Chapter 333: Drinking Away Sorrows

After Lu Luochen finished speaking, he picked up the divorce agreement on the table and left. Watching the door close, Wen Sining let herself sink into the soft sofa.

Hearing the sound of a car starting outside, there was no need to guess. It must be Lu Luochen driving away.

Looking at the divorce agreement on the table, she felt an indescribable emptiness in her heart. Perhaps this was the pre - ordained ending. Their marriage had been so hasty in the first place. Before the wedding, they didn't know much about each other. They got married in a hurry, and after that, they failed to build a strong marital relationship.

She still remembered that Lu Luochen had said not to make their marriage public. Wen Sining had been very puzzled at that time, but now thinking about it, maybe his choice was right. If the marriage had been announced and now they were getting divorced, it would surely cause a sensation.

Thinking of this, Wen Sining silently grinned. She got up from the sofa and went to wash up. Even though she hadn't been back for a while, her things were still quietly placed on the sink as before.

After washing, she filled the bathtub with water. Since her foot hadn't fully recovered, she was extremely careful. Only after her body was completely immersed in the water did she realize that she had forgotten to get her pajamas. Oh well, since she was the only one in the room, she might as well just wrap herself in a bath towel later.

She didn't know how long she had been soaking until the water in the bathtub turned cold. Then she got up, wrapped herself in a bath towel and walked out.

Lying on the soft big bed, she unexpectedly suffered from insomnia.

Wen Sining simply opened her eyes and turned on the bedside lamp. She took out her phone to check the time and found that it was already eleven o'clock.

She simply picked up her phone and sent a message to Qiao Xi.

[I'm divorced.]

[Holy crap! Did Lu Luochen agree?]

[Yes, he did.]

As soon as her message was sent, Qiao Xi called her for a video chat.

Wen Sining answered the call, and Qiao Xi's face appeared on the big screen.

"Does Grandpa Lu know that you two are divorced?"

"Yes, he does."

Wen Sining then told her what had happened today.

"That woman is so shameless. It's not just a show of force. I don't think she even takes you seriously. It's good that you're divorced," Qiao Xi said indignantly.

Wen Sining nodded.

"Are you still at the Lu Family Mansion?"

"Yes. I'll pack my things and leave early tomorrow morning," Wen Sining said.

"What about Lu Luochen?"

Wen Sining shook her head, indicating that she didn't know. She didn't care about Lu Luochen's affairs anymore.

"I'll come pick you up tomorrow morning," Qiao Xi said.

Wen Sining agreed. After chatting for a few more words, they hung up the phone.

Wen Sining fell asleep in a daze on the bed.

As for Lu Luochen, he drove away from home. A strange sense of irritability welled up in his heart.

While driving, he called Feng Jingcheng. "Come out and drink with me."

Feng Jingcheng, who had just fallen asleep, was completely confused by Lu Luochen's words. "Why aren't you sleeping at this late hour? What on earth are you up to?"

"I'm divorced," Lu Luochen said.

This sentence woke Feng Jingcheng up. He suddenly sat up in bed. "What! Where are you now?"

"I'm driving. See you at our usual place." After saying this, Lu Luochen hung up the phone.

Feng Jingcheng got dressed and drove out. He was quite worried about Lu Luochen.

Lu Luochen parked his car in front of a bar. Just as he got out of the car, Feng Jingcheng also arrived.

"What on earth is going on?" He had thought that it was just a simple quarrel between Lu Luochen and Wen Sining. After all, with Grandpa Lu around, they shouldn't have ended up getting divorced.

Lu Luochen briefly told him what had happened. Feng Jingcheng clicked his tongue. "You're really something. Anyone would be angry if they were in her shoes."

Lu Luochen gave him a warning look. "Let's go. I'll drink with you. We won't stop until we're drunk."

The two of them went into a private room. Lu Luochen started drinking desperately as if this could make him forget those things.

"Drink less," Feng Jingcheng knew that he was in a bad mood, but he couldn't drink like this. His body wouldn't be able to take it.

"I'm divorced from Wen Sining," Lu Luochen mumbled. "What should I do?" he asked Feng Jingcheng.

Feng Jingcheng could only sigh helplessly.

"I don't want to get divorced. Do you understand?" Lu Luochen continued.

"I understand, but what's going on between you and Yun Chuchu?"

Lu Luochen shook his head and took a big gulp of wine. "The child in her belly isn't mine."

"What!" Feng Jingcheng exclaimed in surprise. "Does Wen Sining know about this?"

Lu Luochen nodded. If it weren't for her reminder, he might still be in the dark.

"You should break up with Yun Chuchu as soon as possible. Otherwise, I don't think there's any chance for you and Wen Sining to remarry," Feng Jingcheng advised. Even as an outsider, he thought that Lu Luochen had been unfair in this matter.

"I know."

In the end, Lu Luochen got completely drunk and passed out. Feng Jingcheng drove him to his apartment. He had originally planned to send him home, but Lu Luochen kept saying that Wen Sining was at home and he didn't want to go back.

It was already four or five o'clock in the morning by the time Feng Jingcheng settled Lu Luochen down. Then he went back to catch a few more hours of sleep.

The next day.

Wen Sining woke up early. Looking at the big dark circles under her eyes, she yawned and covered them with foundation first. Then she started packing her luggage.

She opened the closet and packed all her clothes into the suitcase. She walked to the dressing table, opened the drawer and saw a box inside. It contained their wedding rings.

She thought they were too precious, so she had never worn them and had always kept them here. Now it seemed that she didn't need them anymore. She closed the lid and simply put the box on the table. She didn't plan to take it with her.

She took one last look at the bedroom and then pulled her suitcase out.

Just as she walked out, Grandpa Lu happened to come out. Seeing Wen Sining pulling her suitcase, he asked, "Ningning, are you leaving now?"

Wen Sining nodded. "Grandpa, I'll come back to see you when I have time."

Grandpa Lu nodded.

"I'll ask the driver to take you home."

"No need. Xixi is coming to pick me up."

Grandpa Lu didn't insist anymore. Instead, he walked over and stuffed a card into Wen Sining's hand.

"This is Grandpa's little token of affection. Take it."

Wen Sining declined. "Grandpa, I can't possibly take this. You should keep it for yourself."

"Take it. Grandpa will feel uncomfortable if you don't," Grandpa Lu said.

"This..." Wen Sining didn't know what to do for a moment. She didn't know whether she should take it or not.
