Chapter 60 Fallacies

This guy is simply spouting fallacies. You can't refute him at all.

I shook my head helplessly. "All right, all right."

It wasn't the time to bicker with the Fatty in this situation. I looked at the police officer beside us, who was fixated on those eyes.

Suddenly, I realized something was wrong. The officer had been unusually silent since just now. His fight with Hualian'er also made me catch on to something.

I didn't think he was really doing all this to protect me. Instead, if I had to pick a reason, I'd rather think he wanted to obtain something.

A person would only fall out with Hualian'er for something they wanted. Maybe this was a bit too cruel for someone, but I trusted my own judgment more.

"Hey, stop for a moment."

The Fatty's roar came from behind. "Something's not right. Come and take a look at what this is."

I quickly walked over to the Fatty and looked down at where his finger was pointing. It was a human skeleton. If I wasn't mistaken, there was a very familiar thing on the skeleton.

"Have you seen this clothes before?"

The Fatty's words made my heart sink. I was indeed very familiar with this clothes. And if I remembered correctly, I had seen it not long ago.

I stared straight at this thing. After a long while, I let out a sigh and murmured a few words, "A Jin."

That's right. This was the clothes A Jin was wearing. What was going on? This was the uniform of the shop assistant in my second uncle's store.

I had always been curious why my second uncle, a shop - owner, would require his assistants to wear traditional uniforms. But now I understood. It was really easy to identify a dead person when the clothes said it all.

I winked at the Fatty beside me. He nodded and quickly rushed over. He picked up the body on the ground.

The police officer beside us opened his mouth wide, not understanding why we were doing this.

"What are you guys doing?"

A look of doubt flashed in the man's cold side - glance. Yan Yan seemed quite puzzled by our actions.

I didn't say a word. I just winked at him.

Yan Yan watched me with a twitching mouth. Finally, he couldn't hold back anymore. He reached out and took the backpack, his movements extremely natural.

A ray of light shone in his hand. When we turned on the flashlight, we saw that there wasn't just one body lying on the ground.

The body that was more recently deceased was wearing the familiar uniform. The other bodies had completely decayed.

Some tattered fragments in front showed traces that they were once clothes. It made me feel a bit sad when I saw this.

I reached out and tore off the clothes. Since they were a bit old, I also tore off the name tag. Looking at the marks on it, my face turned a bit grim.

Not for any other reason, but because there were only two words on the name tag: A Jin!

If it was A Jin's father, A Wang or Uncle A Fu, I could accept it. But who could tell me why it was A Jin?

The Fatty and I had clearly seen A Jin. A Jin himself had even had an arm chopped off and was sent to the hospital.

Although in the end, because of some things, I didn't see what happened to him in the end, but this clearly looked like a body that had been dead for many years.

How could it be A Jin? And this was a name tag. It usually didn't have much false information. I didn't think someone was playing a prank. It wasn't interesting at all.

The Fatty's face also darkened. "Damn it. I've really seen a ghost. Anyway, I don't want to continue. Let's go now. There's something wrong here."

The Fatty grabbed me and took two steps back. He was on high alert as he looked at the two people around. I could feel his fingers on my arm trembling little by little.

I finally understood why. I sighed. "All right then."

I held on to him and quickly took two steps back, but was grabbed by Yan Yan.

"This was the sacrifice five years ago."

As soon as he said this, I immediately froze. I turned to look at him, my eyes filled with disbelief.

"Are you serious?"

I couldn't quite believe this.

"This person has been dead for five years?"

The Fatty mumbled beside me. He nudged the tattered clothes with his toe. "It doesn't look like it's been five years at all."

I shook my head. That wasn't the problem now. It was true that the body didn't look like it had been dead for five years, but because it was preserved in different underground environments and the overall magnetic field could change the state of the body.

All these were normal. But what surprised me the most was, was it possible that someone had impersonated him with his clothes?

I stared into his eyes. I believed that Yan Yan wouldn't lie to me. As long as Yan Yan said so, I'd believe it.

The Fatty grumbled discontentedly beside me. "Why don't you believe anything?"

I didn't say a word. I turned to look at the young man behind me. "What do you think?"

The police officer had been in a daze since he saw the body lying on the ground.

Even someone as slow - witted as me could sense something was wrong. Why did the police officer's face freeze up completely after seeing A Jin on the ground?

Was there a problem? Since this guy had separated from Hualian'er for my sake, I had sensed something was off.

Sure enough, the next second, I heard someone with a trembling voice speaking in a voice like a parent's.

"I know this person. He disappeared five years ago and has never appeared in my world again."

I frowned and asked tentatively, "What do you mean?"

The man burst out laughing. He picked up the body and hugged it tightly. The Fatty and I clearly heard the sound of bones cracking.

"Brother, could you please let go of A Jin?"

After all, the Fatty and I had once known A Jin. Although we didn't know what was wrong with this guy, could he be a bit gentler?

The guy seemed not to notice our breakdown at all. He even rummaged through the body.

I finally couldn't stand it anymore. I pulled the guy away. "I don't know how much enmity you have with A Jin, but I hope you can explain what's going on here properly."

I stared seriously into his eyes, trying to see something. But the next second, I was immediately defeated.

His eyes were full of breakdown. "He's dead. He's really dead."

Officer Liu grabbed his own hair and banged his head on the ground like a madman.

Wait a minute. Didn't this guy have some kind of love - hate relationship with Hualian'er? What's with this look like his true love is dead and he can't go on living?

The Fatty shook his head frantically, not understanding what was going on.
