to look at us.

"Just drive, Master. Don't pay attention. He's a psycho," Fatty said.

The driver looked at him with an expression that seemed to say, "Aren't you the psycho?"

"Bang!" The car was rear - ended.

Fatty opened the door and got out, cursing. "Damn it! Who are you? Why are you following us and ramming our car!"

Sure enough, it was still him.

The man didn't give up and chased us all the way here. He pushed Fatty aside. "This is none of your business."

Fatty got angry and shouted at him. "Who are you! Why don't I have the right to speak! Stay away from my Brother Mu."

"Wait, Fatty. Don't talk nonsense. What do you mean by'stay away from me'?" I couldn't help but rub my forehead. What kind of language skills did he have? It sounded like the man had some improper intentions towards me. In fact, he was after the bottle, okay?

Fatty didn't care. The man ignored him and still looked at me, saying, "We need to cooperate."
