Feng Yu was pulled into the car by Mu Shiyan.
She looked at him. There was blood on his forehead and palms.
Feng Yu pursed her lips. Even though she harbored countless hatreds towards him, she couldn't resist the pang of guilt welling up at this moment.
"We've passed the hospital..." Feng Yu reminded.
Mu Shiyan's chiseled handsome face exuded a frigid aura. He remained silent.
Feng Yu frowned. "Go to the hospital to get your wounds dressed, okay?"
Mu Shiyan stepped on the accelerator harder. It was unclear who he was angry with. The car suddenly sped up. Feng Yu grabbed the handrail tightly and stared at the cold - hearted man. "Who are you putting on this show for? I've said I don't need your help, but you insisted on intervening. Now I'm telling you to go to the hospital, and you're just being stubborn and refusing, right?"
"Stop the car! Since you're so reluctant to listen to me, fine. We'll go our separate ways."
Feng Yu said coldly.
Mu Shiyan made a sharp turn and drove the car God - knows - where.
The moment the car stopped, he pinned Feng Yu down. Flames blazed in his icy eyes. "Say one more word, and I'll strangle you right now. Do you believe me?"
Feng Yu stared back at him coldly and reached for the silver needles on her waist. But then she felt the warm, sticky liquid running down his hand and burning her skin.
She stared into his eyes, and her own reflection stared back at her.
For a moment, the atmosphere in the car fell into silence.
Mu Shiyan's gaze softened. He hugged Feng Yu tightly, tense and anxious. "I'm sorry, Xiaoyu. I didn't mean to scare you. I don't know why, but I've been suffering from mania since we parted that day. I don't want to hurt you. I really don't. But please don't say such hurtful things on purpose, okay?"
He pleaded, his voice full of unease.
This was a side of him she had never seen before.
Feng Yu lowered her eyes. "Let me go first."
"Xiaoyu, will you stay with me nicely?"
Just then, her phone rang.
Feng Yu's hand kept touching the silver needles on her waist, but she didn't take action in the end. "Mu Shiyan, I told you to let go."
"I need to answer the phone."
He released her and continued driving.
Feng Yu looked at the caller ID, took a deep breath to calm herself, and then answered. "Mr. Fu, what can I do for you?"
"Do you like roast goose?"
The sudden question from the other end left Feng Yu utterly confused.
"Just so - so. I'm not particularly fond of it," Feng Yu replied.
Fu Qianchen was silent for a moment and then said, "The roast goose at Wanda Hotel is really good. You should give it a try."
Wanda Hotel.
Wasn't that the place she had just been to?
Wait a minute. Fu Qianchen wasn't in the company at this time. Could it be that he was at Wanda Hotel?
"Mr. Fu, don't tell me you're also at Wanda Hotel."
She didn't believe it was just a coincidence that he called to ask about the signature dish of that hotel.
Sure enough, the other end fell silent again.
But another person couldn't hold back. Bai Shaoting's rascally voice came through.
"Third sister - in - law, Brother Fu and I came here on business. We just saw you come out of the hotel and get into a man's car. Where are you two going to have an affair?"
Affair?
Feng Yu was speechless and couldn't help but feel a bit exasperated with Fu Qianchen.
Why didn't he just ask her directly instead of beating around the bush like this?
"Mr. Fu, I'm not having an affair. A friend is injured, and I'm planning to take him to the hospital."
"Which hospital?"
Before Feng Yu could finish her sentence, the phone was snatched away.
Mu Shiyan's cold, piercing gaze sent shivers down her spine. He simply threw Feng Yu's phone out of the window.
"You're crazy!" Feng Yu leaned out of the window to look. She hadn't even finished speaking when the phone was gone.
Mu Shiyan gave her a cold glance. "I got injured because of you. You should be responsible."
"Is this your reason for throwing my phone away?" Feng Yu scoffed. "Young Master Mu, if that's the case, then we're even. Let me out of the car!"
"Fine, I'll let you out. If I die on this road, you'll never have peace in your life!"
Mu Shiyan opened the car door for her.
There were still some broken glass shards on his forehead that hadn't been removed, and the blood just wouldn't stop flowing. Coupled with his restless and irritable movements, the wound kept getting bigger.
In no time, his face was almost covered in blood.
Even if he didn't die, the sight would be terrifying.
Feng Yu glared at him. "You asked for this. I didn't ask you to help me. If I took a hit from them, I'd get it back sooner or later."
Mu Shiyan squinted at her.
She was no longer the girl she used to be.
Now she was confident, steady, and cold - and - aloof.
The girl in the past was sunny, reserved, and playful.
He had missed out on her growth.
He had never witnessed the blooming of that delicate rose.
Mu Shiyan threw a wallet at her. Feng Yu raised her eyebrows and looked at him. "Buy some medicine for me. I want you to dress my wounds with your own hands."
Feng Yu rummaged through his wallet. There was a considerable amount of money in it. When she reached the inner compartment, she saw the photo of them when they were kids. Her hand trembled.
"Do you still remember? You were nine years old then. You said you'd marry me when you grew up," Mu Shiyan said.
Feng Yu closed the wallet, looked at him with a cold gaze, and smiled faintly. "You actually believe a kid's words? Young Master Mu, aren't you being a bit too naive?"
Every frown and smile of hers was extremely charming.
But right now, he just wanted to strangle her!
Back then, she used to follow him around every day, eager to grow up quickly so that she could become his bride.
That had been the happiest time of his life.
However, now, one of them was already a married woman and a widow, while the other was about to marry her elder sister.
How ridiculous!
"I've always taken it seriously," Mu Shiyan said.
Feng Yu pursed her lips, got out of the car, and lowered her eyes, concealing all her emotions.
She looked at him, her eyes hazy, and forced a fake smile. "Young Master Mu, I've decided not to care about whether you live or die. If you really want to die, then go ahead. In that case, Feng Qingsheng will also become a widow. I think that's not too bad. May you rest in peace. I'll take the money. It'll be just enough for a taxi ride back."
A cold glint flashed in Mu Shiyan's eyes.
Seeing that she was really flagging down a taxi, he quickly said, "Do you want to know where your younger brother is?"
Feng Yu looked at him. This man first threatened her with her mother's matter, and now he was using her younger brother.
She stared at him coldly, her face exuding a frigid aura.
"Help me. I can't apply the medicine myself. You know I don't like hospitals. Even when my eyes were damaged, I never went to the hospital. I always had doctors come to my place."
His voice softened, and a hint of sadness flashed across his eyes.
Feng Yu remembered.
He had a strange aversion to hospitals. Even when his eyes were injured, he refused to go and always had doctors visit him.
He had always been repulsed by hospitals.
This man rarely got injured. Or rather, he never let himself get hurt and never gave himself a chance to go to the hospital.
But this time, even though he knew it would be serious, he still took the blow for her.
Feng Yu sighed. Her clear, black - and - white eyes were filled with complex emotions. She turned around and walked away.
"Xiaoyu."
Mu Shiyan chased after her and stared at her intently.
Feng Yu waved the wallet irritably. "I'm not a god. I can't just blow on you and make you better. I'll go buy the medicine."
