Early the next morning, the driver took them to the airport. Their flight was at 9 a.m., and they would arrive at around 1 p.m., a flight of nearly five hours.
They had bought business - class tickets. After boarding the plane, they found their corresponding seats and sat down.
Grandpa Lu was sitting in front of them. They had originally invited Grandpa Xiao to celebrate the New Year with them, but Grandpa Xiao was worried about his grandson, so he didn't come with them.
Lu Luochen sat next to Wen Sining. After the plane took off, Wen Sining looked at the scenery outside the window and unconsciously fell asleep.
Seeing her asleep, Lu Luochen waved to call over the flight attendant. "Hello, sir. May I help you?"
"Please bring a blanket for her," Lu Luochen said in a low voice.
"Sure, sir."
The flight attendant brought a blanket over.
Lu Luochen opened his laptop and started dealing with work matters.
Wen Sining woke up after a while. She checked her phone and saw it was only half - past ten.
"You're awake," Lu Luochen said.
Wen Sining nodded.
"Do you want something to drink?"
"No, thanks. It's okay. You can keep working," Wen Sining said when she saw he was working.
Lu Luochen nodded.
Wen Sining was bored. Just as she was about to turn on her phone to watch videos, a little girl ran over and stopped in front of her.
Looking at her chubby little face, big eyes, and two ponytails, Wen Sining greeted her, "Hello, little one."
"Sister," the little girl said in a childish voice.
Wen Sining nodded. Looking at her cute appearance, she couldn't help reaching out and pinching her cheek. "What's your name?"
"My name is Youyou," the little girl said, looking at Wen Sining with her big black eyes.
"Youyou, where's your mom?" Wen Sining didn't see her parents around.
"I don't know where my mom went. I just woke up and she's gone," the little girl said. She had just woken up from a nap and found her mom missing.
"Stay here obediently. I'll ask the flight attendant to help find her," Wen Sining said. Even on the plane, it wasn't safe for a little girl to be alone.
Grandpa Lu also woke up. Seeing the little girl standing in front of Wen Sining, he said, "Ningning, since you like kids so much, why don't you have one?" He really wanted to have a great - grandchild.
Hearing Grandpa's words, Wen Sining immediately cast a pleading look at Lu Luochen.
The latter immediately understood and took over, "Grandpa, don't rush us. Sining and I will have kids, but not now. Besides, I want to enjoy our time as a couple for a few more years." He took all the responsibility upon himself.
Grandpa Lu glared at his grandson and then closed his eyes.
Wen Sining heaved a sigh of relief when she saw Grandpa didn't ask further.
She continued talking to the little girl, "How old are you?"
The little girl held up two fingers with her left hand.
"You're only two," Wen Sining said softly.
Lu Luochen turned his head and looked at Wen Sining. He could imagine what she would be like as a mother. The corner of his mouth curled up slightly.
"Youyou, why did you run here again?" the little girl's mother's voice came.
Youyou ran towards her. "Mommy."
"Be careful. Don't fall," the little girl's mother said as she watched her running.
She picked up her daughter and walked over. "I'm so sorry to trouble you," she said apologetically.
Wen Sining shook her head. "No trouble at all. She's so cute and soft."
The little girl's mother smiled. "Youyou, say goodbye to the sister."
"Goodbye, sister," Youyou's childish voice rang out as she waved her chubby little hand at Wen Sining.
"Goodbye, Youyou."
After the little girl left, Wen Sining was back to the quiet state.
Time passed quickly. Soon they arrived in Yuncheng. The three of them got off the plane.
Grandpa Lu had arranged for someone to pick them up. It was a business car.
It was Wen Sining's first time in Yuncheng. She turned to Lu Luochen and asked, "When was the last time you were here?"
Lu Luochen thought for a while before answering, "When I was very young." His impression of this place was very vague.
Wen Sining just let out an "oh".
"I didn't expect this place to have changed so much," Grandpa Lu said with a sigh as he looked at the buildings outside.
The three of them chatted in the car and soon arrived at the villa.
Wen Sining got out of the car and looked at the house in front of her. It was a Jiangnan - style courtyard villa with blue bricks and white walls, full of the charm of the Jiangnan region.
"Let's go in," Lu Luochen put his arm around Wen Sining's shoulder.
After entering, there were some flowers and plants in the yard, as well as a small pond. Wen Sining was attracted by the scenery in the small yard. It was a completely different feeling from the villas in the north.
The area of this villa was quite large. What Wen Sining saw was just a corner of it.
Although no one lived here usually, there were maids who came to clean it regularly.
"You like it here," Lu Luochen said as he noticed her emotions.
Wen Sining nodded. "It's so beautiful." She walked forward.
"I'll show you around later," Lu Luochen said.
"Okay," Wen Sining replied.
"Let me take you to the bedroom to unpack your things first."
Wen Sining nodded and followed Lu Luochen. She thought they were going upstairs, but unexpectedly, he took her to a courtyard. However, she didn't ask much and just followed him in.
"This is my place. Grandpa lives in the courtyard in front," Lu Luochen stopped and said to Wen Sining beside him.
Wen Sining responded with a soft sound, feeling quite amazed in her heart.
After entering, the first floor was the living room, and the second floor was their bedroom. The interior of the room, just like the exterior, was in the Chinese style.
Lu Luochen opened the door and pushed their suitcases in.
The bedroom was also very large. There was a sofa and a table in it. Further inside was the sleeping area.
Wen Sining opened the suitcase and took out all the clothes, hanging them in the closet.
After finishing unpacking, she just lay down on the bed. She was really tired after such a long flight.
Lu Luochen pushed the two suitcases to the side. A servant came in from outside, and Wen Sining sat up from the bed.
"Auntie, if you need anything, just tell me," a slightly plump woman walked in casually.
"Qingtang, why didn't you knock before coming in?" Lu Luochen said, but there was no blame in his words.
The latter smiled. "Uncle, this is the first time you've brought Auntie back to the old mansion. I got so excited that I forgot." She scratched her head as she looked at Lu Luochen.
